Donald Trump Jr. is furious with Instagram because he says the social media platform issued a warning to users searching his name. After noticing a massive loss of followers in the past few weeks, President Trump’s oldest son claimed to have discovered a warning message issued to Instagram users and expressed his outrage in a post to the platform Friday night. He tagged Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, which owns Instagram. “REALLY?!?! Are you fricken kidding me? @zuck this is insane,” he wrote. “I get that my 3 year old Chloe can be pretty aggressive as are a few...

The U.S. government once wanted to plan false flag attacks with Soviet aircraft to justify war with the USSR or its allies, newly declassified documents surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy show. In a three-page memo, members of the National Security Council wrote, "There is a possibility that such aircraft could be used in a deception operation designed to confuse enemy planes in the air, to launch a surprise attack against enemy installations or in a provocation operation in which Soviet aircraft would appear to attack US or friendly installations to provide an excuse for U.S. intervention." The...

Photo: TAI Ankara and Islamabad have signed a deal for the sale of 30 Turkish attack helicopters, according to an election manifesto the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) announced Thursday. In a November 2017 interview with the Anadolu Agency, Pakistani Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said his country planned to procure 30 attack helicopters and four naval ships from Turkey. Hussain revealed that Pakistan was interested in the T129 ATAK helicopter, developed by the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) and the Italy-based AgustaWestland, rebranded as Leonardo Helicopters in 2016. The gunship helicopter was added to the inventory...

Russia's Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has presented video of the country's new Su-57 fighter—you can read our full analysis on this often misunderstood aircraft here—launching a new cruise missile from its internal weapons bay. This is the first video we know of not only of this missile being tested, but also of the Su-57s weapons bays in use. In his statement, Shoigu mentions the Russian Ministry of Defense's large effort to test and evaluate new weapons on the Syrian battlefield, but it's not clear if this launch took place over the war-torn country or not. He says the test occurred...

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office has seen better days. After the horrific Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida last February, the law enforcement department has been under siege. First, there’s former Officer Scot Peterson, who was assigned to the school. He was the school resource officer, but never went into the building to confront shooter Nikolas Cruz, who was gunning down faculty and students. Video footage confirmed Peterson never went in, prompting outrage. He resigned after he was placed on unpaid leave. Then, after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman, another sheriff’s deputy is suspended for falling asleep...

LELAND, N.C. (WECT) - It's every mother's worst nightmare. On Sunday, April 15, Shawn Winkler shot himself in the head in the garage of his Leland family home. He was 30 years old. "Shawn started out as a very happy, loving boy, " said his mother Sarah Winkler in a document she sent to WECT news. On the day Shawn killed himself, Sarah said he began acting erratically and trashing his room. Shawn, armed with a gun, told his mother he was going to Holly Ridge to kill his girlfriend and five others. Sarah said Sean believed everyone was in...

Brazil’s conservative president Michel Temer has ordered the army and federal police to clear highways blockaded by striking truck drivers after a protest over soaring fuel prices entered its fifth day. The blockades have paralysed much of the country’s economy and prompted São Paulo, the biggest city in South America, to declare a state of emergency over fuel shortages. “I have actioned the federal security forces to unblock highways and I am asking governors to do the same,” Temer said in a televised address on Friday. “We will not let the population do without its primary needs.” The protests began...

As I have indicated in other columns on this page, Laudato Si is an astonishing collection of problematical statements the likes of which have never appeared in any papal encyclical, ranging from dubious scientific opinions to humanist social commentary addressed to “every person living on this planet,” to a grab bag of vague political and economic recommendations which are none of the Pope’s business. But what does it all mean? As Andrea Galgiarducci has so succinctly put it, “there is everything and nothing in ‘Laudato Si.’”One could write an entire book about this paradigmatic document, which signals what I would call a final, “post-Catholic”...

German churches stopped or delayed 498 deportations of asylum seekers in the first quarter of 2018, new government figures have shown. The new figures are no great increase on 2017, which saw 1,478 deportations prevented through church asylum throughout the year, but a significant increase on 2016, which saw only 527 cases in the whole year. The German interior ministry figures came from an official answer to a parliamentary question put by the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), which has long been critical of the German churches, despite insisting that Christianity is part of Germany’s cultural identity. The church tradition...

My wife saw Pat Bucahanan's recent book on Nixon for sale at Dollar Tree in hardback for $1. If you like Buchanan as an author, or respect him as an authority on Nixon, that's a hard bargain to pass up.

The Nebraska State Patrol says the nearly 120 pounds of suspected cocaine and fentanyl that troopers seized last month turned out to be all fentanyl, a deadly opioid that federal officials blame for thousands of deaths nationwide.

The patrol says the stash was a record fentanyl seizure in Nebraska and estimates the drugs may have been worth up to $20 million on the street. The Drug Enforcement Administration says just 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be lethal. The fentanyl seized was enough to kill 26 million people, according to DEA estimates.

The twelve apostles included "Thaddaeus" (Matt. 10:3). Victorious Christian living requires great courage. Thaddaeus was a man of many identities. In the King James translation of Matthew 10:3 he is called "Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus." He is also called "Judas the son of James" (Luke 6:16; Acts 1:13) and "Judas (not Iscariot)" (John 14:22). Judas, which means "Jehovah leads," was probably the name given him at birth, with Thaddaeus and Lebbaeus added later as nicknames to reflect his character. Apparently Thaddaeus was the nickname given to him by his family. It comes from a Hebrew root word that refers...

My fellow Democrats are increasingly becoming the kind of low-information voters they despise and think are only on the other side. I am an ordinary voter living far from the Beltway who feels gaslighted by our political and media establishments regarding the Russia investigation. Our current Yanny versus Laurel political moment is probably confusing even for professional political commentators. But for ordinary Americans it is a bewildering, disorienting spectacle. Which is it: Is Donald Trump a threat to the republic, or is the deep state the threat? Was the Russia investigation legit, or was it concocted by an out-of-control Federal...

“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” (Philippians 4:4). The apostle Paul was a model believer who did not let his troubles steal His joy in the Lord. According to today’s verse, believers should never let a negative outlook replace our joy, no matter how bad life seems to be. The apostle Paul set an example that was far different. He wrote to the Philippians that in spite of being imprisoned in Rome, he was still rejoicing. Even though Paul was restricted under trying and harsh conditions, he was glad because the gospel message was being declared,...

What is Hillary Clinton hiding? On Friday, Hillary Clinton stepped out into the sweltering Boston, MA heat in a heavy coat and scarf. According to various weather reports, it reached nearly 90 degrees in Boston on Friday. Hillary Clinton received the Radcliffe Award at Harvard on Friday. The twice-failed presidential hopeful told the audience she would be the CEO of Facebook given the chance “because it’s the biggest news platform in the world.” The Attorney General of Massachusetts, Maura Healey posted the photo of Hillary in the sweltering heat.
