The possibility of Ukraine's army collapsing cannot be ruled out a US official has warned, report says

The possibility of Ukraine's army collapsing cannot be ruled out, an unnamed US official told Bloomberg.

The report said, citing talks with multiple officials, that Ukraine's position on the battlefield is at its most fragile moment since Russia's full-scale invasion began in February 2022.

Ukraine's war effort has been weakened in recent months by a severe shortage of ammunition, dipping morale among Ukrainian soldiers, and the impasse in Congress over US aid to Ukraine, Bloomberg reported.

One major risk is a collapse of Ukraine's line of defense, which would allow Russia to make a major advance, Bloomberg said, citing an official speaking anonymously.

In recent weeks, building on its capture of Avdiivka, Russia has advanced incrementally in eastern Ukraine, claiming new territory and threatening the town of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said Friday that the government would allocate a further Hr 3.88 billion (almost $100 million) to help reinforce fortifications, primarily in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, which sit near Russia's border.

However, The Wall Street Journal reported in March that although Ukrainian troops were building fortifications in preparation for an oncoming Russian offensive, there are fears that not enough progress is being made.

Idiots forget Reagan supported the mujaheddin. Where they perfect?

Idiots forget Reagan supported the contra’s? Where they perfect?

The mujaheddin became bin laden and 911.

The contras failed, and Ortega has been back in power in Nicaragua since 2007 (and somehow we have all survived)

Not sure how repeating Reagan’s disasters is a good idea.

So let’s look at this, the US had Islamic terrorists at their beck and call , right, the CIA trained them .

Why would anyone believe that they still don’t have Islamic terrorists at their beck and call ?

ISIS anyone ?

I’m still trying to decide if there is greater stupidity and delusions on the Israel threads, or the Ukraine threads.

On the Ukraine threads it is the ghosts of Hitler and Reagan says we have to attack Russia.

On the Israel threads, it is the Bible says we have to attack Iran.

We can print all the money in the world that we want and spend it on the Ukraine War but it doesn’t increase our industrial capacity quickly enough to ramp up production for warm unions to make a difference. We are limited by the fact that our garbage establishment de-industrialized the US and then engineered a war with an nation that still has heavy industry.

And they're all left wing woke idiots following the woke leaders of the USA.

Go ahead NATO and invade and make my day then get annihilated, Putin should say .

Glad to know which side you're on. Here is you newest member of NATO, long after NATO promised not to expand. (Iow's no one can trust what the US says and the world sees that now.) Get your rainbow flag out. And you won't see any drag queens poisoning children minds there either.

.

How Russia handles the perverted that the west promotes.

---- "The possibility of Ukraine's army collapsing cannot be ruled out a US official has warned, report says"

What an interesting post and news story dated April 13, 2024.

It is obvious that none of the participants in the war between two non-NATO nations took note of the news dated July 13 of last year.

Biden wraps European trip, declares Putin's "already lost the war" in Ukraine CBS News, 13 July 2023
How can the "possibility of Ukraine's army collapsing" be true, when Russia "already lost the war" in Ukraine? < s a r c >

Money is not the problem, we can’t produce the weapons quickly, we have no industrial base left to do so. Also, Congress in its wisdom distributed weapons manufacturing all over the country so everything has to be manufactured everywhere and then brought together and assembled very inefficiently and expensively. Our military industrial base turned into a inefficient jobs program.

It was always a fiasco.
The media repeatedly admitted that Ukraine was a corrupt craphole up until feb 2022.
After that it was “Slobber Ukraini!!1!”

We have the factories but we will have to retool them in 2022 after the Russians invaded Ukraine. We never went on a war footing. The MIC isn't in it to win the war. They just want to make $$$.

The EU is on their own now. Time for them to pay attention. And the Americans are now unreliable (which is fair).

Nice map. However parts of Crimea and the Ukraine became part of Russia in 1796, over 228 years ago. That’s longer than Texas and California have been part of the United States.

I find it to be worse with respect to Israel because they invoke God.
The stupidity of Russia v Ukraine at least exists in the world of men only.

No one ever brings it up here, but I was just wondering this today.
What occurs in a man’s mind to think God prefers one strain of his creation over the others?
Ascribing preference to an all knowing Creator of everything.
It’s the anthropomorphic view of God, as if he has our biases.

As I mentioned right at the beginning of his debacle, hell is more likely to freeze over before Russia lets go of Ukraine. Unless some of these war mongering goofballs within our regime come to their senses and extradite themselves in a somewhat face saving manner I foresee no good outcome for either side and it may involve massive destruction on BOTH SIDES maybe this is what the US is looking forward to. I hope with all my heart they do not.

George Washington's farewell address:
The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible. So far as we have already formed engagements, let them be fulfilled with perfect good faith. Here let us stop. Europe has a set of primary interests which to us have none; or a very remote relation. Hence she must be engaged in frequent controversies, the causes of which are essentially foreign to our concerns. Hence, therefore, it must be unwise in us to implicate ourselves by artificial ties in the ordinary vicissitudes of her politics, or the ordinary combinations and collisions of her friendships or enmities. Our detached and distant situation invites and enables us to pursue a different course. If we remain one people under an efficient government. the period is not far off when we may defy material injury from external annoyance; when we may take such an attitude as will cause the neutrality we may at any time resolve upon to be scrupulously respected; when belligerent nations, under the impossibility of making acquisitions upon us, will not lightly hazard the giving us provocation; when we may choose peace or war, as our interest, guided by justice, shall counsel.”

Well if the Europeans are going to fight with Russia they should have their own weapons and money to do so. Not our problem.

Goofy, but lets entertain your idea.

Tell me, how has all the money spent in Ukraine thus far made me more free, safer, or wealthier?

In fact, without make belief boogieman arguments that are unrealistic (The Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact are gone), what national security argument is there for our involvement?

What are you defending? Peace (a war we antagonized - NATO East expansion), democracy (Ukraine isn't one), a nations sovereignty (Ukraine is a satellite of the US), human rights (Ukraine has a horrible human rights record)?

What defensive treaty do we have with Ukraine, what do we owe them?

In March of 2024 alone Russia launched 3000 FAB glide bombs but the yearly manufacturing capacity of the United States for patriot missiles is 550. Do the math genius. We can manufacture enough patriot metals to defend the Ukraine for two weeks from these glide bulbs. Also the glide bombs cost thousands of dollars while the patriot missiles cost millions. I don’t know of a faster way to go broke.
