Ukraine’s Zelensky ‘Personally’ Thanks Mike Johnson for $61 Billion Gift from U.S. Taxpayers
Breitbart ^ | 04/20/2024

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said he was “personally” grateful to “Speaker Mike Johnson for the decision that keeps history on the right track” after Johnson shepherded a $61 billion Ukraine aid package through the House Saturday.

The image of scores of Democrats waving Ukraine flags and cheering on the House floor as the bill passed will forever sting the conservatives from whose ranks Johnson rose, only to serve them with the ultimate betrayal.

I should update it so it could be more pathetic.

Although I do not mind saying this.

The thing that seems to make people mad is my support for Bush.

I always like to say to critics on that point:

1. You support Saddam Hussein— come on— admit it — you really miss that great dictator of a man.

2. You support Al Gore— he would have been such a great president— admit it

3. You support John Kerry— he would have been great as president

Politics is always a contemporaneous consideration. I think one of the biggest disasters in Republican/ Conservative thought is the manner by which our intellectual culture has convinced Americans to repudiate every iteration of Republicans.

I am a strong supporter of President Trump. I think his policies were excellent and I look forward to voting for him in 2024. I also realize that he does not like President Bush. I also realize that as recently as 2014, Trump wanted Hillary Clinton to be President.

I think it is ridiculous the way people make absolute pronouncements about the souls of political figures. It is silly.

I voted in various elections for the practical necessary outcome for the nation. I am unashamed of my past choices.

I think it is perfectly acceptable to counter the criticism of others by pointing out the obvious alternatives to individuals such as Bush.

A practical example of this is that while Trump thinks Iraq was the worst foreign policy mistake in US history, I think one of the best things Trump did was kill Solemani on the tarmac at Baghdad airport. He killed an Iranian general in Iraq. That is not unlike Bush’s military aggression in Iraq.

Additionally, I think Trump flipping the soft on Russia policy (Obama/ Biden) for Ukraine by giving Ukraine lethal aid was a brilliant move. But it problematizes the reactionaries here at FR who pretend that any support of Ukraine is traitorous. I also think the killing of hundreds of Russian soldiers by Trump throughout the world is a great action even though Trump is ostensibly anti-war. Trump has a great sense of military deterrence.

The money comes back to the politicians who voted for it. Not just from Ukraine. The MIC donations.

“There is historical precedent. Read what happened in Europe during the 1930’s.”

Read about the fall of the Roman empire due to illegal immigration.

“I support Mike Johnson, as most here on FR do.”

Not even remotely close.

Well, Zelenskyy can finally afford that 6th villa that he has always desired and keep the one up on his generals.

I supported Bush then (I don’t now)

My problem with supporting Ukraine isn’t because I’m an isolationist - it’s because Biden and Obama have been monkeying about with Ukraine internal politics in an attempt to deliberately keep Russia and Putin off balance (which I think is all part of petty payback because Putin rejected Obama and Hillary’s great reset) and Putin pushed back. Putin didn’t move on Ukraine in Trumps years because he was scared of Trump but because Trump assured him that Ukraine wouldn’t be used as a NATO pawn and Trump kept his word. It’s part of the reason they went with the “Trump is a Putin agent” story - Obama has it out for Putin... Not Xi, whos inarguably a greater threat... because Xi is allied with the DNC... but Putin is not...

So what happened when Obama got back into office? NATO pawn and they kept PUSHING - because they knew if Putin invaded they would claim the moral highground - and you saw the propaganda laid thick and heavy here. People STILL replace their US flags with Ukrainian ones in their bios.

And I say - AGAIN - If Putin is such a threat that he’s literally the next Hitler and we supposedly have the moral highground then WE MUST GO TO WAR WITH PUTIN NOW and have boots on the ground in Ukraine.

And if you claim that would be worse than you’ve just idly sucked up the propaganda kool-aid hook, line and sinker.

You are correct. The current Ukraine/Russia conflict has way more parallels with WW1 than with WW2.

Putin is not Hitler. He’s more like Kaiser Wilhelm II, opportunistic and prideful.

And when you think about it, everyone on both sides of the current Ukraine/Russia conflict is opportunistic and prideful. Don’t back down! Just one more big push should do it.

Meanwhile, Christians in trenches slaughter each other as artillery whines overhead. Just like in 1914-1918.

10% for Johnson as a tip?

I’m pretty sure there’s some kind of payoff for Johnson to have so quickly given in to the nasty, crooked Democrats.

This has the stench of Biden’s diapers all over it.
