Fellow Freepers, I have posted before and will post again, the music coming over the Spanish-language stations in the United States is largely intolerable in its content. You need to get a fluently bilingual friend to listen to the Norteno-type "country" Mexican music and report what is heard. Just this afternoon, driving home from work, the music coming from a station in Austin, 107.1 FM, was so bad that I wanted to shut the station down immediately. If such music were produced in the English language with the same messaage towards the Spanish-speaking community as they sing out over our...

I stand by every word of it. And it’s even worse today. Of the thousands of Clinton presidential records released to the public last week, one among them has received of the bulk of attention: a 332-page memo from 1995. The memo, which offers an in-depth analysis of the right-wing media, describes how conservative conspiracy theories about the Clintons passed from the fringes to the mainstream. (...) Let’s go all the way back to the summer of 1995. At the time, my then colleague (and current business partner) Mark Fabiani and I were working at the White House as lawyers...

A humanitarian convoy led by maverick MP George Galloway carrying medical supplies for Gaza has come under attack in Egypt The convoy, carrying aid worth £1 million, was pelted with stones and vandalised after it stopped in El-Arish, a small town around 28 miles from the Rafah border crossing with Gaza. "It's an absolute disgrace,'' convoy organiser Yvonne Ridley told AFP. "The power was cut. Under cover of darkness members of our convoy were attacked with stones. "Vandals also wrote dirty words and anti-Hamas slogans,'' she said. "Several people in the convoy were injured in the attack." (snip) "George Galloway...

Local and national radio talk show host Ed Schultz spent 45 minutes of his local show this morning defending his actions in a weekend altercation at Hotel Shoreham along Lake Sallie near Detroit Lakes, Minn. Schultz said a man approached him inside the hotel bar and wanted to talk about their differing political views and the war in Iraq. Schultz, who was with his wife, Wendy, said the man and a woman with him would not end the conversation despite Schultz’s attempts to do so. He said everyone involved had been drinking.

In yesterday's EDITION of the DUmmie FUnnies, the KOmmies at The Daily Kos asserted the wishful thinking that AM talk radio is fading fast. Perhaps they were thinking ONLY of leftwing AM radio. Just a couple of years ago, the leftwing Air America Radio was hailed by the MSM as the "answer" to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk show hosts who dominate the AM airwaves. What ended up fading fast wasn't AM talk radio but the dream of competing with conservative talk radio. The left in general has pretty much given up on Air America as you can...

Liberal blogger Eric Brewer, who writes for the blog BTC News, wrote that a 'reporter' for Air America radio has been given a White House press pass.Brewer says he met the new 'reporter' while going through security to cover yesterday's White House briefing by Scott McClellan. The Air America reporter is identified as a lawyer from Aptos, California named Paul Sanford. A quick search shows that Mr. Sanford does have a law practice there, but according to his Website he does not have an education in journalism. However, he is a law professor which might explain his erudite debut question to...

It is time some Americans get off their blather and get real. Every day we here ad nauseam coming from the far left. Instead I am personally calling it for what it is, hate speech. Little regard is shown for America's safety when the far left uses inflammatory words to attack the president of the United States. This is not healthy political discourse that we are hearing. The radical ridiculous rhetoric has got to stop for the good of all America. Where is the American spirit to overcome the real problem called Islamic radical terrorism? It is now more than...

It seems to be a daily occurence... Savage, the ultimate looney nutcase, blasts President Bush from every angle, then broadsides Rush and Sean. He constantly calls Rush "Hush Bimbo", says he's nothing but a GOP mouthpiece, says that he's disgusted by Rush's constant self-promotions... NO ONE, not even Sean, does more shameless self-promotioning than this moron. He also said that Rush thinks his listeners are idiots, and talks to them in that way. What a loser, what an IDIOT.

NEW YORK -- Danny Goldberg, a longtime music industry executive, took over as chief executive of Air America Radio on Thursday in the latest sign that the liberal talk radio network is gaining its footing after a rocky start. Goldberg, whose New York-based record label Artemis represents artists including Steve Earle and the late Warren Zevon, took over from acting CEO Doug Kreeger, who stepped aside in December but remains an advisor and board member for the company.

Two leaders, one station, two brilliant minds—it’s Nation time! CHICAGO (FinalCall.com) - The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and Reverend Jesse Jackson, the two pre-eminent leaders among Black people in America, met publicly for a rare political summit Nov. 5, just three days after Election Day 2004, at WVON-AM radio, the “capital” of Black intellectual dissemination. The conversation, according to convener and talk show host Cliff Kelley, amounted to the African American “State of the Union.” “On this day, we are more than just a radio station. We are the voice of a nation of people—The Talking Drum,” Melody Spann-Cooper, president...

Does anyone have much information on this radio station other then Pacifica being the owner. I am especially looking for any wrong doings of the station and here is why...... My friend and I were having a heated discussion last night about the current situation in Iraq and the world events. He is a conspiracy guy and gets a lot of information from online conspiracy websites. He also get a lot of information from WBAI and he suggested that I take a listedn because they are not owned by big business and or the government and they have no hidden...

A few weeks ago, Amy Goodman played master of ceremonies at a peace rally in Washington. Later that day, she attended a different antiwar protest, involving many of the same people, this time doing interviews for the show she hosts on Pacifica Radio -- and wound up getting arrested outside the White House.

www.registerguard.com | © The Register-Guard, Eugene, Oregon December 18, 2002 KUGN to bounce hard-line talk show By TIM CHRISTIEThe Register-Guard KUGN, the "Voice of the Ducks," will drop bombastic talk show host Michael Savage starting today. The move follows a chorus of complaints from University of Oregon faculty and students who have argued for weeks that UO football and basketball broadcasts shouldn't share the air with "hate radio" commentators who defy the university's commitment to diversity and equality. Station officials insisted Tuesday that the campus clamor had no bearing on the decision to dump Savage. Michael Savage In place...

AN UNHOLY ALLIANCE of leftists, Democrats and Muslims have joined forces to muzzle talk radio. Their weapons are advertiser boycotts, smear campaigns, calls for repressive legislation… and Jew-baiting. Talk radio has always antagonized leftists. It allows grassroots Americans to speak out, and grassroots America despises the Left. For many years, the "Fairness Doctrine" silenced talk radio. It required stations to provide "equal time" for opposing views. If honestly observed, the rule would have required stations to fill every minute of available airtime with a parade of dissenters, from Save the Whale activists to Holocaust revisionists. Most stations found it easier...
