The UN’s top human rights official cited the “landmark” decision by India’s Supreme Court decriminalising consensual gay sex and urged more countries to bring their laws and practices in line with the fundamental equality of all their people. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, during the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender/Transsexual and Intersex (LGBTI) Core Group event — ‘Violence against LGBTI Individuals: Extra-judicial, summary or arbitrary executions’ — on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly here on Tuesday, said that change is happening around the world. On September 6, a five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court of...

Christine Blasey Ford's legal team has asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to agree to certain terms before she sits down for a potential interview over her accusation that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her, two sources told Fox News on Thursday night. Among the terms: Only members of the committee -- no lawyers -- can question her; Kavanaugh cannot be in the room at the time; and Kavanaugh must be questioned first.

The attorney for Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing Judge Brett Kavanaugh, sent a letter to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley Thursday afternoon saying her client is still willing to testify, but not by the Monday deadline and given a number of conditions. "I would like to set up a call with you later today to discuss the conditions under which Dr. Christine Blasey Ford would be prepared to testify next week. As you are aware, she has been receiving death threats, which have been reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and she and her family have been...

The heads of YouTube and Twitter are on Capitol Hill this week. Answering questions about the alleged censoring of conservative opinions. Whether you call in shadowbanning or just “a totally unbiased algorithm,” people are having a hard time finding the opinions of those they admire. And whose opinions they signed up to see. When “mistakes happen,” they only seem to happen in one direction. Which makes something Mike Rowe said stand out. Rowe can be problematic to the left because he talks about hard work and he doesn’t hate conservatives. Rowe’s posts are also not showing up in your Facebook...

RUSH: The trade business, let me see if I can get you right on something. As I have watched this, I’ve watched Trump being interviewed by journalists who don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s a fascinating thing. So many of these reporters now are under 30, like this babe that had the affair with the security director of the Senate Intelligence Committee. Anyway, they really don’t know anything. But they think they do. They think they’re experts on so much. And so a CNN reporter — we’ve got the audio coming up at some point. I haven’t had a...

Sen. John McCain's passing has left his Senate seat vacant and waiting to be filled by Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican. If she's interested in filling that seat, Meghan McCain would deserve immediate support from conservatives. To be clear, Meghan McCain might not want to be a U.S. senator. And that's fine, no one should ever face pressure to serve in public office unless in the situation of a national emergency. But if McCain is open to replacing her father until a special election can be held in 2020, she would make a great conservative successor to her irreplaceable...

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Wednesday said that the Senate Judiciary Committee should delay its confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh in the wake of former President Trump lawyer Michael Cohen's guilty plea. "It's a game changer. It should be. ... In my view, the Senate Judiciary Committee should immediately pause the consideration of the Kavanaugh nomination," Schumer said from the Senate floor. He added that he thought Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, had scheduled Kavanaugh's hearing "too soon" and he believed it should be delayed. Kavanaugh's hearing is scheduled to...

... For years, MS-13’s impact on the U.S. was local—confined to specific neighborhoods and cities scattered across the country as the gang used violence to secure and hold turf. Then, federal officials tracked an alarming development. As MS-13’s influence grew, so did its ambition to leverage its network of local franchises into a cohesive, national brand. That would vault MS-13 into territory once occupied by the Mafia, and now held by Mexican drug cartels. A series of trials that wrapped up this summer in Boston shows how MS-13 is pushing to make that leap by streamlining its management structure and...

Americans need to understand that the shocking refusal by a major political party to accept the results of the last election and the onslaught of verbal, legal, and physical assaults the Democrats have engendered, are not specific to Donald Trump. In other words, it is now clear plans were made by Obama to exploit federal power during his presidency to give the Democrats control of our nation — perpetually. It really didn’t matter if Trump was the GOP nominee or not. In other words, the chaos we are witnessing today would not have been much different had, for example, Ted...

Last week was a momentous one for the future of genetically engineered foods, both in the U.S. and in Europe. On July 24, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the Impossible Burger, an all-veggie burger that "bleeds" and sizzles just like meat. The burger's star ingredient — a protein called heme that renders blood red and helps make meat a carnivore's delight — was granted GRAS (generally recognized as safe) status. In 2015, the FDA had required that the $400 million Silicon Valley startup, Impossible Foods, demonstrate that their heme, made by genetically modified yeast, was safe. But across...

Russia has used a closely guarded communications channel with America's top general to propose the two former Cold War foes cooperate to rebuild Syria and repatriate refugees to the war-torn country, according to a U.S. government memo. The proposal was sent in a July 19 letter by Valery Gerasimov, the chief of the Russian military's General Staff, to U.S. Marine General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Russian plan, which has not been previously reported, has received an icy reception in Washington. The memo said the U.S. policy was only to support such efforts if there...

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Sunday said she hopes to remain on the high court for at least five more years, according to CNN. "My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years," 85-year-old Ginsburg said at an event in New York City. Speculation over the future of the Supreme Court has mounted in recent weeks following President Trump's nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, who would replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. Kavanaugh's confirmation would sway the balance of the co

This week, Puerto Rico’s representative in Congress, Resident Commissioner Jenniffer Gonzalez (R-PR), introduced a bill to make the territory a state no later than January 1, 2021. The Puerto Rico Admission Act of 2018 already has 37 co-sponsors, including Republicans and Democrats from various states. The bill comes after major events like Hurricanes Irma and Maria caused more than $90 billion worth in damages, making it the third costliest storm in U.S. history. The move towards statehood would bring an unprecedented amount of positive change to an island that is in desperate need of transformation. Under its current status as a...

Tens of thousands perhaps more are set to march and rally in the center of British government, Whitehall, in London at 10am this morning Eastern time, 3pm in London for the latest "Free Tommy Robinson" event. A leaflet promoting the event says that US Representative Paul Gosar of Arizona is one of the speakers. Robinson was arrested May 25th when he live streamed outside of a child sex abuse trial involving a case of industrial scale with Muslim defendants. He was jailed for 13 months for contempt of court and now is in solitary confinement in a prison with a...

Why not? She should be at the top of Pres. Trump's short list. She makes no bones about what she thinks. She's a woman and of mid-eastern decent (Lebanese), the d'RAT's should love that and would be a shoe-in for them. Let their name calling and insults begin. Bwhahahahaha.

Corey Stewart is the Republican candidate facing "Dim Bulb" Democrat, Senator Tim Kaine for the Senate seat in Virginia. I have no doubt that Stewart will run a terrific, pro-active, effective campaign against the failed, Hillary Clinton, VP choice..."the well known, asleep at the wheel, deadbeat, Democrat, Tim Kaine". Rumblings are heard that the Establishment GOP Senate campaign group will not fund the Stewart race. It's hard to believe....but Stewart can defeat Tim Kaine. It's amazing, because if Stewart takes down Kaine early in the evening of election day, the entire country (who will still be voting) will witness a...

From my limited research, it seems likely that Stapleton will win the Republican primary for the Governor's race, and that he'll almost certainly face Polis in November. And then Stapleton will likely lose. Polis has a 5 point edge on him in current polling, but I don't know that any of the other Republican candidates have any better chance. Incidentally, here's each candidate's position on my #1 issue, gun rights: Walker Stapleton Supports teachers voluntarily carrying concealed weapons. Supports repeal of "misguided" 2013 gun control measures limiting magazine size and requiring more background checks. Advocates increased security at schools and...

Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick – a Democrat serving a 28-year sentence for corruption – is seeking President Donald Trump’s help to get out of prison early, according to reports. Kilpatrick, writing on the Free Kwame Project website, says he has undergone a spiritual transformation since resigning from office in 2008 following a text-messaging sex scandal. “By God’s grace, I have received a pardon from Him, through Christ Jesus. I pray that I will receive the opportunity for Pardon/Clemency from the President of the United States as well,” he writes.

CAL 3, an initiative spearheaded by venture capitalist Tim Draper, has submitted 600,000 to the California secretary of state, far more than the 365,000 needed to secure a ballot spot, KABC reported Tuesday evening.

California’s 168-year run as a single entity, hugging the continent’s edge for hundreds of miles and sprawling east across mountains and desert, could come to an end next year — as a controversial plan to split the Golden State into three new jurisdictions qualified Tuesday for the Nov. 6 ballot. If a majority of voters who cast ballots agree, a long and contentious process would begin for three separate states to take the place of California, with one primarily centered around Los Angeles and the other two divvying up the counties to the north and south. Completion of the radical...
