Johnson Vows to Protect Jack Smith Hours After Democrats Save His Speakership
Breitbart ^ | 05.09.2024 | BRADLEY JAYE

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) wasted little time after 163 Democrats voted to save his speakership to announce he would not use Congress’s constitutional power of the purse to stop special counsel Jack Smith’s “lawfare” against Donald Trump.

The Speaker, in some of his earliest public comments after Democrats saved his gavel, refused to make any attempt to defund Smith’s office as it continues its prosecutions of Trump.

“That’s not something you wave a wand and just eliminate the special counsel as a provision,” Johnson told Politico. “There is a necessity for a function like that, because sometimes the Department of Justice — which is an executive branch agency — can’t necessarily, without a conflict of interest, investigate or prosecute the president who’s their boss, or the president’s family.”

Is Trump infallible? Johnson is a turncoat. If Trump had a hand in his selection, it was a bad choice. He remains the Obiwan, however.

This would never pass in the current House.

To Hakeem passing 50 things fr packing SCOTUS to convicting Pres Trump is the same as passing a spending bill.

And yet so many think they are more informed than Pres Trump.

Trump supported Johnson’s nomination. He didn’t vote for this asshat.

Some think Trump can replace Johnson as he desires. He can’t.

Mitch McConnell became the Party Leader almost 20 years ago (2006).

I can see a lot of damage by Johnson working with Dems that Prop him up. There’s no shortage of RINOs.

The Republicans had the House and Senate for Trump’s first couple years - and they launched Mueller and Investigation after Investigation of Trump.

Thats the reality.

You say: “The only way out of this is to get rid of the Deep State. But doing that will require the Presidency and at least a majority in the House.”
I say: The only way out of this is for Trump to lead a movement for the creation of a new political party.
When the Whigs lost their way, men like Fremont and Lincoln led America forward in the creation of something new. The time is long overdue to dump the Republican Party.

Pres Trump/MAGA are the only reasons that we have any say at all in the House.

Our say basically preventing a tidal wave of more commie/Marxist crud to destroy the nation further.

She may be an attention whore, but that’s no big deal. There’s an ego factor active in everyone who actively seeks a position of authority over others.

She is definitely not stupid. I’ve heard a couple radio interviews that she’s done. Any shortcomings I may attribute to her (a bit impulsive in her speech and actions), I would attribute to inexperience.

She’s great at rocking the boat, and there needs to be a lot more boat-rocking done if anything is ever going to get fixed in the swamp.

And with all that said, she’s kinda good-looking, but her eyes are too close together. It’s a little disconcerting when you look at her, but I wouldn’t mind if she ate crackers in bed.

The uni-party wants to gain control of congress to block Trump. Johnson will stop at nothing to force his own ouster and do his part. It's a devil's bargain, won't be pretty to see how it all turns out. It's a fact of life, until we have a party that represents us. I would call it the Freedom Party because freedoms are increasingly appealing to many these days. Make them hold to a new platform that's not ambiguous.

Johnson said that he’s been talking with Trump almost every day. There may be more to all this than meets the eye.

OK, Tyrell.

From "The Sacketts:

Tyrell Sackett (To Orrin): "You know something, big brother? That yellow-haired, narrow-between-the-eyes gal is gonna be causing you a lot of trouble. She's pretty, and that can stop the best of men from thinking straight. Even you."

But I mostly like her too. Congress would be better off with a hundred like her.

Trump will not have a second term. He will do himself in again with his picks. He is truly clueless.

The only way the House can defund at this moment is if the Senate goes along with it - which they’re not going to do. They did have the ability to shutdown the government to pressure the Senate into going along but they gave that up in March when they passed their spending bill. The next opportunity won’t come again until September when funding expires again.

“Democrats save his speakership”

Only 11 Republicans voted to remove him. 32 Democrats voted to remove him - among them were The Squad and their allies.

So if the Democrats had voted to remove him instead along with the mere 11 Republicans, would the headline from this author have been “Democrats sink Johnson’s speakership”? Or “MTG teams up with AOC and the Squad to remove Johnson from speakership”?

Here’s the roll call vote: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/interactive/2024/05/08/house-speaker-vote-mike-johnson-motion-to-vacate/

Well, Trump is smarter than you the important thing is to win the election don’t sow chaos and disunity, Johnson will not be next speaker next year if GOP hold congress...more than half of GOP conference voted against Ukraine bill, with more GOP congress people who are Trampers coming next year...he is the last vestige of the establishment...good deceiver RINO though.
