White Officer Wins Job Bias Suit.....Wins Reverse Discrimination Suit

L O S   A N G E L E S, April 18 — A police officer who claimed he was passed over for promotion because he is white was awarded nearly $550,000 Thursday in a reverse discrimination lawsuit against the city of Inglewood.

Lt. Ron Wood claimed the Inglewood City Council, which is predominantly black, chose a black officer for the job of captain in spite of his seniority and superior qualifications.

A jury found that race was a substantial motivating factor in the selection and awarded Wood $34,000 in lost wages, $440,762 in lost future wages and $75,000 for emotional distress.

Wood, 55, said outside court he felt the award was fair and he had gotten his message across.

"I'm not the most popular guy in Inglewood right now," he said. "But there were things that needed to be said."

His lawyer, Gregory Smith, said Wood just wanted "to be vindicated in his belief that he was a victim of reverse discrimination." Smith said the award was only half the amount sought but was fair.

Nelson Atkins, one of the attorneys who represented the city of Inglewood, said there was a lot of testimony from disgruntled city employees that may have influenced the jury.

He added, "I thought it was unfortunate that we didn't have a more diverse jury." There was only one black juror.

Inglewood is a southwestern suburb of Los Angeles, near Los Angeles International Airport.

You'd think his lawyer would have gotten it right and just called it "discrimination".

Note to self: L.A. Times is still full of self-hatred for their sorry white selves.

This is true, there area lot of victims of “Reverse “discrimination out there who are disgruntled

Yes, it would be more fair if there had been a jury full of NAACP members. They would have been much more unbiased.

White Officer Wins Job Bias Suit.....Wins Reverse Discrimination Suit

This is a case of discrimination, there's no "reverse" about it.

Isn't it ironic how the very people who decry racism the loudest tend to be the worst offenders? State-sponsored racism dictates that it's okay if you do it against a white guy.

"Disgruntled city employees." I guess that's one term for the other people who are also victims of government-sponsored racism.

No. It is a euphamism for white honkies.

Oh my, the monster has killed Dr. Frankenstein.

I dentity politics is the death of this nation, so naturally it makes me happy when I see the rules reversed and applied uniformly.

Oh yeah. The degree of success is in direct relation to how loud Jesse Jackass and Al Sharpton (or some wack liberal action committee) will scream about this "injustice".

Still not close to the one FORD lost after which some black woman from personnel said, "I didn't think white men had civil rights". At least they got rid of diversity Naser.

And they will scream, for sure.

Because these rules were NEVER supposed to be enforced uniformly.

They were intended to be heavy burdens on other peoples backs, not their own.

...some black woman from personnel said, "I didn't think white men had civil rights".

I believe it. These people are fed a steady diet of lies from the time that they are little kids. They have the victimhood mentality banged into their heads from day one. They're like the Palestinians. There are "minority" people in Hollywood who are damn near billionaires (like Bill Cosby) who insist that all minorities everywhere are subject to racism from everybody everywhere that isn't of their race. If they don't get a job or are passed over for promotion, it's automatically a racist conspiracy. And all too often, misguided sympathetic juries agree with them.

How true. Didn't OJ Simpson teach us that blacks will always rule in favor of blacks regardless of the evidence in the case.

Can you imagine the reverse, if in a discrimination suit against blacks one of the attorneys lamented that there werent more whites on the jury. The media would have a heart attack.

He added, "I thought it was unfortunate that we didn't have a more diverse jury."

If you read "diverse" as "liberal", you get the true meaning.

In other news, Satan, Lord of the Underworld, made the dramatic first time ever decision to light his kerosene heater. "It's damn cold today." he is quoted as saying. Various demonic sources were unavailable for comment concerning the recent freezing over of hell.
