Since 2009, President Obama has often reminded audiences of actions taken by the “previous administration,” nearly always to pass off responsibility for any bad news plaguing his White House. As recently as Saturday, Obama sought to deflect any culpability for Iraq’s deteriorating situation due to his decision to pull out all American troops by referencing the policies of the ”previous administration” of President George W. Bush. “What I just find interesting is the degree to which this issue keeps on coming up as if this was my decision,” Obama said. “Under the previous administration, we had turned over the country...

**SNIP** Indeed, when the question of using military force against Iraq was put before the U.S. Congress, 110 Democrats supported the 2002 Joint Resolution, which authorized President Bush to act as he ultimately did. Further, some very outspoken Democrats during that time said these sort of things including President Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, and Senator John F. Kerry. "[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to...

Day 2 of the government shutdown, and look out the window. The sun is still shining, and the sky is still blue. The birds are chirping. The Great Government Shutdown is not that big a deal, even for the government. The federal civilian workforce includes 2.9 million bureaucrats. Out of that, only 800,000 are being furloughed, or just 27%. Even for these workers, the shutdown just amounts to a paid vacation for a few days. Just like the overballyhood sequester, average Americans won’t notice any change in their lives at all. But for those you who are offended and indignant...

James Carville blames Bush for lack of support for war in Syria (Video) Joe Newby Spokane Conservative Examiner Related Photo: James Carville blames Bush for lack of support on Syria Alex Wong/Getty Images September 5, 2013 George W. Bush is turning out to be the most powerful president in history, with the capability of influencing public opinion five years after being in office without even saying a word. On Wednesday, James Carville blamed the former president for the fact that many Americans do not support Obama’s proposed military strike on Syria during an appearance on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor.”...

South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy has a prosecutorial demeanor, which is focused on the emerging Obama administration scandals. Gowdy’s experience of prosecuting an “America’s Most Wanted” suspect before coming to Congress makes him a valuable truth-seeker in the House of Representatives. Now, as a member of the oversight and judiciary committees, he has a front-row seat to ask questions of critical witnesses, as he did in the most recent Benghazi hearing. Some Democrats blame inadequate congressional funding for diplomatic security for last year’s terrorist attack against America’s consulate in Benghazi, but Gowdy says that’s just not so.

“The gun.” Trayvon was killed Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla., by neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman, who told police that a “confrontation” with the unarmed 17-year-old led him to shoot in self-defense. ...... Mr. Cosby, a Navy veteran, said “the gun” empowered Mr. Zimmerman, whose actions have stirred a firestorm of debate, protests and remarks from President Obama. ...... “We’ve got to get the gun out of the hands of people who are supposed to be on neighborhood watch,” said Mr. Cosby, whose remarks were the first he has made publicly about the case.

The United States was still a young nation when three major earthquakes rocked the central Mississippi River valley in the winter of 1811-1812. Chimneys fell, the earth heaved and church bells rang hundreds of miles away, set off by the powerful vibrations from what is now called the New Madrid Seismic Zone. As farmland rolled and shuddered, the shock waves spread as far as New York and the Carolinas. Now on the 200th anniversary of those devastating quakes, some seismologists are warning that the region should be on guard because of the risk that another "Big One" could strike the...

The Weather Channel says yesterday's east coast earthquake was caused by an unknown fault line running under D.C. and through Virginia. It is now being called Obama's Fault, though Obama will say it's really Bush's Fault. Other theories are that was the founding fathers rolling over in their graves or that what we all believed to be an earthquake was actually the effects of a 14.6 trillion dollar check bouncing in Washington.

SALMON, Idaho (Reuters) – Scientists at Idaho State University have mapped a previously unknown and active seismic fault in the northern Rockies capable of unleashing an earthquake with a magnitude as high as 7.5. The newly discovered fault in central Idaho does not lie in a densely populated area. But Glenn Thackray, chairman of the university's geosciences department, said the 40-mile-long fracture in the Earth's crust at the base of the Sawtooth Mountains near the tiny mountain town of Stanley is cause for some concern. "There's a chance in the next few decades there will be an earthquake on this...

Former President Jimmy Carter lashed out at the late Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.), who he blamed for lack of comprehensive healthcare in the U.S. Carter lashed out at Kennedy, who passed away in August of 2009, for the 1979 clash between the two over the national healthcare plan Carter had proposed. "The fact is that we would have had comprehensive health care now, had it not been for Ted Kennedy’s deliberately blocking the legislation that I proposed,” Carter said in an interview to air Sunday on "60 Minutes" on CBS. “It was his fault. Ted Kennedy killed the bill."

I’ve been meaning to write a more comprehensive post about the Gulf oil spill for more than a week and this post is my attempt to do so. But first I want to quickly note President Clinton’s comments about blowing up the well, and why some engineers think it’s a bad idea.

snip.... The Left has failed spectacularly in spreading the lie that the Gulf Oil disaster is anyway connected to President Bush. The well that’s destroying the Gulf of Mexico was approved by the Obama administration. Bush-era safety requirements were ignored because the Obama administration knew better, because, as Lightbringer, he was such a smartie and so full of hope and change that the usual safety protocols for deep sea drilling were not followed the way they were under Bush. While people we talked to this weekend did not realize this, they did reflect the general public perception that it’s absurd...

Geaorge W. Bush to be honored by the Obama Administration The Obama Administration will be honoring the 43rd President of the United States with a named geographical feature. The White House has already submitted a formal request to the U. S. Board on Geographical Names (this board was created in 1890 and updated in 1947). Obama's aides have asked them to name the fault-line in the tectonic area beneath Haiti after him. The area will now and hereafter be referred to officially as "Bush's Fault."

Arrow Trucking news is not good for employees, as the Arrow Trucking Company is closing its doors. The Arrow Trucking Company is rumored to be bankrupt now, but it seems that Arrow Trucking really didn't care about their employees in the end. It is being reported that some Arrow Trucking employees didn't find out they were out of a job until their gas cards were rejected while they were on the job across the country.

Bush initiates TARP funding program - bad (Bush's Fault) Economy gets worse - bad (Bush's Fault) Bankers and Wall Street get bailed out - bad (Bush's Fault) Banks pay back some of the bailout dollars to apply to the deficit - good! Obama uses the repaid dollars as a jobs-maker (slush fund) - great! SO Bush's Fault = Obama's Great?

Sunday, November 8, we published a piece entitled The enemy within. On Monday we were treated to this. And as ABC (bless their souls) has reported, there is a definite connection between the murderer of Fort Hood and Anwar al Awlaki. We would not advocate rounding up all Muslims and putting them in concentration camps. Not at all. But we would advocate identifying the individuals, organizations and institutions that harbor the Awlaki's and the Hasan's and deal with them effectively. Effectively enough to prevent another 9-11 or Fort Hood. It turns out that Nidal Hasan had attended the same Muslim...

Donning FDR's cape, Eisenhower's stripes and JFK's boat shoes, President Obama observed in Florida on Tuesday that his "clean energy economy" will require "mobilization" on the order of fighting World War II, building the interstate highway system and going to the moon. Of course, the only "mobilization" going on at the moment is on behalf of ethanol, whose many political dispensations the biofuels lobby is finding new ways to preserve even as the evidence of its destructiveness piles up. The latest embarrassment arrives via the peer-reviewed journal Science, not known for its right-wing inclinations. A new paper calls attention to...

From the time he entered the White House, President Obama frequently has spoken about having “inherited” an economic mess, and he has been criticized for it. But the expression arguably has been used even more often by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Nine months later, it is a theme she returns to regularly at home and abroad. During her most recent trip, a six-day visit to Western Europe and Russia earlier this month, Clinton used the phrase publicly at least four times on three occasions. At a joint press conference with her British counterpart David Miliband in London on October...
