“I wear my collar along with my clinic escort vest...”
Since when do Presbyterians (PCUSA) wear a collar?
“But whoso shall offend one of these little one which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea” Matthew 18:6, Mark 9:42, Luke 17:2
You are correct. If I recall the numbers and I am going by memory, the Episcopal Church had 3.6 million baptized members according to the Canadian, North American Yearbook of Churches back in the mid 80s. At the same time the Methodists and Presbyterians were both losing members at hemorraghic rates mostly for the same reasons.
I remember that quote from the late 50s, early 1960s comedian, Brother Dave Gardner. I cannot recall if it was on his “Rejoice, Dear Hearts” album (ablum as he would say) or “Kick thine ownself” ablum. I vividly recall listening to these albums. Funny guy with biting social commentary.
I read another media report saying authorities have ruled out murder-suicide. The term “edged weapon” was used rather than simply stating a knife was used. Certainly seems to be a lack of specificity here.
I read from another source the P-63 pilot had approximately 30,000 flight hours. Obviously, I cannot verify this. It will come out soon enough. The videos I have seen here on FR do make it appear like the smaller plane flew into the B-17 but the videos on the Daily Mail present the supposition the B-17 flew into the P-63’s flight path. Their commentary says the same. These pilots are thoroughly checked out, vetted, trained on the particular aircraft and are well known to each other. They are briefed before the day’s flights with flight plans for the show as well as commo plans. Personally, I cannot believe any of this terrible tragedy is intentional. May God receive them into His arms of mercy and may He bless and comfort these families and loved ones.
In the mid nineties, I had dinner with two white professors who taught at an all black state university in the deep south. There were just a few white students on campus (less than 10 percent) and that was due to a court order. The professors told me the four year graduation rate was just barely ten percent.
