Harvard's embattled president is facing yet further questions about her academic record, after a statistics expert challenged the data used in a report which helped win her tenure at Stanford. Claudine Gay, who took over as president in July, has been at the center of a firestorm since the October 7 Hamas attacks. She was seemingly slow to condemn students who justified the terrorist violence, and slow to speak out against antisemitism on campus. The harsh spotlight has spread to her academic record, with accusations of plagiarism - and on Tuesday, a data scientist challenged her analytical methods. It was...

Biden’s banking watchdog pick Saule Omarova must turn over her thesis on Karl Marx SOURCE — FOX BUSINESS Senator Pat Toomey wants to read Cornell University professor Saula Omarova’s thesis on Karl Marx, since Omarova became President Biden’s pick to lead the office of Comptroller of the Currency. But the document has been scrubbed from her resume. Now, after weeks after Omarova was first nominated to the post, Toomey, R-Pa., is again asking for the thesis written during her time at Moscow State University in the 1980s. Toomey, the ranking member on the Senate Banking Committee, sent a letter to...

One of the very earliest scientific papers from the COVID-19 pandemic era now has over 11,000 citations. Appearing in the scientific journal Nature on February 3rd 2020, Zhou et al., 2020 reported the genome sequence of a novel coronavirus isolated from patients with atypical pneumonia in Wuhan, China. Its senior author was leading coronavirus researcher Zheng-li Shi of the Wuhan Institute of Virology (the WIV). Along with what we now call SARS-CoV-2, her paper also reported the genome sequence of a closely related (96.2% identical) bat virus. The authors called this virus RaTG13. To this day RaTG13 is still the...

For German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, life was a process of constant change. The father of the "zeitgeist" was born 250 years ago. Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, the German philosopher who would go on to be one of the most famous thinkers of his era, was born on August 27, 1770, in Stuttgart, in southwest Germany. His parents practiced Pietism, a Lutheran reform movement that emphasized personal religious experience. Hegel, who showed an affinity for math and Latin, was at the top of his class in school. His parents hoped he would become a priest and sent him to...

In 1985, Michelle Obama presented her senior thesis in the sociology department of Princeton University. Although Michelle drew no such conclusion, the thesis is a stunning indictment of affirmative action. Those who benefited from it, Michelle most notably, may never recover from its sting. Her thesis reads like a cry for help. "I have found that at Princeton no matter how matter how liberal and open-minded some of my white professors and classmates try to be toward me," she writes, "I sometimes feel like a visitor on campus; as I really don't belong." She didn't. Michelle should never have been...

Dinesh D'Souza described Michelle Obama's college thesis as "illiterate and incoherent." The far-right author and filmmaker launched a scathing attack on the former first lady after she claimed that people at the most powerful organizations in the world were "not as smart" as some portrayed them to be. "Anyone who has read Michelle's college thesis - a document so illiterate and incoherent that it was written, as Christopher Hitchens put it, in 'no known language' - will chuckle heartily at this one," D'Souza wrote on his Facebook page, sharing a link to a Newsweek article that reported Obama’s remark. Monica Crowley, President-elect Trump's pick for senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council, appears to have plagiarized numerous sections of her Ph.D. thesis, according to investigations by CNN and Politico. Politico, in a report published Monday, identified more than a dozen instances of plagiarism in Crowley's Columbia University thesis, "Clearer Than Truth: The Evolution of American Policy Toward the People’s Republic of China Under Truman and Nixon."On Thursday, CNN's KFile followed up on Politico's report, revealing 40 additional instances of plagiarism in Crowley's thesis, which was submitted in 2000. Her dissertation apparently lifted from scholarly works, the...

In 1993, the president of Wellesley College approved a new rule upon being contacted by Bill Clinton’s White House. The rule stated that all senior theses written by a president or first lady of the United States would be kept under lock and key. The rule was meant to keep the public ignorant about the radical ties of the first lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton, to the radical Marxist organizer, Saul Alinsky. The 92-page thesis was titled, “There is only the fight…: An Analysis of the Alinsky Model.”

The Delphi Technique and consensus building are both founded in the same principle - the Hegelian dialectic of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis, with synthesis becoming the new thesis. In group settings, the Delphi Technique is an unethical method of achieving consensus on controversial topics. It requires well-trained professionals, known as "facilitators" or "change agents," who deliberately escalate tension among group members, pitting one faction against another to make a preordained viewpoint appear "sensible," while making opposing views appear ridiculous. The facilitators or change agents encourage each person in a group to express concerns about the programs, projects, or policies in...

Reports Patrick Howley at the Daily Caller: State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf wrote her college honors thesis on “how conservative evangelical support for Israel complicates U.S. foreign policy,” according to Indiana University records. This doesn’t appear to be a stretch of the source material by any means. Howley precisely quotes the article “College ‘Luminary’ Marie Harf followed father to IU, political science” which was published on November 10 last year on an Indiana University website: She credits her IU professors — and especially her undergraduate honors advisors, political science professors Mike McGinnis and Marjorie Hershey, and English and Jewish studies...

Harvard students, outraged over a doctoral dissertation arguing that Hispanic immigrants lack “raw cognitive ability or intelligence,” this week urged the university to investigate how the thesis came to be approved and to ban future research on racial superiority. The students presented 1,200 signatures to president Drew Faust and the dean of the John F. Kennedy School of Government, David Ellwood. “Academic freedom and a reasoned debate are essential to our academic community,” the petition said. “However, the Harvard Kennedy School cannot ethically stand behind academic work advocating a national policy of exclusion and advancing an agenda of discrimination.” …

In his 1978 Harvard University honors thesis, current treasury secretary nominee and White House chief of staff Jacob “Jack” Lew wrote that Social Security payments should be a guaranteed right, regardless of whether the program’s “trust fund” contains enough money to distribute to beneficiaries. And progressive income taxes, he argued — not payroll taxes — should be used to fund the program to the point where America would guarantee benefit payments beyond what taxpayers have paid into the system. “Old age and Medicare benefits are guaranteed as a matter of right,” he noted, “even though many recipients draw more benefits...

I came upon a very interesting discovery: Michelle Obama's college thesis from 1985! I couldn't wait to read it...and to evaluate it! Why? Knowing what I know about her now, I am very curious to find out what her intellectual ability and her belief system may have been like during those influential, formative years!

Today, the White House defended its decision to host rapper Common despite more opposition from the New Jersey State Police. The show will go on. But some Americans (including myself) have asked what was Michelle Obama thinking inviting a woman-bashing, cop-hating, Bush-burning, Black Panther sympathizing rapper to a poetry reading at the White House? It's a fair question since we are paying her husband's salary and housing the family until at least 2012. Michelle has left us a written record of her feelings, thoughts and philosophy from her early days as a student at Princeton. Perhaps revisiting the First Lady's...

Criticizing Islam may get you a court summons in Canada. But calling the Jews “privileged racists” who intentionally exploit the memory of the Holocaust to generate political power may just get you a graduate degree. The University of Toronto has come under heavy criticism for accepting a master’s thesis from an anti-Israel activist that accuses the Jewish community of deliberately using Holocaust-remembrance programs to create a false impression of Jewish victimhood, in order to make it easier for Jews to push “racist” and “apartheid” policies in Israel: The thesis, titled “The Victimhood of the Powerful: White Jews, Zionism and the...

On May 14, 2010, Princeton University Archivist and Curator of Public Policy Papers, Daniel J. Linke, sent an email to RedState, a right-of-center blog, requesting that RedState remove a copy of Elena Kagan's undergraduate thesis from their web site. Kagan, who was recently nominated by President Obama to fill a vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court, wrote her thesis, "To the Final Conflict: Socialism in New York City, 1900-1933," in 1981, when she was a senior in the History Department at Princeton. Linke's email explained that "[c]opies [of the thesis] provided by the Princeton University Archives are governed by U.S....

Kagan's Thesis Has Supreme Court Nominee Praising Activist Judges Washington, DC -- When President Barack Obama nominated Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court, he likely spent enough time with her to know she appreciates activist judges who make law from the bench rather than interpret it. Without the benefit of knowing her intimately, pro-life groups are left to research her background. http://LifeNews.com/nat6429.html

Obviously, there's been lots of talk about Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan in numerous areas. There have been various reports concerning Kagan's supposed views on copyright, but those seem pretty blown out of proportion from what I've seen and in talking to folks who know Kagan. She was a big supporter of the Berkman Center at Harvard, but that was part of her job. Other than her recommendation in the Cablevision case, there doesn't seem to be much to go on. In fact, I'm considerably more concerned with the idea that one of the leading contenders for Kagan's current job...

Think she’s not a radical Socialist? Read on. The following are quotes from the Senior Thesis of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, written and submitted to the History Department of Princeton University in 1981. The following quotes are used for educational purposes and for use by the readers as such. Any other use may constitute copyright infringement…and we all know socialists wouldn’t approve of that, even if it is a capitalist concept. From page 127:
