As one Navy vet to another, first, we don't need to go along with any of this ICC garbage. Just as we don't see it necessary to convert to metrics on our highways, we are Americans, and at times we need to go it alone. Pull out of the UN as well. I "laugh" at the Secretary of the UN......and I laugh some more!........The Great Oz has spoken!

I wish the voters had as much influence as the UN does. At what point do you consider influence becoming control? If I can exert enough influence on someone, I consider that control.

If a burglar breaks into my home and I find him in my office. If I have a revolver stuck in my waistband, am across the twenty foot room, while he is on his knees going through my desk drawers, it should be sufficient for me to say, "If you get up I will kill you with a shot to the head", don't you think? I realize I don't have physical control of the person but you can bet I am exerting one helluva lot of physicological control over his actions. Is that influence or control?

He who has the power, has the control. In this equation, guess who has the ultimate power...and therefore the control?

As for your analogy, that would certainly be physical control over the intruder. He may have a couple choices he can make, but only within the confines of your control.

That's why Bush had given the $485 million of our bucks last year. He wants them to have control over us, not him.

I won't argue our politicians are slowly relinquishing our sovereignty caused by the unrelenting pressure/influence from the UN communists, the homegrown socialists, and the gods of trade.

When our Senate informed the U.N. that even though Clinton signed the treaty, it still was not effective until and unless the Senate ratified it. The U.N. informed the Senate "Your president signed it, your in".

Wouldn't Clinton's signature be unconstitutional?

I thought the Executive and Judiciary branches are co-equal? How can the executive cede away the authority of the judiciary with the wave of a pen?
