Leaders of the First Unitarian Church of Dallas cut the ribbon Friday on a new pregnancy resource center that aims to provide comprehensive reproductive health information and to act as a foil for crisis pregnancy centers.
The Truth Pregnancy Resource Center is a direct reaction to Texas’ strict abortion bans that made the procedure illegal in all cases but those that threaten the life of the mother. Abortion clinics around the state shuttered, limiting access to women’s health care providers in regions already known to be maternal care deserts.
Doors down from the now-closed Southwestern Women’s Surgery Center, which offered abortions, the new pregnancy center will provide counseling, sonograms, and information about all possible outcomes of pregnancy, from adoption to parenthood to traveling to have an abortion in neighboring states.
“This is a little bit of redemption for [former Southwestern Women’s staff]” said Rev. Daniel Kanter, CEO and senior minister at First Unitarian. “And none of this is really about me at all. It’s about the opportunity to do good in the world, to have a church say that this issue around reproductive dignity matters.”
First Unitarian has long been steeped in the world of abortion advocacy, with ties to the movement pre-dating the Roe vs. Wade decision in 1973. Like the overarching Unitarian-Universalist denomination, the Dallas church takes a pro-reproductive choice stance.
The church already partners with an abortion fund in New Mexico to fly abortion seekers from North Texas to Albuquerque. Church leaders said they were trying to fill the resource vacuum left when abortion clinics shut down and OB-GYN offices felt limited in what they could say because of restrictive state laws.

I figured it would be a United Church of Christ (Obama church) or maybe a United Methodist or any number of fag friendly churches around these days.
Absolutely.
Back in the day, when airline fares were regulated, Delta offered an “Early Bird” flight to New York from Atlanta - Night Coach rates for a flight that left just before the daily fare hike (I think it was before 7AM for the cheaper flight). Fly up in the morning, get an abortion, fly back on the Owly Bird (also night coach rate) and only miss one day of work or school.
Correction on the hours for Day Coach and Night Coach fares invited.
Unitarians aren’t Christian’s so they can’t have a real church.

“Church” - one of the most ill-used vocabulary words of the day... This is a synagog of Satan - and was long before they launched direct support of infanticide.
This “church” also did a ceremony honoring the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, “Go forth and sin some more!”
One sign of the real Church: it doesn’t kill babies.
