It was the dreaded Moms’ Night Out at my son’s exorbitantly expensive Montessori preschool.
There were a few aged rock stars and insufferable list B-actors with children at this school, but that wasn’t going to stop me from providing my firstborn with excellence in developmental education that mainly seemed to involve depositing smooth pebbles into various bowls using hand-hewn stone implements.
We were just digging into pizza and our third bottle of Chianti when a stylish, glossy-haired mother of two started talking about her daughter, who was three. In a voice filled with breathless anticipation, she described her plans for when her baby would enter the sexual marketplace. “I just want her to know she can tell me anything. As soon as she gets her period, I’m totally taking her to get on the pill. I just want us to be close.”
She turned to me. “Have you thought about when you’ll put your daughter on the pill?” My daughter was one at the time.
There aren’t a lot of street pimps in the suburbs of America. We don’t need them: we have affluent white female liberals, or “AWFLs,” as the Internet calls them. The expression “to turn out” comes from prison and street hooker culture. Pimps “turn out” girls; turn them into prostitutes and offer them up to customers. Getting “turned out” is what these bad boyfriends do to impressionable young girls.
I only learned these terms from the blistering streetwalker documentaries HBO used to run in early 2000s, before they discovered Prestige Rape Drama. But the term fits exactly what middle- and upper-middle class families are doing to their daughters. They don’t actually want them to grow up into hookers, but the end results are sort of the same.

Er no, birth control pills are not the same as cortisol shots. I’m in my mid-30’s and have been on the pill since I was 13 to regulate my hormones without any damage to my immune system. Maybe leave the medical advice to the guys and gals with medical degrees?
New cars have four wheels, an engine and go from A to B. What else is there to know about the mechanical aspects of the vehicle? Aside from that you either find it appealing or not.
Pardon my somewhat coarse comment, but who wants to buy a pair of shoes 25 other guys have already worn?
Or gals. A guy with an STD or 2 being chased for child support payments by multiple women is not husband material. And as I said in a previous comment he isn't necessarily any better "in the sack" than a virgin. Way too many American men think they can ride the pussy carousel and then demand a virgin wife once they've "sowed their wild oats". If they wanted a traditional family lifestyle maybe they should have thought of that before. Just my 0.02.

Too long to read. I have no stake and am glad of it. Children gone and nary a grand child in sight. My little world is safe for today though the situation of others is tragic.

They are being told that their worth is only in being a sexual object, not a loving mother. Maternal and paternal feelings are being mocked and completely discouraged.
It's still a problem if your boys bring back their future spouses to America. Ultimately, they'll become Americanized due to our toxic culture. So they'll have to move permanently and live overseas in a country like the Philippines, Colombia or UAE.

Not likely. Those types generally become LUGs (Lesbian Until Graduation), whilst they’re in college. It’s part of the campus activist package. (unless, of course, they fall under the spell of one of the Campus Muslim Brotherhood groups, and wind up converting, and putting themselves under a hijab or a keffiyeh)

Um... both are hormones and hormonal usage over time (if you can’t avoid it) has health consequences. There are studies linking birth control hormones to cancers... but there just studies... but you’re right, there’s a some data plug in’s to usuage. Age, health, genetic background. And again these are studies... how much do you understand studies and what value does one apply to studies is a decision point.

It is horrible. I feel sympathy for both young women and men.
In the past, even with all the uncertainty in the world, you might still meet a mate. Rules and codes were largely know, understood, and generally agreed upon.
As crappy as the world might be at a given moment, you might meet the gaze of someone of the opposite sex, and anything could happen.
Now?
I just don’t know. It is beyond my ken. I have a hard time putting myself into the shoes of a young man today who might be looking for a mate, a life partner.
But I suppose that is just me, being old. With all the weirdness, transgenederism, homosexuality, legal angles and such...how would a young person navigate all that?
It is as if everything is fluid and nothing is stable, like having two feet with each one in a separate canoe, and neither of them fixed to a dock.
I feel sorrow for them.
My doctor made the call that my being on the pill was a better outcome than letting my polycystic ovarian syndrome destroy my health and fertility. Do you think you know better than my doctor?
