I think your icon idea is excellent. Goodness knows they have enough useless junk cluttering up the cable news channel screens. This would be a good public service.

Opposite side of town from me. I am down in Johnson County.

Laura is easily the prettiest First Lady in my lifetime. People used to go on and on about how pretty Jackie Kennedy was, but I never did see it.
Laura has a rare combination of inner and outer beauty. She has a gentle spirit. She reminds me very much of my mom in that way.

I mean, what can we really do?
russert showed that complaint by a man whose wife was killed in a plane on 9-11. Making allowances for grief and rage, the man claimed his wife would not have flown if there had been warnings.
That is so ridiculous. There are warnings today, but does anybody stop flying? No, even my daughter, who was always a little afraid of flying, is flying to Hawaii soon.
Would we stop going to malls? There is some suggestion they may be targets. I'll probably go tomorrow.

Yes, we can all see that if anything at all happens, the Dems and the press will try to pin it on the President, as if somehow he can personally guard the entire country 24/7. Cheney said on MTP today something about even if they are effective in stopping 99% of the attacks that 1% they can't stop shows we're still vulnerable (or words something to that effect).

That's another point ... huge race. Will the crowd be any less huge? I doubt it, and it probably shouldn't be.
We don't want to stay huddled in our houses. I really think the news media and the dems have come very close to treason with their recent irresponsible accusations.

Thanks, jg, for the information about the polls. What a cheering thought. I wonder how Hitlery's polls are after her stupid carping at Dubya.
rintense, you are way too good to us. (But, don't stop.)

after all this ridiculous fuss the dems have made, will they still be able to snicker into their tea about the color coded warnings; any warnings, and so on? Amazingly, Gephardt said today on Fox News Sunday that he doesn't like the color coded warning system because so many warnings come out that people just tend to ignore them. Duh! What have we been doing these past few days then Dickie?
I was disappointed that Tony Snow let that comment pass without calling him on it.

Well, duh, Irving is full of Muslims!
If I go to the mall and there are not a bunch of Muslims walking around, I WILL leave at once.

I see. What I saw must have been an example of the notification. I thought it was odd, and was only half listening when it caught my attention. Thanks for explaining.

Wow, that's a great suggestion SW - why don't you send your idea to several of the networks and see what they say??

Being informed will help make the daily decisions a little easier. Being more attentive to "intuition" or that little small voice that seems to know what's best in surreal(best word I can come up with for an example) situations.
I'm curious to know how many grieving people did he have to go through before he found one who blames the President.

None of us want to alter our lives. I am going on blind faith that our government is doing all that is humanly possible. I will say I hope the FBI and CIA will improve their methods of communicating and sharing information. And to show what a redneck I am I would be a lot more comfortable if we saw some major profiling. Good night all!

The guy that was interviewed by Russert (I believe his name is Robert Push) has denied any type of settlement, he is a lawyer and wants to file his own law suit against the airlines and probably this administration now. I have seen this guy on TV at least 20 times and my opinion of him is that he is an opportunist looking to gain all he can from this tragedy.

That will definitely happen (agencies beginning to share and coordinate information.)
I have complete faith in our President's will and ability to do these things, but he can't wave a wand and change agencies that have built up layers of corruption and competition over many years.
As I said on the drudge thread, a lot of FBI people should have been dumped after the fiascos of Ruby Ridge and Waco; instead they were transferred or promoted.
I think Pres. Bush will clean it up, but we can't expect him to do it over night.
