UK Announces Largest-Ever Ukraine Aid Package, Warns Putin ‘Won’t Stop at Polish Border’

Apparently taking the example of Washington, London committed Tuesday to deliver more military hardware and another £500 million in aid to Kyiv as UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak warned that Vladimir Putin will seek to expand further into Europe if Ukraine loses to Russia.

Britain will supply Ukraine with 60 boats, 400 vehicles, over 1,600 missiles, and nearly four million rounds of ammunition as well as £500 million in additional military funding, in the largest single aid package from the UK since the Russian invasion of 2022 and taking the country’s total contributions to £3 billion during this financial year, The Guardian reports.

Because people prefer to spend money we don’t have on our own southern border in lieu of blindly supporting a nasty, persistent little dictator who won’t allow free elections is not a reason to call them “Ugly Americans.”

Those “Ugly Americans” of whom you speak are the ones here at FR jubilantly lauding, celebrating only the Russian side of the carnage and death ongoing there.

Ukraine can definitely throw bodies at Russia, as Russia is throwing bodies at Ukraine.

Which country has more bodies to throw?

“It’s shameful to see people here act like ugly Americans when that country is being destroyed and it’s people dying in battle, and we sit on our couches and make comments about how they haven’t done much.”

Why is it our obligation? Why don’t you do something besides bitching at us and go and fight?

“so when Iran gets a nuke and sends it our way on their ICBM, we deserve to be nuked, right?”

No, we don’t, but Iran will certainly deserve the martyrdom which follows.

Being “nuked” by a power like Iran or North Korea is an inconvenience resulting in eradication of the sender.

Provoking a general nuclear exchange with Russia or China is the effective end of the world.

Try to focus on what’s actually important. If/when Iran makes a nuke (and I did not know until a few days ago that the religious leadership of Iran has forbidden it), it’s going to Tel Aviv, not to here.

Why don’t they take all that money and bribe Putin to leave. Could offer him all the hardware too! Might be a better plan.

You imagine there is only one nuke - but Iran’s plan is to trigger an all out nuclear war.

And the Mad Mullahs think the more Iranians dead the better, as that blood will help lure the 12th Imam out of the Well he’s lived in since 640 AD.

He will go one to kill every single human alive, bringing everyone to Paradise.

This is actually important, but the Mullahs want everyone to take your stance and ignore them. Ask The Israelis who have know this truth about the Mullahs since they came to power.

Which country has the higher kill ratio: Russian die at a rate of 7:1 these days. And all is not well at home either.

“Iran’s plan is to trigger general nuclear war”

Fine. They don’t have the capability, and will never have the capability. They are going to nuke Tel Aviv and maybe Dimona, and call it a day.

I know all about apocalyptic Twelver theology. It interests me not at all that they can make a bomb, they cannot replicate the incredible harm that would be caused by a general exchange between the US and Russia or China.

Nuclear Iran is Israel’s problem - and I agree it’s a big one.

Why don’t you go and fight somebody big mouth.

We don’t just do things because it’s our responsibility we do it because it’s in our best interests.

Fact many of you wave your hands run around in circles and yell like you’re on fire all about corruption and homos and every other thing you can think of has nothing to do with analyzing this war.

By the way whenever I tell my wife about these arguments on free Republic, she always says that the anti Ukraine people sound just like communists the arguments are the same.

As of January 2024:

Russian deaths 42,284 (Radio Free Europe):

https://www.rferl.org/a/ukraine-russian-troops-death-toll/32784518.html

Ukrainian deaths, as of Nov. 2023 “…more than 30,000…” (Kyiv Post):

https://www.kyivpost.com/post/24173

These are independent numbers, if anything, that would favor Ukraine.

There's something less than a 1.4:1 ratio between Russian and Ukrainian deaths.

Even without NATO, who seriously thinks Russia could get into Poland? Poland’s military is much more professional and ready than Ukraine’s. Not to mention, Russian logistics can ‘t even reach Kiev, and people think they can support operations three times further outside their borders?

"so when Iran gets a nuke and sends it our way on their ICBM, we deserve to be nuked, right?"

If Iran nukes us, you can thank Joe Biden. And I hope you don't think that Europe is going to come to our financial aid if ever happened. That's a pipe dream. We aren't the nannies of the world. We can't even protect our own border from invasion, let alone protect ourselves from a nuclear attack. I grew up in the 50's and 60's, and lived with the threat of nuclear war every day. We weren't prepared back then either, but we always seem to have enough tax payer money to shell out to foreign countries to protect themselves.

"Everyone acknowledges that the Uke Army is collapsing as we type. If you believe the Russian Menace narrative, why would you sacrifice your air defense to the losing Uke cause when the Ruskies will be at the gates of Paris, Rome and Brussels by fall?"

I don 't believe the Russian menace scenario, because the RATS and the media are pushing it. And I don't give a crap if it is true, because this country has already shed billions of taxpayer dollars and thousands of lives saving Europe's ass twice in the past. Third time is not the charm. We've been fighting proxy wars with Russia and China since the Korean War. When does it stop?
