Hoosier businessman Mike Braun leads Sen. Joe Donnelly (D-IN) in a poll released on Wednesday. A Fox News poll released on Wednesday found that Braun leads over Donnelly–45 to 43 percent—while Libertarian candidate Lucy Brenton has three percent support and eight percent of Indianans remain undecided. The margin of error for the survey is 3.5 percent, making the race a dead heat between Braun and the incumbent senator, especially considering that one-third of Hoosier voters are saying they could change their minds before the November midterm election. The Fox News survey found that 54 percent of Hoosiers approve of President...

Former National Security Agency Director Mike Rogers on Tuesday disputed a report published in May 2017 alleging that President Donald Trump asked him to push back against the FBI’s collusion investigation. “I’ve never had a discussion with collusion with the president of the United States,” Rogers said at an event held at George Mason University, according to CBS News. “I’ve never been directed to do anything, coerced — any time I had a discussion I felt I was able to say, ‘Hey, here’s my view on that.'” (RELATED: Director Of National Intelligence Says He Can’t Comment On Report That Trump...

STOCKHOLM (AFP) - The Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, said Wednesday that "Europe belongs to the Europeans" and that refugees should return to their native countries to rebuild them. Speaking at a conference in Sweden's third-largest city of Malmo, home to a large immigrant population, the Dalai Lama -- who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 -- said Europe was "morally responsible" for helping "a refugee really facing danger against their life". "Receive them, help them, educate them... but ultimately they should develop their own country," said the 83-year-old Tibetan who fled the capital Lhasa in fear of...

The National Hurricane Center has been issuing advisories for Hurricane Florence since August 30. The five day "Cone of Uncertainty" archive progression since Aug. 30 may be found here. As the super-size storm named Florence approached the U.S. Atlantic Coast, stories abound of people who are refusing to evacuate barrier islands. The 82nd Airborne has relocated all of its assets, while FEMA is using Fort Bragg as a major staging area for post-storm supplies, including meals, water and cots. Fort Jackson (Columbia SC) has cancelled events including basic training graduation to prepare for military and civilian evacuees from coastal locations....

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The median U.S. household income rose for a third straight year in 2017 and the poverty rate declined further, government data showed on Wednesday. The Census Bureau said in its Income, Poverty and Health Insurance Coverage and Supplemental Poverty Measure report that median household incomes increased 1.8 percent to $61,400 last year. “The median income is statistically tied to the pre-recession estimate for 2007 and 1999, the year with the highest estimated median household income,” said Trudi Renwick, an assistant division chief at the Census Bureau. “This holds true given that you account for changes in cost...

Wave heights to 83 ft were measured early this morning by satellite altimeter under the northeast quadrant of Hurricane Florence. These enormous waves are produced by being trapped along with very strong winds moving in the same direction as the storm's motion. Some strengthening is forecast through Wednesday night, drawing energy from the warm water. Its winds could approach Category 5 strength, which means winds of 157 mph or higher.

President Donald Trump’s America First energy policy has catapulted the United States to the world’s largest global crude oil producer, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). EIA’s Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO) report states preliminary estimates show the U.S. feasibly overtook Saudi Arabia and Russia to become the top crude oil producer earlier this year. The report notes U.S. crude production in February outstripped Saudi Arabia’s for the first time in over 20 years. Further, U.S. crude production in June exceeded Russia’s crude oil output for the first time since February of 1999. EIA data signals the U.S. will maintain...

In an Economist/YouGov poll released Wednesday, 34 percent of U.S. adults said they wanted to see Democrats retake control of the House, while another 32 percent said they wanted Republicans to maintain control of the chamber. Another 13 percent say they want control in the lower chamber to be split between the two parties, while more than 20 percent of respondents didn't have a preference between the two parties. Democrats hold an 8-point advantage...

FBI agent Peter Strzok conspired with his in-house lover to leak anti-Trump stories to the media in spring 2017 when he headed the Russia probe into the Trump campaign, a congressman said on Monday. Rep. Mark Meadows, North Carolina Republican, sent a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein saying a House task force had just received a new shipment of Justice Department documents. “Our review of these new documents raises grave concerns regarding an apparent systemic culture of media leaking by high-ranking officials at FBI and DOJ,” Mr. Meadows said. “Review of these new documents suggest a coordinated effort...

This past week I asked a friend at the White House about how the president was holding up against the onslaught of media attacks. "They didn't even deliver a glancing blow," was the response. It wasn't for a lack of trying. Has any president in modern times been the target of such a Blitzkrieg of orchestrated assaults -- from John McCain's funeral turned anti-Trump scrum to Bob Woodward's discredited new book trashing the president to the media infatuation with the anonymous New York Times op-ed by a disgruntled federal employee who hates President Trump. Here we go again. Trump is...

Russia has launched its biggest military exercise since the Cold War, involving about 300,000 service personnel, in eastern Siberia. China is sending 3,200 troops to take part in "Vostok-2018", with many Chinese armoured vehicles and aircraft. Mongolia is also sending some units. The last Russian exercise of similar scale was in 1981, during the Cold War, but Vostok-2018 involves more troops. As the exercises began, Russian President Vladimir Putin met his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at a forum in the eastern city of Vladivostok and told him "we have a trusting relationship in the sphere of politics, security and defence"....

CNN is reporting that top congressional Democrats are planning to take an unexpectedly soft line on new and potentially very damning information that has emerged about Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the Russia probe. Why? Because Democrats understand full well that Sessions, of all people, could end up being pivotal to preventing President Trump from covering up the findings of special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation. It’s a complicated and interesting situation — and it’s unclear where it’s going to end up. A few days ago, the news broke that in a recent court filing, former Trump campaign adviser...

The current economic boom has nothing to do with President Obama, White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett suggested Monday in the briefing room. In a speech last week at the University of Illinois, Obama claimed credit for the improved economic outlook. It was his policies, he noted that paved the way for the current rate."Don't forget when the recovery started," he told the audience."You don't have to reach far" for an explanation as to why the economy is looking up, Hassett said. Trump deregulated the economy, oversaw massive tax cuts, and cut corporate tax rates, all which have resulted in...
