Karl Rove: Biden, Trump Debate Would Be ‘Most Important’ Since 1980
Breitbart ^ | 04/26/2024 | Pam Key

Former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove said Friday on Fox News Channel’s “The Story” that a debate between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden would be the most significant in decades.

When asked if there would be a debate earlier on the Howard Stern radio show, Biden said, “I am, somewhere. I don’t know when, but I am happy to debate him.”

Host Martha MacCallum asked, “Karl Rove how important is a debate?”

True. The only way Republicans of that era ever won was by cobbling together a tenuous majority of voters, pleasing none of them but getting their votes because they disliked the opponent even more. In that era of politics, Rove was successful - at least for a time.

Twenty years later and Trump has built a movement of voters who actually like him and what he stands for. That puts old-style Republicans like Rove, who have spent years trying to lower the base’s expectations, in a bad light.

What about vice president debates?

Can’t have one without the other.

“I am happy to debate him.”

I would love to have been a fly on the wall watching his handlers and minders when he said that. They are probably still scraping brains off the walls.

No way in heck can Biden debate Trump without showing his dementia. For big speeches like the State of the Union, Biden was hopped up on stimulate drugs and even then couldn’t follow the teleprompter. He needs cue cards for press conferences with the question, answer and a picture of the reporter. Bidens handlers will think of some lame excuse why he won’t debate Trump.

Trump leads. There is no need to debate.

And if he is pressured and forced to, the conditions will be strictly independent journalists from right wing media organizations in mid America as the moderators. Under no circumstances will moderators from MSM organization Swamps be allowed.

If the Biden team refuses, that is their choice. Trump has a lead. He would lose nothing from a Biden refusal of those conditions.

Anyone wearing an earpiece in a debate is obviously being advised and controlled by people behind the scenes, and is in no way the authentic man or woman in the debate.

Earpieces should be banned from Presidential debates.

Wrong. It would be the least important since… forever.

Debates are important when the candidates are unvetted - they give a newcomer the chance to impress the voting public. They do not benefit an incumbent.

Everyone knows Trump and everyone knows Biden - so even though Trump would technically mop the floor with Biden - a debate would be a complete waste of time for both - since no minds would be changed.

Biden’s pants could fall down, exposing his overflowing diaper for all the world to see, and he would not lose a single Democrat vote.

I wish that before Fox News or CNN organizes of the usual ambush “debates” President Trump would take the initiative and have Real Americas Voice host a debate with Steve Bannon, Charlie Kirk and Lou Dobbs moderating.

Biden would never agree to that, but it would give President Trump the upper hand - no more Fox News or CNN hit jobs.

There wouldn’t even be a need to prepare for it since it already happened in 2020. Only change I would make is pick three random people off the street to moderate.

Anybody that needs to see a debate to determine who is better for the country must have his brain up where the sun don’t shine.
