I honestly couldn’t imagine having a baby with all the freaks waiting outside to ‘report’ it. It’s the most magical thing in this whole world, I wish her and the baby the best.

Its going to be interesting if its a girl...
That’s why I’m kind of hoping it’s a boy. If it’s a girl, everyone will be gushing about how she’ll be first in line after her father, even if she has brothers, what a victory this is for the women’s movement, blah, blah, blah.
The victory was when the succession laws were altered. Personally I’m glad they were. There is no practical reason for preferring males over females any more, and can you imagine what the screams would be if the laws hadnt been changed and the child is a girl?
Just out of curiosity, I decided to go over to Twitter. Good God A-mighty! It’s a freakin’ zoo! A lot of the major news organizations have tweeted about it.
Maybe not here in America, but in England, this is going to BURY every other news story for the next several days. Parliament could pass a law giving muzzies control of the country and nobody would know about it.
It would have gone on just as before. She would be in line after her father and uncle, until a brother came along. Liberals would complain, but half of them want to abolish the monarchy altogether. If they’re going to have a monarchy, they should do it right, which means following primogeniture.
We monarchists can be a bit insane about such things, I’m afraid.

Personally, speaking as somebody who is committed to the Monarchy, I think it was time for this change - at a when it did not alter a status quo already in place. If the chance had been missed, it could be decades before another simple opportunity came up, because of the requirements under the Statute of Westminster. It prevents one argument being used throughout the Commonwealth Realms against the monarchy - and means any move towards republicanism is more likely to be based on real issues of governance that matter, rather than mere symbolism.
