LONDON — What's in a name? Everything, when you're a royal baby. The arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s third child on Monday has left the world wondering what the new prince will be called. If recent history is anything to go by, Kensington Palace may opt to release the new baby’s name on Wednesday. Prince William and the former Kate Middleton made such announcements two days after the births of his siblings, George and Charlotte.

The birth of Prince George creates a problem for liberals. They love the idea of royalty because it validates their vision of an anointed elite with a divine right to the obedience of their subjects. However, this wonderful couple has created a traditional nuclear family that provides a powerful counterpoint to the kind of freak show dysfunction that liberalism requires to survive. If families actually stayed together and raised their children, well, who would need the liberal elite? Sure, the royal couple gets paid out of the British treasury, but it isn’t as if Prince William sits around being fanned...

Even Drudge ran the birth of the Prince of Cambridge at the top of his page, treating it like it was the biggest event out of Europe since D-Day. It’s a boy. Prince William and Kate Middleton became parents of an 8 lb. 6 ounce baby boy late Monday afternoon. Both mother and child were reported doing well and will remain in the hospital overnight. Prince William was present for the birth at 4:24 p.m., according to a press release from the royal household. The release also said the name of the baby, the couple’s first, would be announced “in due course.” The baby will be third in line to the throne after his grandfather, Prince Charles, and his father.
