*Amors, Apollos, and Atens are the three categories of Near-Earth asteroids (NEAs). Amor asteroids approach the Earth's orbit from the outside, Apollo asteroids cross the Earth's orbit, and Aten asteroids approach the Earth's orbit from the inside. Potentially Hazardous asteroids (PHAs) are larger than ~200 m (0.1 mile) and approach close enough to present a potential hazard but not a current hazard.

"In October we have discovered 2 NEAs with NEAT: 2 Amors.." Are we near a 'swarm'?

That was my first thought. Those Flaming Death from the Sky movies always feature a few smaller impacts before ILM kicks in with the money shots of planet wide destruction...

"Spooky stuff falling from space over England? Time to call you know Who." LOL. I used to watch Dr. Who every Saturday night. What a hoot. (Loved it)

Last night, looking North-East, around 9:00 I saw two incredibly bright flashes just below the horizon. It was a mostly clear night. their was no indication that their was thunderstorm activity and their was no sound of thunder. could this have been the same event? BTW I live in Michigan.

"could this have been the same event? BTW I live in Michigan." Don't know but, not likely. Maybe another? After the 1908 Tunguska event, people in London were able to read newspapers outside at midnight from the 'glow'.

I'm amazed anything could be seen in the typically thick cloud-shrouded skies of England. The number of clear-sky days in an ordinary year could be counted on two hands.

"I'm amazed anything could be seen in the typically thick cloud-shrouded skies of England. " It's caused by the Gulf Stream.

Fox News just did a 'headline' announcement on this incident. No details though.

What's up with all this 'stuff' suddenly falling out of the sky? It probably won't be a single asteroid that gets us, but a swarm. Several smaller ones then one big one. Then several smaller ones, but who will notice?
