Michael Tenenbaum says most people he meets while campaigning in local communities don't know who their congressman is. "It's not your fault you don't know," Tenenbaum tells them. (CBS) LOS ANGELES A brush fire broke out around 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday along the Ronald Reagan Freeway, near the Ventura County line. As of 4:30a.m., the fire had consumed about one acre of vegetation without damaging any structures or causing any injuries.

United Way of Ventura County on Thursday revised its two-year-old policy on discrimination, allowing it to give money to such groups as the Boy Scouts of America. United Way had adopted a tough anti-discrimination stance in 2001, effectively cutting off contributions to the Ventura County Council, Boy Scouts of America. The Scouts will not accept homosexuals in leadership positions. The City of Camarillo is holding a big city-sponsored Support the Troops Rally on Friday, April 25 at 7:00 pm at Constitution Park. They are providing a special area for military personnel and their family to congregate. They ask that people bring a picture of their deployed loved one for display during the rally. They are hoping to have a huge turnout. They really love and support our military families.

Ventura County loves its troops! There was a very successful rally held at the Port Hueneme Naval Base today at the corner of Channel Islands and Ventura. This rally was organized by friends and families of our brave troops and was truly a grassroots effort. Over 100 people attended - include some of our freepers!
