Threads, the new “Twitter killer” app rolled out by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, has surpassed 100 million users in less than a week while Elon Musk’s micro-blogging site has seen traffic “tanking,” according to a tech executive.
The initial burst of success for Threads has fueled a war of words between Musk and Zuckerberg.
The Twitter boss referred to his tech rival as a “cuck” and challenged him to a “d–k measuring contest” over the weekend.
Not only have users been signing up to Threads through their Instagram accounts, but they have also been posting prolifically.
Since the system went online Wednesday, Threads users have written more than 95 million posts and clicked “like” on 190 million posts, according to The Verge.
While Threads has gained momentum in its first few days of operation, Twitter’s traffic has reportedly been “tanking,” according to the CEO of cybersecurity firm Cloudfare.
Matthew Prince, the company CEO, posted a graph to both his Twitter and Threads accounts on Sunday showing the steep decline in traffic.
Prince’s data dovetails with figures released by Similarweb, the web analytics company which said that web traffic to Twitter was down by 5% over the course of the first 48 hours during which Threads went online.
According to Similarweb, Twitter’s web traffic is down 11% compared to the same period last year.

100 million stupid people? just signed up for next level of deception and survelience.
.
But the #MSM fears if they leave Twitter for Threads, Trump will wield Twitter like a Irish shillelagh made of out an #MSM femur, just like he did in 2016.
President Trump is coming back to Twitter. Timing is the only question.
Threads: FBI is watching you.
Twitter suspended me 6 days because I criticized Adam Schiff. I deleted my account. Elon has hired snakes to police conservatives. Same Twitter as in 2020. Looks like Meta is just another platform to humiliate and cutoff free speech for anyone that doesn’t parrot Dem talking points.
I finally broke down and got a Twitter account. It was an exercise in futility.
I spent more time suspended than I did tweeting. Meanwhile lefties could post as they please.
Musk is in over his head or he’s one of them. I suspect he’s one of them.
Nah, this stuff is not that hard, it's a left turn from existing FB Messenger, that's all.
For starters, their stacks don't compare. At all. Here is Twitter's SD pre-Musk, this is all public knowledge (#codeKarle is awesome). That said, I don't know what it looks like today:
All the MSM is reporting this, which means it is likely 🐂💨💩.
Facebook is the OG for faking numbers.
That’s why the advertisers are suing. Facebook is so full of bots now that they can make any number they wish to make.
It’s leftist garbage and nothing they say, including “but” and “and” are truthful.
Musk has openly admitted damaging figures to the loss of billions. He’s walked the walk in this one.
If a horse had that many bots he’d be dead by now -— perhaps threads will meet the same fate. All AI, all the time.
Since Twitter went to a pay model, engagement has gone way down for those who opted not to pay for a blue check mark. Many have abandoned the site because non-blue checks get virtually zero views on their posts.
If anyone wondered how many really stupid, narcissistic people there are in ‘the civilized world’ here is a clue.
Didn’t everyone with Instagram automatically get Threads?
“Didn’t everyone with Instagram automatically get Threads?”
They can apply from their Instagram
Interesting. I basically said I hope they nail his butt to the wall with the evidence. You used words that escape their sensors. Liberal wackos can post about any kind of violence against conservatives and are never banned. Who needs to belong to a social site that muzzles your speech? Not me!
Bots love the new format.
Ok
