Dear HBO:
I am writing to inform you of my plans to cancel my subscription to HBO. I will not support your company if you are going to pander to the anti-American Hollywood crowd. Bob Costas has invited Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon on his show to make a political point. That is his right. I am now exercising my right to cancel my HBO subscription.
Loyal Americans will not forget those that spoke out against America in its war on terrorism. I will also forward this to other like-minded Americans that will follow suit and express their contempt for these people via their wallets!

Sportscaster Bob Costas says officials were wrong to nix the upcoming event in the wake of anti-war statements by Hollywood stars Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon, and he's looking to stage the event on his own cable TV program.
Costas says he's invited the stars of the film to appear on HBO's "On The Record" "not to talk about the controversy, but re-create what they would have done up in Cooperstown."

Don't be silly. That's just one show on the network. Dennis Miller is pretty much pro Bush.

Solution: get a cable descrambler. Oh my! What's next? You are going to download mp3's, too?

Err, first off, Dennis Miller's show was canceled last year.
Secondly, I'm of the opinion that it was canceled because he was getting far too pro-war and militant for the suits at HBO.
Take as you will.

Dennis Miller is just "fair and balance" for Bill Maher.

"We will pursue them as war criminals. We will work with all the free people in the world, and they are many, who want someone to bell the cat [i.e.; to do a daring deed], and now we are belling the cat, according to the famous [Arabic] saying so as to rid the UN of those villains. After Iraq aborts the invasion that is being carried out by the American and British villains, the USA will no longer be a superpower. Its deterioration will be rapid. I say to those villains who are meeting in Europe, thinking of launching psychological war and brainwashing: wait. Do not be hasty because your disappointment will be huge. You will reap nothing from this aggressive war, which you launched on Iraq, except for disgrace and defeat. Iraq will continue to exist. Its civilization is 10,000 years old. It will not be changed by villains like the US and British villains."

It's true. Miller was pushed out by HBO because of his politics (or specifically, his constant attacks on Hillary).

It certainly is your right to cancel your HBO subscription because of what Bob Costas has done. It would be your right to cancel because Costas reminds you too much of Gilbert from "Leave It To Beaver".
I do have to question though, to how many levels of indirection are you going to take this? If Costas wrote a book, would you boycott the stores that sold it?
It could get ridiculous after a while.

Is Costas' HBO show a sports show? If so, I can't imagine SS or TR has anything informative to say about baseball (or anything else).

Aside from having underwritten part of the production for The Tuskegee Airmen a few years ago, who needs HBO?

I already cancelled my subscription to HBO after seeing Bill Maher's new show. On its premier episode, they were talking about the designs for the WTC memorial building. He actually suggested that the top floor of this soaring memorial should dedicated to a meuseum on "why they hate us"...
HBO cancelled Dennis Miller's show to replace it with this garbage... Can you believe it?

Isn't this the channel that produces "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel"?

Check ESPN baseball site and read Peter Gammon's piece. He also jumps on the HOF for supporting this. Gammons lives in leftist Boston, so it is no surprise he takes the left's side. Another puke liberal spouting off.

About six years ago I cancelled my cable on the grounds that I was watching it just because it was there, and not because it had anything worth watching (yes, there are exceptions, but they are rare). Why watch a well-made TV show on an interesting subject when you can read a well-written book on the same topic?
My decision is validated every time I'm in a hotel room watching TV.

I canceled my People Magazine Subscrip.... And my Texas Monthly Supscrip. And I will not be purchasing Lipton Tea anymore. They can whine all they want and We the People can re-act all we want.
