Enforcement officials will first seek cooperation with local health officials and business owners, he said, which has been the state's approach with rules throughout the pandemic. But if they find violations, the teams will leverage their enforcement and regulatory authorities to enforce the public health orders, he said. Fred Jones, attorney for the Professional Beauty Federation of California, said it's appropriate to have the Board of Barbering & Cosmetology participate, as that agency has sole authority to regulate barber and beauty shops. But he warned of legal challenges if the teams enforce emergency orders that have not been approved by...

California Governor Gavin Newsom (Dem.) has been playing politics with the Wuhan virus. When he first ordered a short lockdown to “flatten the curve,” Californians played along despite the economic destruction because the virus was new, and the predictions were scary. They played along when the lockdown didn’t stop. They played along when Newsom locked the elderly up in nursing homes to die. They played along when Newsom boldly quashed constitutional rights. And then, suddenly, Newsom announced that mass riots were okay – and, by the way, if you’re not rioting, you’re still locked up. Having been lied to and...

San Francisco, CA (AHN) - San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom is hoping to impose a fee on one of the biggest culprits of streets and sanitation systems across the nation: the cigarette butt. Newsom's proposal, which is slated to be introduced next month to the San Francisco Boards of Supervisors, would add 33 cents to the cost of a pack of cigarettes in an effort to offset the $10.7 million the city spends removing discarded butts from the city streets, gutter, and drainpipes. Despite the likely protests from tobacco companies and smokers, Newsom maintains that the new law will help...

Californians are still free to attend their house of worship. But they’re forbidden from singing or chanting.Updated COVID-19 guidelines issued Wednesday by the state Department of Public Health require churches and other houses of worship to “discontinue singing and chanting activities.â€In previously allowing religious organizations to reopen in late May, the state merely said these institutions should “strongly consider discontinuing singing, group recitation, and other practices and performances.â€Â Health agencies such as the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say shouting or singing can spread the coronavirus just as easily as coughing or sneezing.California’s health department agrees, and as Gov. “Transmission is increasing in the state,†said California Governor Gavin Newsom said plainly at his Monday coronavirus press briefing. Accordingly, Newsom said he would likely be using the “dimmer switch†to toggle back reopening measures in more hard-hit counties. He said there were seven counties, including Los Angeles, that likely would need to “reinstitute community measures.â€Right now, that involves the closing of bars and nightclubs. Newsom indicated that he would leave it to county officials to determine the appropriate measures. But if counties are not effective in remediation, “I am committed to intervening,†said the governor. “We are considering a...

Hospitals are airlifting patients to facilities hundreds of miles away to handle an influx of Americans and U.S. green card holders sickened in Mexico. So, I'm headed to the office and take a detour to get my car washed and drive right in - - no line and no one in front of me. Unreal. At 9am there should be a several cars in line but, nope. It occurs to me that the little guys who use to wash my car or dry are probably out jobs for quite a while. Why? Well, with everyone being paid to work from home by their employers and other being paid to stay home by the American Taxpayer (who went to work today) It makes sense there...

If you know anyone who signed an online petition to recall Gavin Newsom, please let them know they've been duped. Valid petitions require signing a paper copy with specific content and formatting per state rules.I think the reason that two prior recall efforts to recall Gavin Newsom "didn't collect enough" signatures is fake petition websites like the one below, which has already absorbed about 350,000 signatures. That number is more than sufficient to get the recall vote on the ballot - but the petition is fake and will not result in recall. People unaware that Change.org petition is fake will...
