But ya know... Incompetence or conspiracy is entirely possible too.

And then, what are the odds the "serial killer" showed up at that exact time, in that exact place, to murder the girl that was causing so much trouble between Condit and his wife?

What a stroke of luck for Condit. He must have felt he hit the lottery!

Remember, Chandra had a confrontation on the phone with Gary's wife?

Exactly. He's either the luckiest guy on earth -- or unluckiest, however you look at it!

Does anyone know just how far away from the jogging path her remains were found? I mean if it was really far away, it would be more likely that she went to meet someone vs. being pulled off the path and attacked.

And why bury her? If it was a random crime wouldn't the attacker just do the deed and run? Being very far off the path and then being buried seems more pre meditated.

About three years ago, on a Saturday, police were chasing some juveniles who ended up jumping the fence of my inner-city business. The kids ran into the woods surrounding my office with the police following. The chase was interupted by one of the police happening upon a human skull. They put up crime scene tape and began an investigation. Upon returning to work Monday, I was greeted by an officer who explained the finding, told me who they suspected the victim to be, and even stated they knew who commited the crime.

Six months of forensic investigation and searches with dogs came up with around 100 bones scattered over a large area (supposedly by animals). They positively identified the victim by dental records (the original guess was correct), arrested the original suspect, and tried and convicted him.

Knowing the D.C. Police as I do for many years, I can tell you that the former Mayor Berry spent a lot of time making sure the ranks were staffed with fools, and incompetence. After all, he had to make sure he didn't get arrested for doing coke, it had to be the Feds that got him.

Yesterday I saw an article that said they searched 1700 of the 2800 acres, ignoring the most remote...

Personally, I think that Condit is being blackmailed by someone. The body being found, is a warning.

That is my speculation.

Howlin, the nonstop broadcast of those home videos of Chandra enjoying God's blessing of life with her family was nothing short of ghoulish. It is crass and soulless beyond belief. A young woman is dead. Every loved one featured -so happy and secure in those videos - are this moment devestated with grief and pain and loss. Journalists, and those who direct and edit their work, suck.

That makes sense to me. They said the bones were scattered and on the edge of the park.

The body could have been laying in someones basement, sealed in plastic and doused with lime.

In a year, the body would thouroughly decompose and be fairly easy to move to the park.

The DC police are stupid but the park was the center of their investigation.

I don't believe she was killed there.

No one has mentioned the watch. To me that is a critical clue. If she had it on (which I always wear mine while running), it would make sense that Condit would have to get rid of the box.

It might be that the body was dumped there after they searched the area.

Would cadaver dogs be brought in on a missings persons case?

If they were in the park searching for Chandra Levy, I doubt that they were expecting to find her in the woods, listening to her Walkman, or reading a book.

How about a cover up? With the pressure the DCPD had on them they would have found the body in the park with cadaver dogs except for orders at the top not to find it or misleading info that caused them to believe that Chandra was not there. Who was the one who mentioned she might have taken a train trip? And what about the 3am scream at her appartment?

If this guy and his dog are hunting turtles, what are they doing on the steep part of a hill. Turtles are found in lower areas near creeks.

Also who made the decision not to search some parts of that park? And who made the decision not to search that particular part of the Park?

You raise some good points --- where is the owner and his dog. They should have been interviewed by now and be enjoying their 35 minutes of fame.

In addition to the other bums, tramps, and thieves, the dog could have been thrown off the scent by the mere local presence of Hillary. That stench more than covers 17 acres. More like 17 miles.

Or he might have taken the watch back and later thought she might have told someone about it and in a panic tried to get rid of the evidence. Also could have taken it to make it look like a robery.

A year ago, I stated my belief that Chandra was killed by the "spy guys" (CIA,etc.) or at their instigation. It could have been done either as a favor to or as a punishment for Condit. He didn't do it, but he knew that it was going to be done or at least that it had been done.

I stated then that the ones who had done the killing had the body "on ice" somewhere and that it would turn up whenever it was decided that there needed to be a body and evidence which would support a murder charge aimed at Condit, with maybe other sordid details coming our about other politicians.

Condit has been very useful to the "intelligence community" in the past, but his usefulness will end with his leaving office next January. People who know a lot but have no for usefulness to the CIA, etc. have a very short life expectancy.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Condit gets indicted, a lot of very incriminating information comes out about him, and he becomes so depressed that he commits suicide. Or so it would appear. Hasn't we seen that often enough?

"A serial killer...Condit has killed before?!"

Well, Mark Garagoes flat out lied on the Larry King Show last night, when he tried to show a May pattern in the murdered girls discovery.

Joyce Chiang surfaced on April lst.
