McCabe has indicated that, if charged, he would claim the Justice Department was under pressure from the White House. Federal prosecutors in Washington have recommended that criminal charges be filed against Andrew McCabe, the FBI’s former deputy director, and the Justice Department has rejected a last-ditch appeal by McCabe’s lawyers, according to a report on Thursday by Fox News. This clears the way for what appears to be McCabe’s imminent indictment.

This week on Fox News, host Neil Cavuto blasted President Donald Trump‘s criticism of the network in a monologue dubbed “Common Sense” that he delivered on Thursday. Cavuto claims that the president makes clear that “to fact check him is to be all but dead to him” and that “my job is to cover you, not fawn over you.” The host of the right-leaning network seemed to have had enough of Trump’s backsliding every time the network reports on something negative. “First of all, Mr. President, we don’t work for you.” he declared. “I don’t work for you.”

LONDON — The governing Conservative party lost its majority today as one of its MPs defected to join the anti-Brexit Liberal Democrats. Phillip Lee sat on the opposition benches on Tuesday as Prime Minister Boris Johnson stood to deliver a statement in the House of Commons. The move increases pressure on Johnson, whose majority was already looking shaky, but does not automatically trigger an election because that would require a separate vote.

“Seinfeld” actor John O’Hurley sounded off on Hollywood for suppressing “diversity of thought” in the wake of Debra Messing and Eric McCormack calling for supporters of President Trump to be outed. Trump plans to attend a Sept. 17 fundraiser in Beverly Hills during a trip to California that will also include visits to the San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego, officials said. The “Will & Grace” co-stars took issue with a Trump fundraiser happening in their city and called for donors to be doxxed. “I think they have the bully pulpit right now to say it out loud. I don’t...

But it was on the campus.” The former vice president's clarification came before he mistakenly praised Vermont when asked about his impression of Keene, N.H., which is in close proximity to Vermont, on Saturday. That didn't take long. A former Obama adviser set the stage for a potentially nasty confirmation fight in the Senate next year within an hour of the Supreme Court announcing Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg recently completed three weeks of radiation treatment after doctors found a localized cancerous tumor on her pancreas. * * * Ginsburg, who is 86, has battled various illnesses over the last 20 years. The Supreme Court said in a statement Friday that she “tolerated the treatment well" and concluded that there is no evidence of disease elsewhere in her body.

Doc: Dem frontrunner definitely doesn't have brain damage Something is happening behind the scenes within the Democratic Party. Former Vice President Joe Biden remains the prohibitive favorite to win the nomination, even as he continues to commit word gaffes with his mouth. Many still consider Biden to be the most "electable" candidate, but some Democrats, including some of his own aides and supporters, are beginning to express doubts about the 76-year-old's intellectual capacity. It would appear that the Democratic establishment, in its desperation to prevent Bernie Sanders from winning the nomination, is keen to develop a contingency plan in case...

Medical Examiner Rules Jeffrey Epstein Death Was Suicide by Hanging © Jane Rosenberg 23:21 16.08.2019(updated 23:41 16.08.2019) The New York Medical Examiner's Office released its official autopsy report on financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein on Friday, finding that he died from suicide by hanging. On Thursday, the Washington Post reported, citing unnamed sources, that Epstein's autopsy had found "multiple breaks in his neck bones," noting that while that kind of damage can be obtained by self-hanging, "they are more common in victims of homicide by strangulation." However, Friday's official report concluded the bones were broken by Epstein kneeling...

Dean Baquet, the executive editor of the New York Times, said recently that, after the Mueller report, the paper has to shift the focus of its coverage from the Trump-Russia affair to the president's alleged racism. "We built our newsroom to cover one story, and we did it truly well," Baquet said. "Now we have to regroup, and shift resources and emphasis to take on a different story." Baquet made the remarks at an employee town hall Monday. A recording was leaked to Slate, which published a transcript Thursday. The day Bob Mueller walked off that witness stand, two things...

The death of financier and alleged sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein in a high-security federal jail cell in Manhattan has lit up social media with conspiracy theories. Was it murder? Suicide? The wealthy Epstein for decades cultivated the rich and powerful: heads of state, barons of commerce, royalty. He skated on earlier Florida sex charges, a controversy that eventually brought down Labor Secretary Alex Acosta. According to conspiracy theories cresting on the internet, Epstein’s recent federal indictment on sex trafficking charges threatened too many prominent people—so somebody, somehow, bumped him off.

One of the two people guarding Jeffrey Epstein when he apparently hanged himself in a federal jail cell was not a full-fledged correctional officer, and neither guard had checked on Mr. Epstein for several hours before he was discovered, prison and law-enforcement officials said. Those details emerged on Monday as Attorney General William P. Barr sharply criticized the management of the federal jail in Manhattan where Mr. Epstein, who was accused of sexually abusing dozens of teenage girls, was found dead on Saturday morning. “We are now learning of serious irregularities at this facility that are deeply concerning and demand...
