Democrat Andrew Gillum holds a 6-point lead over Ron DeSantis (R) in the hotly contested gubernatorial campaign in Florida, according to a new poll. The Reuters–Ipsos–UVA Center for Politics poll found that 50 percent of voters surveyed support Gillum, compared to 44 percent who back DeSantis. The remaining percentage of voters said they support a different candidate or did not indicate support for any candidate. Gillum and DeSantis are running to replace outgoing Gov. Rick Scott (R), who is term-limited and running for Senate. The Cook Political Report, a nonpartisan election handicapper, rates the gubernatorial contest a “toss-up.” The Reuters...

A leaked survey conducted for the Republican National Committee (RNC) found that a majority of President Trump’s supporters don’t believe that Democrats have a chance to win back the House during November’s midterm elections. Bloomberg Business on Tuesday published the survey, completed by Public Opinion Strategies polling firm on Sept. 2. The results are likely to augment GOP fears about Trump's base not showing up for the midterms, when the president himself will not be on the ballot but House and Senate majorities are in play. ifty-seven percent of people who identified as strong Trump supporters said Democrats don’t have...

Republicans know what the midterm election polls say. They hear the talk about a blue wave. They're aware of historical party-in-power midterm losses in the House. But they still see something else, seven weeks out from election day. "It's like the hurricane cone," said one GOP strategist. "It's out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and the range of where it can land is huge, because there are a lot of things that are yet to happen that you have to understand." Notice the strategist did not predict Republicans will keep control of the House. Rather, he and others...

Montana Sen. Jon Tester and Missouri Sen. There were other times he could barely talk at all. During the Cleveland rally for Rich Cordray and Betty Sutton, Obama repeatedly talked about himself, despite the candidates sitting behind him. Several times, he stuttered as he attempted to attack President Trump and the success of recent Republican initiatives.

Former Attorney General Eric Holder said late Saturday that the "Make America Great Again mindset" is flawed and "rooted in fear." “This sort of thinking, this 'Make America Great' mindset is not only flawed, it’s rooted in fear. And it favors an imagined past over a realistic future," Holder said while speaking at the Human Rights Campaign National Dinner. Holder also questioned what time period people who want to "make America great again" would rewind to if given the chance, referring to President Trump's campaign slogan. ATLANTA (CBS46) - The latest poll has Republican Brian Kemp and Democrat Stacey Abrams in a statistical dead heat in the race for Governor of Georgia. The big poll -- who likely voters would vote for -- shows it's a tie, for now, so we asked two strategists to look at what the related polling results show to gauge where the race is going. Kemp and Abrams may be polling neck-and-neck in the latest UGA Survey Research Center Poll for WSB-TV, but Gov. Nathan Deal is casting a long shadow. Democratic strategist Tharon Johnson said he's not surprised at the...
