The Lord chose Israel in the Old Testament.
But He rejected them after repeated warnings against idolatry. And they were dispersed throughout the world.
The Jews longed for the Messiah, and then rejected Him when He was sent.
The Lord prefers those who fear Him, rather than those who claim His sanction for their earthly agendas.
That’s what bothers me more than anything about the evangelical unquestioning supporters of whatever Israel wants.
The West has undertaken some very foolish MidEast Wars that Israel wanted very much.
The Christian communities in those countries were destroyed as a result.
Israel wants to do it again with Syria. They want a Sunni Islamist takeover to break the alliance with Iran. The result will be that the Christian community in Syria will be destroyed.
Now the the Israel worshippers amongst the evangelicals might say that the price we pay to “bless Israel”.
I refuse to go along with that.
We differ some on the intermediary thoughts, but the conclusions are the same.
Needless foreign adventures while our country is dying are insane.
