I just saw on FOX that yesterday airport screeners did their stupid workout on Al Gore. He is certainly a danger to the country, but hardly as a terrorist.

The baggage screeners are not at all interested in stopping terrorists. If they stop a terrorist, he might blow them up. They are just using their expanded power to take out their low rent envy on their betters.

Making them Federal Employees was a didaster, and so is random checking. The vast majority of people favor profiling and issueing 'trusted traveler' passes to people who have passed a strict background check.

When is Bush gonna dump Minetta and do something? Never, because the Deputy to Minetta for security is a friend of his, the former ATF supervisor who was personally responsible for Ruby Ridge. Apointing those two is the most shameful act of Bush's entire life.

Fox just ran a segment of that interview. This was a beautiful little 3 year old girl. It's just painfully difficult to hear such things coming from one so small. And this was Saudi Arabian television, not Al Jazeera.

This is what I would consider real hate speech and it's pretty scary. But you know, I still do not question their right to do it. I think it is better to know what what we're up against.

The Baby Face of Hate

This is indeed hate speech. I agree that hate speech is protected and they have a right to say anything they want. I also think that any Muslim not willing to condemn this as dispicable and contrary to the Koran is not fit to continue to live in the modern world and should not be allowed to do so.

I also feel that what that lunatic preacher said yesterday was protected and he had a right to say it. I also think any Christian not willing to condemn it as dispicable and un Christian is not fit to continue to live in the modern world, and should not be allowed to do so.

Ratty, I didn't have an opportunity to respond yesterday to your excellant post #1163 on the last thread.

You are so right. The dems can't or won't grasp some things about our "W".
The President knows who he is and is comfortable, confident in his skin. He is humble yet strong.
Like all truly successful people the President is a planner. He assembles good people, tells them what he expects then gets out of their way and lets them do their job. On every issue he is two, three or four moves ahead of the dems.
For W, the Oval Office is not the ultimate power grab nor a platform for personal gain or gotcha politics. Our President has many admirable qualities but it is his enormous respect for the office, the country and for all of us that is the critical essence of the man and it is the trait the dems can not fathom.

Yesterday while the dems were engaged in stalling, plotting and whining .....
The President met with the Saudi foreign minister to discuss the Middle East.
He met with the Australian Prime Minister to discuss trade and terrorism.
He met with a group of CEOs from the business community to discuss volunteerism, encouraging them to not just create value but to strive to create values.
He spoke to a high tech forum about the importance technology plays to our safety and in the war on terror.
As he hailed the end of the antiquated ABM treaty our Navy successfully slammed an inceptor rocket into a dummy warhead in a preliminary test of the proposed missile defense program.
The President reminded us again of the danger Iraq poses to the world and of our options there. We later learned the U.S. has quietly doubled our troop presence in Kuwait.

At every turn in his day, without exception, he never failed to address his number one job, protecting our country and the lives of it's citizens. He never waivered, he did not falter, he pulled no punches. He used every one of the above engagements to speak of the evils of terrorist and the rogue states that support them. It was another of the jam packed, whirlwind, productive days the President relishes. Lastly, it was also a day when he promoted conservative values. His remarks to technology leaders thrilled my conservative, pubbie heart:

" The other thing that I want you all to understand is I think I've got a pretty clear vision of the role of government. And it's not to create wealth; that's not the role of the government. The role of government is to create an environment in which people who've got a good idea and are willing to work for it can make a living, and expand their businesses and employ people."

Yes, I agree with you, the administraton has probably already devised a forward looking plan that would allow "the power companies will announce long-term upgrade plans,"-snip- "reducing emissions by the 70% that "W" predicted today. The whole sector will get a bump in the market, and then we can go out and say: "See, if you take the shackles off of industry, they will try to do the right thing."

Wise advice to dems, dictators, terrorist and allies alike would be, Do Not Play Poker With W.

Swerve, I gotta disagree with you about the remarks the preacher made. Not only does he have a right to say what he did, but a responsibility as well. There is no question historically that Mohammed was a murderer, a thief and a pedophile. And as far as what belongs in the spiritual domain, which is where a CLOSED convention of only Southern Baptist leaders rightfully belongs, anything at all that is in keeping with the Scriptures is entirely appropriate and a case can be made scripturally that he may well have been demon possessed, so what we have here has nothing to do with so-called hate speech. That is simply the liberal buzz word used to rally their ranks against anything they don't like, which in this case seems to be truth and Biblical teaching.

By their reasoning, it should be perfectly okay for a Christian to infiltrate a gathering of Muslim leaders and then go out and condemn what they teach as a part of their religion, which seems to be the embodiment of hate. While we might rightfully condemn their teaching, it is not our place to try and change it to force them to go against what they believe to be "holy." They might not like it that many Christians believe that Mohammed was a demon-possessed pedophile, but their liking or not liking it doesn't change the facts. If their faith is so great in their "prophet" why are they so threatened?

And before you go saying that this kind of comment incites violence against a certain group of people, I don't think that is a valid argument, unless of course you think their is a conspiracy afoot among Southern Baptist leaders to overthrow Islam in America by force. And keep in mind, they SHOULD have been the only people hearing it. Granted, there have been acts of violence and vandalism against SOME Muslims and mosques, as well as against some who are of mideastern descent, regardless of religion, but I do not believe for a second that any teaching of any church was behind it, but rather some real Americans from various walks of life who are striking out in anger at the closest thing to the enemy that they perceive in their own lives. Are they justified in doing so? Of course not, but the evil that has been building and that we saw culminate in the horrific assault on our country and our people on 9/11, most of them innocent civilians, has had an incredible impact on the psyches of most Americans and because of it we know that we will never be quite the same again. It is a condition of war and of trauma, but certainly not an act of the church.

Mohamed was just following in the footsteps of Abraham as a religious pervert and criminal.

Abraham wandered around the middle East introducing his wife to various kings as his sister. Then after they had slept with her he said "whoa bucko you are messin' with my wife" That is called 'The Badger Game' and it is a felony in every state in the union and most other nations. If he wasn't running a badger game, then he was pimping her.

Either way he was a criminal and a sexual pervert. Why don't we just throw out everything that has come from the start he made, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, all the people of the book. We don't, because good can come out of evil.

That begs the question however. There is no proof you can site that Mohammed was 'Demon Possessed'. You may think he is, but unless you have proof, and interpreting a book written hundreds of years before his birth is not proof, that is a slander, and thus a very unchristian thing to do or to condone.

Christian preachers today condemn the behavior of Abraham and Sarah. No one recommends that husbands and wives follow the example of their fear and unfaithfulness. No one insists that what they did was righteous. No one is beheaded for questioning Abraham's judgement.
King David was chastised and punished by prophets and God for his dispicable behavior regarding Bathsheba and her husband. No preacher today says he was right. Christians and Jews are not obligated to defend his lust and treachery to prove their own religious fervor.
The people recorded in the Holy Bible are all fallible and justly criticized for one reason or another as we learn what to do and what not to do in the lessons handed down through them. There is only One man in the Bible revered as the perfect Lamb, and He did not act in faithlessness.

Whoa Swervie! I don't know what version of the Bible you are reading, but Abraham's wife Sarah never "knew" another man. Abraham was guilty of being a coward, hiding behind his wife's skirt, and yeah, he was wrong for putting her in that position, but in every case God saved Sarah from defilement. And she WAS his half-sister.

The discussion that Alan had on his show last night had to do with the words of Jesus, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Me." AND in discussing the performance of "miracles" as in the case of Jesus, or supernatural acts in the case of Mohammed, Jesus said when He was accused of casting out demons by the power of Satan that it could not be done because "a house divided against itself cannot stand."

"If I by Beelzebul cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast {them} out? For this reason they will be your judges. "But I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. "Or how can anyone enter the strong man's house and carry off his property, unless he first binds the strong {man?} And then he will plunder his house. "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters." (Matthew 12:27-30)

There is much in the scriptures about the spirits of the prophets being subject to the prophets and testing the spirits whether they be from God, but the point is, every spirit that is of God declares that Jesus is the Christ. To proclaim otherwise makes Jesus a liar.

"do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the {spirit} of the antichrist,(1 John 4:1-3)

Good job. That may be the first post you have posted about Christianity, that I have completely agreed with.

There is hope for you, yet. (Much to 'Their' chagrin)

I posted a silly little comment on another thread last night and it was removed. I can't believe anyone could be offended, let alone indulged in their hysterical offense:

BREAKING: SW Airlines Flight 1966 from Chicago to Seattle "diverted" to South Dakota

Why on earth were these inoffensive, light-hearted comments removed from the thread?

whether Congress has made war official is of little concern.

Sadly, it is still of LEGAL concern. Those bitches, and sons of bitches, can't be accused of treason in the absence of a formal Congressional Declaration of War.

It makes a HUGE legal difference, and Congress KNOWS it...

What is the Texas Flag doing under the US Flag? It should be on a seperate pole of equal height

This is McLennan County where the Sheriff in 1993 had law enforcement jurisdiction over the Mt Carmel compound, but allowed federal agents to stage an offense against county residents in an attack and siege that ended in the slaughter of dozens of people, including women and children. The Sheriff did not "protect and serve" - he did not resist the federal usurption of his sworn duties.
