GOP Lawmakers Demand US Retaliate Against Iran Over Attack On Israel, Pushes Aid Package: ‘Long Past Time For Iran To Pay’

Republican lawmakers on Saturday demanded the U.S. launch a retaliatory strike against Iran for the drone and missile attacked launched against Israel.

On Saturday, Iran launched hundreds of suicide drones toward Israel and later ballistic missiles in a retaliatory attack for an airstrike on the Iranian consulate building in Syria that killed Tehran’s top commanders.

President Joe Biden vowed prior to the attack to do everything possible to protect Israel. However, aid to Israel amid the country’s war with Hamas has been delayed due to division within the Republican party.

Following the attack, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) announced the House will move forward next week to consider a bill that will provide Israel with an aid package.

“In light of Iran’s unjustified attack on Israel, the House will move from its previously announced legislative schedule next week to instead consider legislation that supports our ally Israel and holds Iran and its terrorist proxies accountable,” Scalise wrote. “The House of Representatives stands strongly with Israel, and there must be consequences for this unprovoked attack.”

[They laughed at Noah.]

Exactly. Thank you for the reminder.

Just last Friday evening I spoke with a guy at a business - he was checking a door and I told him how the door would sometimes malfunction.

Before that I went into all that is going on, Israel - Iran -— and gave him a Gospel tract regarding the Beast and Ezekiel 38, etc.

I believe it was the very next day all this happened - I wondered if he saw the TV and realized what I had just given him.

I told him they were expecting Iran to strike at Israel at any moment - I flipped open the tract and it landed on the Ezekiel 38 section (I pointed out where the invaders would come from - a few anyways).

We’ll see if I see him again in a few days - it will be interesting to talk to him after giving him that tract about 24 hours before it all cut loose.

We could sell more oil than they could, but the Democrats won’t allow it.

Actually, on this point Democrats are yet inconsistent with the Climageddon policies, likely due to political economics,

U.S. crude oil exports reached a record high in first half of 2023

“The United States produced more crude oil than any nation at any time, according to our International Energy Statistics, for the past six years in a row. Crude oil production in the United States, including condensate, averaged 12.9 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2023, breaking the previous U.S. and global record of 12.3 million b/d, set in 2019. Average monthly U.S. crude oil production established a monthly record high in December 2023 at more than 13.3 million b/d. - https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2024/03/12/eia-confirms-historic-us-oil-production-record/?sh=4a11c39b4048

U.S. crude oil exports in the first half of 2023 averaged 3.99 million barrels per day (b/d), which is a record high for the first half of a year since 2015, when the U.S. ban on most crude oil exports from the United States was repealed. In the first half of 2023, crude oil exports were up 650,000 b/d (19%) compared with the first half of 2022.

Europe was the largest regional destination for U.S. crude oil exports by volume, at 1.75 million b/d, led by exports to the Netherlands and UK. Asia was the regional destination with the next-highest volume, at 1.68 million b/d, led by exports to China and South Korea. The United States also exported significantly smaller volumes of crude oil to Canada, Africa, and Central America and South America.

Although exports increased in the first half of 2023, the United States still imports more crude oil than it exports, meaning it remains a net crude oil importer. The United States continues to import crude oil despite rising domestic crude oil production in part because many U.S. refineries are configured to process heavy, sour crude oil (with a low API gravity and high sulfur content) rather than the light, sweet crude oil (with a high API gravity and low sulfur content) typically produced in the United States.

The crude oil production record in the United States in 2023 is unlikely to be broken in any other country in the near term because no other country has reached production capacity of 13.0 million b/d.
he world’s three largest oil producers — the U.S., Russia, and Saudi Arabia — accounted for 40% of the world’s oil production in 2023:

One notable difference between the U.S. and the other two major producers is that Russia and Saudi Arabia still produce far more oil than they consume, making them major net exporters of crude oil. - https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2024/03/12/eia-confirms-historic-us-oil-production-record/?sh=3786f67e4048

And what did Trump do? Significantly bumped up US defense spending, insisted NATO countries do same, and knew when (and when not) to punch Iran.

That analysis is only part of the story.

For one thing it doesn’t show refined products exports of all types.

Petro considered as a whole, we are a net exporter. That’s largely due to great demand from Europe.

Also left out is that current US production is in spite of Biden’s policies, not because of them. Left to the economic drivers alone, we could easily be 20% higher. If we’d initiated before Pooty even got his massed troops moving to Iran, a wartime priority effort to increase production, you could add at least another 20%.

Keystone is one factor in all this. It was not designed to merely get heavy Canadian crude to the US, it also was to ship some of our light shale oil to Canada to be mixed with the heavy stuff, making said heavy crude much more “pipeable” back to the US, as well as a better mix for our refineries. Biden killed it, forcing the less efficient, more dangerous, and less green option of moving it by rail, plus Canada is now piping (somewhat inefficiently) their oil to their West Coast for shipment to China.

You could go to a school for the mentally incompetent and find students there smarter and more sensible than this Biden Administration. Bah!

Like opposition to nuclear power, which is very "green" and surpasses all relative to production per mile in that regard, stopping it is driven by quest for power by leaders, along with ignorance. We pay high rates due to stopping a pipeline to the NE, though there are some legit considerations to that among land owners.

If all had gone according to plan, the Constitution pipeline would be carrying fracked gas 124 miles from the shale gas fields of Pennsylvania through streams, wetlands, and backyards across the Southern Tier of New York until west of Albany. There it would join two existing pipelines, one that extends into New England and the other to the Ontario border as part of a vast network that moves fracked gas throughout the northeastern United States and Canada. For a while, everything unfolded as expected. When the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approved the project in 2014, the U.S. was in the midst of a fracking boom that would make it the world’s largest producer of natural gas and crude oil... Yet the developers did not anticipate landowners, neighborhood residents, community leaders, and anti-fracking activists statewide forging a coalition to kill the pipeline. In a landmark defeat, New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation denied the project’s water-quality certificate in 2016, leading Williams to abandon it in early 2020.

The defeat of the Constitution pipeline marked the start of an uncertain era for interstate pipelines in New York and beyond. The company behind the Northeast Energy Direct pipeline, which would have carried shale gas through New York into New England, abandoned the project just days before the state rejected the Constitution pipeline. In 2017, developers walked away from the Pilgrim pipelines, which would have funneled fracked oil from New York to New Jersey. In May, state officials denied a key permit for the Northeast Supply Enhancement pipeline, commonly referred to as the Williams pipeline, between New Jersey and New York City. - https://grist.org/fix/advocacy/how-activists-shut-down-key-pipeline-projects-new-york/
