Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

So criticizing Palin makes him a RINO?

His having an opinion.. no real actions?

Interesting.

We certainly are seeing quite a lot of this these days, aren't we...?

My typical response to all that pouty-faced banging of online sippy cups on high chair trays, in turn, is:

I don’t see anyone as an “ardent” Romney supporter.
A “Rabid” anti obama partizan yes.
We go to war with the army we have,
then we make it into the army we need
to win.

Four years of Romney could be as bad as
four years of Obama, but nowhere near as
bad as EIGHT years of Obama.

It is imperative that we win the SENATE
and keep Obama out.

Romney takes a true conservative out of a position of power and sends him to foreign funerals for the next four years. Once again the conservatives get screwed!

After the end of W’s second term, reports leaked out that Cheney pressured him to stay to the right.

Maybe Ryan can do a bit more than attend foreign funerals...

Always nice to hear from the Free Republic chapter of “Reelect Obama”. Good luck to you in November, but know that I will be on the other side.

So criticizing Palin makes him a RINO?

I thought Palin was now a RINO for supporting Romney. It's hard to keep up.

“Raising cain,
And what do you think barak hussein is??? Truth telling non-socialist???”

You say that as if it is some piece of data that my logic cannot work without. I do not understand how that fact negates the fact that Mitt Romney is the same thing. One would think that you, after acknowledging that Romney is a socialist, would stop and think that maybe, just maybe, what you’re fighting for is utterly futile.

It would satisfy me and I'm a ranking officer in the ABR corps.

I've been around here for a while, and I'm having a hard time understanding the ABR contingent here. Could you and a few of the other ABR FReepers on the thread help me figure it out?

Here's how I see it - opposition to Romney on the right splits the vote and Obama is reelected. Then what? How do you see a second Obama term playing out, and how does that help to advance conservatism? Do you believe that a second Obama term would not be that bad?

“I hope it wasn’t any of the good moderators!”

Well if they were principled enough to resign for not being allowed to rein in a poster they considered a bigot I would assume they were “good” moderators.

Ryan is a superb pick because it puts the election all about what it should be about, and that is the terrible record of Obama on the economy and how to best keep the country from financial ruin.

No one is big enough to save us like the EU and US will save Greece. Without a change of direction economically, you me our children and grandchildren will quickly learn what it is like to live in a third World country with no Benevolent American Hyper power to send us food aid and protect us with their Navy, Army and Marine Corps.

These are serious times. They call for serious and critical thinking. The facts are these O’Bumler has done a superb job of fundamentally changing America from a successful country to a Second World country with poor credit, a foundering economy, and a shrinking Middle-Class. He wishes to fully transform it into a third World basket case.

Vote for a third party, vote the bottom ticket, withhold your vote for Romney. O’Bumbler appreciates your efforts and is in full agreement with your conscientious decision.

You don’t seem to understand. YOU’RE on the Free Republic chapter of Reelect Obama. See, Mitt Romney is Barack Obama after Michael Jackson surgery and a conversion from Islam to Mormonism.

The VP pretty much does what the president lets him do. I don’t think Ryan took it unless he has been assured a very active role in budget issues etc.

There are only two candidates capable of winning the presidential election. To vote for a third party candidate is utter foolishness. To not vote for one of the two major candidates is to concede your vote to the other. Neither is running for pastor, priest or rabbi.

It is neither principled nor patriotic to deny your vote to one who is clearly the better choice for America. All the woulda shoulda coulda chatter is just plain silly. It is time to grow up and play the cards dealt, not the hand we wish we had.

Otherwise, you will reelect the current President. Will that make you proud of your “principled and patriotic” stand against Romney?

Must be the case. Bashing the 'right' because they are 'right' is a typical liberal method of operation.
