Harvard's embattled president is facing yet further questions about her academic record, after a statistics expert challenged the data used in a report which helped win her tenure at Stanford.
Claudine Gay, who took over as president in July, has been at the center of a firestorm since the October 7 Hamas attacks. She was seemingly slow to condemn students who justified the terrorist violence, and slow to speak out against antisemitism on campus.
The harsh spotlight has spread to her academic record, with accusations of plagiarism - and on Tuesday, a data scientist challenged her analytical methods. It was then revealed that she had refused to share her data, raising eyebrows in academia.
Jonatan Pallesen, a Copenhagen-based data scientist working for the Confederation of Danish Industry, tweeted that he had examined her use of data in her PhD thesis, and a 2001 American Political Science Review (APSR) paper.
The 2001 paper - 'The Effect of Black Congressional Representation on Political Participation' - was one of four peer-reviewed political science articles which secured her 2005 tenure at Stanford.
Gay had received an undergraduate degree in economics from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in government from Harvard, before returning to Stanford to teach.
In 2006, she joined Harvard's faculty, serving as a professor of government and of African and African American studies. She became dean of Harvard's Faculty of Arts and Sciences in 2018.
Pallesen found that the 2001 paper was misleading, and incomplete.
'I am not a political scientist, but I am pondering about the whole approach of her study,' he said.
Christopher Brunet, a contributing editor at The American Conservative, then followed up on Pallesen's concerns in The Dossier, and found that Gay had refused to share the data which informed her conclusions.

Using the term logical with anything involving leftists is almost amusing. The only logic that can be applied to leftism involves obtaining and maintaining power. How many tyrannical regimes use the terms democratic socialist, the people’s republic, only to terrorize their slaves. The almighty government will give each a little, while destroying the engine that freedom and capital bring. The Party of Hate really despises people like President Trump, Elon Musk, etc. They made their money the old fashioned way, they earned it. They have so much they can fight back against the madness. Almost anyone else would collapse under the leviathan’s pressure.
No one on the left is bothered with Gay and Harvard. They are bothered that they got caught. Attack anyone and everyone who tells the truth.
One of the good things recently are the Ivy League alumni who are no longer donating to these institutions of indoctrination.
She better have her Waffle House job application filled out.
Exploring or pondering whatever Gay may have in terms of professional or intellectual deficits was apparently never part of the public or institutional conversation.
Did she simply receive the Kamala once-over, the Katanji Brown-Jackson once over, and then...BAM! You’re hired.
She’s a fraud, as is Harvard after it went big into diversity picks. Obama is an example. A lazy student, a homosexual doper with no record of accomplishment. Yet… admitted.
Harvard has become a joke educationally. Your average Land grant school in Texas has much tighter and tougher academics.
For example, you can actually fail classes! Same for Colorado school of mines, New Mexico tech, and several others. The average Harvard student would choke and fail.
Once they target someone, endless news stories come out exposing scandal after scandal, allegation after allegation, embarrassment after embarrassment, until you are destroyed.
Usually the target is someone on the right. But now they've targeted her. The process is the same.
She's a sleazy, low intellect, diversity hire. But they always knew that, and it was never a problem until now.
Just another affirmative tenured fake scholar. Some degrees have always been relatively worthless, but to start out with intent to devalue “academic study” even further by dry-labbing the “research” and plagiarizing the findings of others without attribution only furthers the stereotype of the “lazy scholar”.

I would suggest all those years in high school and college where she got a ‘free-ride’...reached a level where she finally had to produce a real study, and she couldn’t do it. As for the college now admitting her limits or their mistake? No...to fire her means a lawsuit and tens of millions to be paid for firing. She has a 30-year job in her hands and will never leave.
This is a prime example of why DEI is a tremendously bad idea. You get morons in positions they have no business being in and look at the result in this case - Harvard sanctioned Nazism

But what is being measured in the study are correlations between the two.
Having a Black representative is not a random event. It possibly happens more often in inner city districts, for example. And maybe inner cities have lower vote participation. This would result in a correlation without any causation. There are countless such possible factors.
It would make more sense to me to compare elections turnouts in the same district, in two different election years, where one is with a Black representative, and the other is without. Then you are holding most things constant except the variable of interest.”
Flawed outcome-based statistical analysis used to support a racially charged conclusion that a black candidate in one district drives down white voter turnout (in another district) should surprise no one familiar with so-called Leftist logic. The professor was merely echoing in his own words Mark Twain’s observation that there are lies, damn lies, and statistics.
Disagree. This is an example of when the deep state, oligarchs, media fail in protecting someone. Then they join the bandwagon trying to reclaim some credibility.

Florida State University criminology professor Eric Stewart was a guru of the claim that “systemic racism” infests America’s police and American society. Now he’s out of a job on account of “extreme negligence” in his research.
The academic was fired after almost 20 years of his data — including figures used in an explosive study, which claimed the legacy of lynchings made whites perceive blacks as criminals, and that the problem was worse among conservatives — were found to be in question.
College authorities said he was being fired for “incompetence” and “false results.” Among the studies he has had to retract were claims that whites wanted longer sentences for blacks and Latinos.
To date, six of Stewart’s articles published in major academic journals like Criminology and Law and Society Review between 2003 and 2019 have been fully retracted after allegations the professor’s data was fake or so badly flawed it should not have been published.
The professor’s termination came four years after his former graduate student Justin Pickett blew the whistle on his research.

Gay is not logical?
Claudine Gay is single-handedly taking down higher education and those in charge are bound and gagged and cannot act to save the complete destruction of their institutions.
They are all so invested in this massive fraud, they cannot admit what they have done to destroy these universities.
It is looking more and more as if American higher education cannot be saved from its suicidal overdose of fraud.
It is amazing to see how these scoundrels are now hostages to their own conspiracy of wickedness and deceit.
They can get rid of her anytime they want. If Harvard continues to lose mega donations they will can her. Even if they have to pay her 10s of millions to go away, that is cheap.
