“As I’ve said a million times before, a church’s true doctrine is what they allow with impunity. Forget the official, written dogma.”

Well, I have never been a fan of organized religion. It seems that they are more prone to falling away from the true doctrine as the years go by. And as a non-denomination Christian, over the years (decades), I have become more and more convinced that that is the best way to be.

I have been just as disappointed in well-known pastors as I have been in well-known politicians. I actually used to like Joel Osteen.... before I figured out what he really was (a motivational speaker getting filthy rich by pretending to be a man of God).

The essence of the New Covenant is a personal relationship with God.

The institutional relationship of the Old covenant was changed(curtain torn, etcJ). But men LIKE the institutional relationship, why is that?

I think referring to "organized religion" needs to be modified. There is organization required in any earthly human endeavor. But I get your point. We can organize beyond the mission. The tools become more important that the Object.

I never was a Joel Osteen fan although I kind of liked his dad.
