Corporal Thompson could see the driver moving around in the seat, and could see there was a passenger with him as well. The driver of the vehicle eventually stopped on Steele Road. When Corporal Thompson exited his vehicle, the driver immediately opened his car door and began shooting at Corporal Thompson. Corporal Thompson returned fire and numerous rounds were exchanged before the suspect jumped back into his vehicle and took off, eastbound on Steele Road. He traveled a short distance, stopped and let a female passenger out of the vehicle, then took off again.

As a police officer and soldier I was relatively embarrassed when I thought of posting this question/thread, but I told myself to get over it and ask for help from people who know.Bottom Line Up Front: I want a 9mm "pistol" utilizing the AR platform. Commonly referred to as an AR-9. My question is, should I buy one or should I undertake the task of building one?Although I have significant experience with many types of firearms, I have no experience "building" a firearm by ordering parts from different companies and assembling them. I have done a significant amount of research...

Without saying a word, a mysterious man in black clutching a semi-automatic pistol opened fire on a California bar packed with college students celebrating "country night" Wednesday — claiming the lives of at least 12 patrons, including a veteran sheriff's sergeant nearing retirement, before officers found the gunman dead. Hundreds of people -- including students from California Lutheran University, private Christian school Pepperdine University and California State University Channel Islands -- were inside Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, Calif., for the country music event when shots suddenly rang out at about 11:20 p.m., Ventura County police said. Lots of Democrats are making it clear that they don’t trust the police. This past week, Andrew Gillum, Democrat gubernatorial nominee in Florida, claimed: “At the time that a law enforcement official has to go to a weapon, to a gun, to a baton, to a taser, then they have already have to go too far by their very presence.”

An incident between police and Coptic clerics that occurred outside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre has drawn accusations of police violence against the monks, after officers tried to break up the group of protesters who would not let Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) maintenance workers into the church... Police said they initially spoke with protesters and warned them that if they did not leave the area and allow the workers to enter, they would have to be evacuated. According to police, the protesters ignored these warnings, leading one who refused to move to be arrested... Anba Angaelos, the Coptic Orthodox...

This turned out to be a particularly oddly timed story to come across after the Synagogue shooting this morning. Someone should probably have a word with the parents and teachers in the Pittsburgh Public School system. At a recent meeting of the school board, a measure was brought up for a vote which sounds as if it should be a no-brainer except for the fact that it hadn’t been done long ago. Should the police who patrol on school campuses be armed? That was the question before the board. And they shot it down (pun intended) by a margin of...

Andrew Gillum, the Democratic nominee in Florida's gubernatorial race, said Wednesday that police are going "too far" if they have to pull out a gun, baton, or taser when approaching a potential suspect. Gillum made the comment on the liberal podcast "Pod Save America," where he pushed back against his Republican critics who believe he is an anti-police candidate. "All this stuff that they say, I've got to let them know, anti-police? No. I'm for police accountability, but law enforcement society cannot work and, quite frankly, law enforcement cannot do its job if it does not have a trusting relationship...

Far left Democrat Jennifer Wexton is running for US Congress against Republican Rep. Barbara Comstock. Comstock is tied with Wexton in the latest polls after trailing for several weeks. But now this… Democrat Wexton was caught using fake cops in her ad showing support for her candidacy. In fact one of the fake cops is her campaign field director. A new ad for Jennifer Wexton, a top Democratic challenger to Virginia GOP Rep. Barbara Comstock, briefly features three police officers signing a poster promising “Change is Coming.” But none of them are actual law enforcement. In fact, one of them...
