So there was a thread discussing an Ann Coulter article. It just disappeared. I would humbly suggest that FR should have some way of communicating to people why they decided to do this. Maybe an on going tread explaining these actions. Just a suggestion.

Western Springs and La Grange members of an anti-gun violence group are asking area businesses to post signs depicting No Guns Allowed. A new state law allows residents to carry concealed weapons, pending approval of permit applications through the Illinois State Police. She has children, ages 7 and 9, and has been handing out postcards to area businesses.

Clearly I can post and reply to threads, but looking for instruction on other functions. Specifically like posting pictures, quoting, font styles like underline, bold, strikeout, etc. Is there a FR help section or link I can click on? Thanks!!!

Is is possible to import a PDF file to the "Body of Thread" text box when posting an article? How would it be done? Is the a html string to use(?), like when posting a photograph from a photo storage site, or something? I have many PDF files of articles which I have written or edited, and am wondering if they can be posted without converting them to something else. Thanks so much

I would like to enlist the knowledge of my fellow freepers. My local rag the Journal News who doesn’t even allow excerpts to be posted has just changed their comments section to only allow Facebook postings. They give some lame excuse about some people are upset at the postings and it is not fair it is anonymous. Since you have to sign up with a valid e-mail address they are not really anonymous. Besides the attempt to stifle dissent through intimidation why would they do this? Is there something I am missing? Note this paper published the names and addresses...

I'm having trouble finding any FR posting guidelines showing which sites may be excerpted, which are link-only and so on. I would have thought adding a link to that information on the page that appears when you hit "Post" would be a no-brainer, but I sure don't see anything like that. I've seen people referencing such guidelines quite a bit, but I've never found 'em.

Why do so few people bother to cleanly post a story anymore here on Free Republic? Not to pick on anyone in particular but I see this type of posting all the time and it drives me crazy. The last couple of days, when posting my comments, I am not taken back to the thread I am posting to ... I get "No Connection Can Be Made" or something like that ... The, I have to either go to Latest Aricles, or Pings and then get back to the thread ... Anyone having the same problem ??? BTW, I have latest MS Updates, have cleared out my cache, and cleaned my registry ...

I can not see many of the thread postings, particularly anything after the first page, though there are problems there too...

It appears that I post something --I make sure to INCLUDE its source...it is NOT offensive or obscene--and you immediately remove iit....( in this case a portion of a thread i found illuminating from Hillaryclintonforum.net) this happens constantly....and is very frustrating....the "free" in free republic does not appear to hold---perhaps a clarification of your increasingly rigid rules would help? The parameters are so narrow some good content is being unilaterally struck....PLEASE EXPLAIN so that i can contribute in a way that allows my points to be seen. Thank you.
