Israel Soon to be a 'Christian' Nation?

not according to the prophecies ... the Third Temple, which is coming despite the naysayers, will solidify the Levitical Laws and Deuteronomy's edicts ... only when their Messiah has returned will they recognize Him, nationally, for Who He is ... until that time, some individual conversions, or "completions" as some say, will occur, but Israel will remain strongly Jewish, albeit partitioned it appears, perhaps very soon ...

Of these new immigrants to Israel, many were Christians who claimed a distant ancestor as being Jewish. Still others anxious to leave Russia falsely claimed they were Jewish.

Actually, there is ample evidence in the Bible that Christians are considered 'Jews.'

"You are Abraham's seed and heirs to the promise..." See Eph. 3.

Romans 11 also speaks of those who follow Christ as being 'grafted into the vine' of the Jewish faith.

Food for thought...

One of the basic problems in Israel is the question, "Who is a Jew?" Is one Jewish by religion or by ancestry? If your mother is Jewish, that makes you Jewish, but if your father is Jewish you may choose to be a Jew, though it may take a Rabbi to bless the choice. In America it could be a conservative or reformed Rabbi, but in Israel it has to be an orthodox Rabbi. You can be a convert to Judaism, too, even without any Jewish blood. If you are of Jewish blood, you are considered to be Jewish even if you keep no part of the Covenant and have absolutely no religious beliefs. But it's generally thought, paradoxically, that you repudiate your Judaism if you convert to Christianity and are baptized, even though your blood is pure Jewish. So you can be an atheist Jew but not a Christian Jew, according to the belief of many or most Jews. Or maybe you can be a Christian Jew, because who gets to make the rules? At the moment, its an agreement between the Orthodox rabbis and the Israeli Supreme Court, but that's subject to future political decisions. Or maybe it's not, because as Michael Novak recently pointed out, no one can choose to be Jewish. Instead, it is more properly said that God chooses them. They are the Chosen People. So ultimately it's God who decides who is a Jew.

Altogether, it's a tangled matter. And it's further complicated by intermarriage with Christians and others, and by the regretable fondness of secular Jews for birth control and abortion, which means that they are slowly committing demographic suicide.

Well one good thing would happen if Israel turned Baptist. Wouldn't be no more of those rascals banging their heads up againt a wall you see every time the news has an Israel story. Baptists don't go in for headbanging. Least not, their own heads. parsy.

How curious that am IDF Christian Israeli would object to using a Jewish Bible to swear an oath. The Jewish Bible is not fulfilled to a Christian, but is certainly honored .

I've heard that something like over 70% of Russian immigrants were not Jewish. They are productive citizens and Israel would be wise to take them, they need all the help they can get. When I was in Israel I figured I would be the only Christian. But every Christmas, the city lit up and I knew I was not alone.

But Israel will not truly become a Christian nation until someone (we all know who) returns.
