'Aggression against Palestine': Turkey suspends export and import operations with Israel

Turkey on Thursday suspended all export and import operations with Israel due to what it described as its "aggression against Palestine in violation of international law and human rights," the Turkish Trade Ministry announced, according to the Anadolu news agency.

"Since the first day, our country has rushed to the aid of the people of Gaza, delivered tens of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to the region by ships and planes, especially food, health and medical aid materials, evacuated thousands of patients and stood by our Palestinian brothers and sisters in these difficult days," the ministry said.

"However, the massacre, humanitarian catastrophe and physical destruction caused by Israel continued, and the Israeli government ignored international ceasefire efforts and prevented humanitarian aid," it added.

Turkey will strictly and decisively implement these new measures until the Israeli government allows the uninterrupted and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, it noted.

Well it’s possible things could work out that way. I just remember the struggle they had removing the settlers from Gaza - removing them all from the West Bank will be even harder. Then there are the security concerns. It’s going to be extremely difficult resolving any of this in a way acceptable to both sides.

Yes the recent calls for censorship have been from Netanyahu. I was just referring to the propensity of Jews always trying to control the narrative. They do this with things other than just Israel. It’s a big part of leftist politics in this country.

If something like Sachs suggested could work, then it would be like the way Kosovo was separated out from Serbia. The world would create a temporary unified army like what was done in the Gulf Wars. They would then give Israel an edict to evict all the Israeli settlers from the West Bank and East Jerusalem by a set time.

Lunacy. The creation of the jihdadist rebel state "Kosovo" in the heart of Europe was despicable enough. But Israel IS the only Jewish state, the historical lands of the Jews for 4000 years.

Jews in the so-called "west bank" are not "settlers." There is no "East Jersusalem." The Arabs there came in with the Jordanian invasion and annexation of the "west bank" in 1948, and kicked 190,000 Jews from their homes in Judea and Samaria and Jerusalem, and barred Jews from even worshipping at the remnant of their Temple. The Arab mosques on the Temple Mount are a historical abomination, part of the most brutal colonizers in World history - with only Spain/Portugal, Israel and India managing to liberate themselves from the monstrous barbarism of Islam.

Israel would use every nuke in its arsenal to prevent what the scumbag Russian puppet Sachs is proposing. And they would be right to do so.

That's one narrative which a large number of people believe. There is another conflicting narrative which is believed by a different large group of people.

Just restating the one narrative over and over again expecting the other group to succumb to it is the definition of lunacy.

What you seem to be proposing is the "Greater Israel" solution. Maybe that is the correct, or the just solution, but it hasn't happened yet and will continue to be resisted by much of the World.

We can see a continuation of the present condition where Palestinian terrorists attack Israel followed by Israeli attacks on Palestinians. This tit-for-tat can go on for centuries. Maybe thousands or tens of thousands of people will be killed over those centuries. Maybe that's the best "solution" since there are millions of Israelis and Palestinians.

But as we saw this time around, there was a possibility that what was happening in Israel and Gaza could have exploded into WWIII if Iran and Israel had escalated their attacks beyond what they did.

It seems there are some people who are okay with this. They seem to think that something like that will signify the beginning of the End Times.

Even if the Bible can be correctly interpreted to show that the world will be utterly destroyed by nuclear war before Jesus returns, I don't think it is a very Christian thing to wish for it to happen.

Who gets the West Bank? Jordan? Jordan will never give the Palis what they want.

The PLO allied with Hamas and Hezbollah? Just how big an army are you going to permanently station there? And how does it not “oppress” the Palis any less than about 5x the situation with Gaza before Oct. 7? Because Israel is essentially indefensible in this day and age, with those pre-1967 borders. And, make no mistake: A Sadat or the King of Jordan can come to a reasonable accommodation with Israel, without Hamas-types involved. Hamas and Hezbollah and more importantly the mullahs in Iran will NEVER accept such a solution. The most you’ll ever get from them is temporary retreat and recover. Hamas and its buddies in particular are the worst parts of the Quran personified. You can’t use western type thinking or assumptions of “reasonable” behavior in any way, shape, or form, to evaluate how they will act. It’s like trying to assign what WE think of as human norms to fire ants.

Make no mistake either: Iran’s gov’t hasn’t the slightest interest in the wellbeing of Palestinians or Houthis or any of their other proxies. They are simply a tool to get to Iran’s goals, ONE of which is the destruction of Israel. Until there is a big time power swap in Tehran, there is no end to this. Maybe there is very temporary respite if Iran is kicked in the nuts hard enough, or can be made to think THEY are near destruction, but that’s about it. They are otherwise completely alien* to a western mindset. The mullas will (and do) tell us that themselves, proudly.

*Some would say “inhuman”, but again that is strictly from our own mindset. To an extent, it’s literally in their genetics.

(As an aside, how long does it take to breed a reliably vicious dog? 3 generations? It doesn’t take much because you are going back to an earlier nature. Much as with humans - our veneer is pretty thin.

Our “Western” (sort of) genetics are imperfect too, and likely devolving, but that’s a different and very long discussion. Tho’ I will restate my long held contention that if Europe heavily re-arms, as it almost certainly will if Pooty comes out so much as “even” in Ukraine” and the US fades further from the global scene, with or without Russia, Europe becomes the most dangerous region on Earth.)

The only real difference with Iran’s mullahs, vs., say, Hamas, is that the mullahs have bigger goals and may be more patient.

So, I ask again, is your peacekeeping army big enough to control Iran’s proxies (including the 150k missile inventory of Hezbollah) backed by the assets of Iran?

Don’t get me wrong. I wish a “peacemaker” army could work. But as long as Iran “is” as it is, it can’t.

The Israelis, at least most of them, understand. And they WILL use their nukes if sufficiently threatened. That is not a “narrative”.

Has anybody asked Erdy what his civilians to “terrorists” killed ratio is in Turkey’s actions?

Someone should.

F’ing hypocrite.

So if a country attacks another country that has a gay leader.
Then the gay leader’s country attracts back.
Can the world then boycott gay people.

Turkey doesn’t give one gobble about the “Palestinians.” Turkey is not taking in any Gaza refugees.

The population of Israel (not counting Gaza or the West Bank) is 20% Palestinian Arab, but Turkey and the entire Muslim world are silent when Hamas and Iran and Hezbollah send bombs indiscriminately to kill the people of Israel.

Yeah. Yawn. Tried before. Mercedez Benz refused to bow to Saudi pressure, and continued selling their high-end cars to Israel and Janis Joplin. And so on and so forth. Turkey interfering with international commerce cannot end well for them. But it’s Erdogan’s funeral.

Israel can compromise down to being 10 sq. km size and Hamas, etc., will still fully intend to erase it. Neither would Iran’s mullahs’ long term goals have changed.
