An attack this weekend on a young girl and two men by an American bully dog has reignited debate over whether the breed should be banned in the UK. The largest type, the American bully XL, can weigh more than nine stone (60kg) and are strong enough to overpower an adult. This weekend's incident was the latest involving the breed, they have been involved in several fatal attacks. Owners, however, insist that despite their fearsome appearance and build, the dogs make loveable household pets. What is the American bully? American bullies are said to have originated in the US in...

WASHINGTON — President Biden’s nearly two-year-old German shepherd Commander bit seven people in a four-month period after former first dog Major was ousted from the White House over similar aggressive behavior, according to internal Secret Service communications reviewed by The Post. The shocking spate of incidents involving Commander — none of them previously known — mirror attacks involving Major, who the White House says was given to family friends after biting many Secret Service members in 2021. In the most serious documented incident involving Commander, the White House physician’s office on Nov. 3, 2022, referred a bitten Secret Service uniformed...

President Joe Biden's dog Major was involved in yet another biting incident requiring medical attention. The notoriously unruly canine attacked a National Park Service employee just days after being returned to the White House. The dog had been forced to undergo training following a separate biting incident earlier this month. Equally disturbing were reports of a wayward turd deposited on the hallway outside the White House Diplomatic Reception Room. The seemingly unending canine-related chaos has many voters wondering whether Biden is fit to serve as commander in chief. As the saying goes: There are no bad dogs, only bad owners....

K-9 officer Schawn Barger was wrestling with a drug suspect Friday when a quick-release button on his belt was activated. That opened a door to his K-9 wagon, which allowed Dolpho, a 5-year-old German shepherd, to get free and run onto Margaret Street. The dog bit 9-year-old Brandon Livingston on the right leg and dragged him for about 20 feet, according to his mother Lorraine. Witnesses said Barger commanded Dolpho to stop at least four times, but the dog kept going after the boy, who is black. "We saw the policeman, then the dog, and we all started running...

The two German Shepherds belonging to President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden were returned to the Biden family home in Delaware last week after aggressive behavior at the White House involving Major Biden, two sources with knowledge tell CNN. Major, who was adopted by Biden in November 2018 from a Delaware animal shelter, had what one of the people described as a "biting incident" with a member of White House security. The exact condition of the victim is unknown, however, the episode was serious enough that the dogs were subsequently moved to Wilmington, Delaware, where they remain. CNN...

I'm looking for anyone with experience in this area ,, especially if you are a lawyer in Florida. I just had a dogbite case against me dismissed after a fight that went on for over 4 years. The dog did bite but in defense of me , the case truly had no merit and the plaintiff made ridiculous claims such as "permanent disability" that had no basis in fact and were disproved with video exhibits (and a total lack of medical documentation). I had about 500 hours of surveillance in this fight and about $1000 in miscellaneous out of pocket...

LITTLE ROCK (KATV)--After recent dog attacks and even some that resulted in deaths, Channel 7 explains what liabilities dog owners face after their dog attacks. Attorney Gary Green said a common misconception is the "one-bite" rule. Many still believe that if their dog bites for the first time, they're not liable. However, Green said in this day in age, where attacks are becoming too common, that rule is like an old wives tale. In the last year, we have reported at least six dog attacks, the most recent; an attack on Thursday in Hot Springs Village, resulting in the death...

GIRARD - The owner of the dog whose bite left a 12-year-old with more than 100 stitches is sorry the girl was injured but says she was not bitten while walking past the 15-month chocolate Labrador as she claims, rather because she was too close to it. "Destiny (Turner) walked over to Schnook and put her face next to the dog's face," Christina Morris said Thursday. "That's when he bit her face." The girl claims she was walking toward her house, 211 Broadview, about 7 p.m. Sunday when the chained dog leaped on top of her and began biting her...

The Pit Bull went for the baby on the grandparents' farm in Pontevedra. The father of a 23 month old baby boy who was killed by the family Pit Bull dog in the village of Pazos de Borbén in Pontevedra last weekend, has been charged by the Guardia Civil with negligent homicide, considering that he had not taken the necessary safety measures being the owner of a dog on the potentially dangerous breeds list. Oscar R.R. had however taken out civil responsibility insurance for the animal, which is obligatory in Spain for dangerous breeds.

UTE little Finn is lucky to be alive after he was attacked by two greyhounds at an off-leash dog park at Thornleigh last week. It is the second attack at the Dawson Ave park in a fortnight. In the other incident, a dog, believed to be a poodle, died after being attacked by a labrador. Two-year-old Finn required surgery and about 24 stitches after being attacked about 9.15am on Mother’s Day. “Two greyhounds ran down from the other end (of the park) and went straight for him and started chewing him,” Finn’s owner, Richard Bamber, said. He separated the dogs...

n Sunday around 7 p.m., Jana Juhasz was watching roping practice at the Fallen Badge Arena in the small town of Christine. Juhasz had been to the property before, but this time, she watched her two-year-old son nearly get killed in front of her. Juhasz says her toddler, Brock, was playing with some of the Australian Cattle dogs, or Blue Heelers. But then Brock tripped over one of the dogs, and the dog turned on him. Juhasz says the dog, "wasn't just mad. It wasn't just intending to hurt him. It was out to kill him." She ran toward her...

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WJZ) ― A Howard County man is recovering after a pit bull attacked him as he walked his dog. Mary Bubala reports the incident left the federal law enforcement officer with a severe hand injury and a broken heart. "He'd be sitting up in the window barking, knew I was home, and just the love from him," a still emotional Isaiah Harrison said. "I'm sorry. It's been over two weeks, but it seems like it happened just yesterday." Harrison did all he could to save his dog Stewie's life. As a pit bull lunged at them, he...
