Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

If even half of the legends whispered around late night gypsy campfires are true: Laz would hit a one-legged Irene Ryan. ;)

Not a straw argument in the least. By not voting for Romney, you are helping to ensure Obama’s victory. You guys are absolutely prefering Obama.

I am a conservative and a Republican. I hate to break it to you, but we have a two party system, and the Republican one leans right. Even in a multi-party system, coalitions have to be made to gain a majority. To consider Romney a leftist is being wilfully blind, and by not supporting him, you are objectively supporting Obama, who objectively is much much much worse. That is not slavishness, nor disloyalty to conservatism, but plain common sense. We live in the real world, not some fantasy world of your imagination.

It’s so cute when you people willingly promoting and casting your votes for the biggest liberal the GOP ever produced start hopping up and down and screaming out your ‘conservatism’.

Absofrigginlutely precious.

For an encore, will you tell us after your liberal choice for president wins and continues his pro homosexual policies in the military and in churches/faith-based programs, that it is also the fault of us crazy fringe kooks?

How about when his pro homo BS puts more kids into the hands of ‘gay’ parents. YOU know his position. HE stated his approval. And YOU will be responsible for every kid. EVERY kid.

Because you were more concerned with ‘winning’ and your FEAR of Obama than getting off your self centered ass and voting/encouraging others to vote for someone to the left of BILL CLINTON.

Your vote is your approval. The election booth has no entry for ‘but’, ‘against’, or ‘except for’. Vote Romney and you vote FOR Romney...and you vote FOR the Homo agenda, $50 McAbortions, Gun grabbing and Mandates.

Live with it. That’s reality.

So you think Obama will not be ten times more radical in pushing through the legal normalization of sexual deviancy? Romney did not actively seek same sex marriage, the court thrust it upon him. I do wish he had fought back more than he did and refuse to implement, but I do not accept he is an activist pushing the homosexual agenda in the way Obama is. Anyways, good luck with any hope for moral decency in society with Obama in for another four years...

Without a doubt. Once you've finally managed to define "conservative" downwards to the point where all it means -- literally, the ONLY thing it still means -- is "Not Obama": then you're no longer part of any coherent, principled or intellectually defensible political ideology.

All you're doing, at that point, is taking part in an imbecilic, nation-wide version of "Shirts Vs. Skins."

Which is absolutely fine. For children.

Instead of hiding the shame you feel for voting for a liberal, under more BS, why don’t you tell me, in detail, where one thing I said is wrong. Just one.

Please show all work.

If you and the rest of the Romney crowd joined us in voting for Tom H. or Goode, it’s a 100% mathematical certainty that the conservative would win this election.

Ergo, you have no excuse.

So, how can anyone take this "religion" seriously once they learn how it all began and why it was felt necessary to create this whole new religion?

It's GOD's fault!!!

Unless Jesus Christ was a candidate (and the bible is quite clear that when the government is on his shoulders it won’t by by human election) then some mix of goodness and badness has to be voted for if one votes for any person. And votes for unviable candidates are simply vanity votes; they effect nothing but vapid symbolism.

All the hellfire and brimstone in the world can’t get around this simple fact.

You haughtily proclaim you are more of a conservative and a better Christian than all the posters to whom you are telling to leave this site.

While...

I prayfully proclaim Scripture to all the posters on this site that CLEARLY has shown that FALSE TEACHING needs to be exposed and rebuked.

Why do so many here fail to obey the Word?

http://www.mrm.org/heaven-and-hell#Hell

Apostle and popular church educator John Widtsoe wrote:

"Now, it may be contended that a judgment, with some degree of salvation for all, encourages the sinner to pursue his dark ways. Not so. However generous the judgment, it is measured by our works. Our punishment will be the heavy regret that we might have received a greater reward, a higher kingdom, had our lives conformed more nearly to truth. Such remorse may yield keener pain than physical torture." (Understandable Religion, p. 89)

While Widtsoe is careful not to call a heavenly kingdom "hell", he is nonetheless certain that there will be a keen regret for lost opportunities:

"Humanity will be grouped according to their works in three main divisions: Celestial (like the sun), Telestial (like the moon), Terrestrial (like the earth). Within each group there will be many gradations and divisions, until from the lowest to the highest in all groups there will be a series of gradually ascending glories. There can be no talk of a hell, except for the few 'sons of Perdition,' but undoubtedly the regret for lost opportunities will be keen among those in the lower degrees of glory." (Program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, p. 226)

Joseph Fielding Smith, on the other hand, considers the tormenting regret experienced in the bottom two heavenly kingdoms and concludes "in that sense it will be hell":

"This earth will become a celestial kingdom when it is sanctified. Those who enter the terrestrial kingdom will have to go to some other sphere which will be prepared for them. Those who enter the telestial kingdom, likewise will have to go to some earth which is prepared for them, and there will be another place which is hell where the devil and those who are punished to go with him will dwell. Of course, those who enter the telestial kingdom, and those who enter the terrestrial kingdom will have the eternal punishment which will come to them in knowing that they might, if they had kept the commandments of the Lord, have returned to his presence as his sons and his daughters. This will be a torment to them, and in that sense it will be hell." (Answers to Gospel Questions, v. 2, p. 210)

This line of thinking is interesting in light of Joseph Smith's following teaching:

"A man is his own tormenter and his own condemner. Hence the saying, They shall go into the lake that burns with fire and brimstone. The torment of disappointment in the mind of man is as exquisite as a lake burning with fire and brimstone" (TPJS, p. 357)

The entry in the Encyclopedia of Mormonism on "Damnation" essentially explains that the bottom two kingdoms of heaven are kingdoms of damnation:

"Just as there are varying degrees and types of salvation, coupled with eternal progression in some areas (D&C 76:96-98; 131:1-4), so are there varying degrees and types of damnation. In LDS doctrine, to be damned means to be stopped, blocked, or limited in one's progress. Individuals are damned whenever they are prevented from reaching their full potential as children of God. Damnation is falling short of what one might have enjoyed if one had received and been faithful to the whole law of the gospel. In this sense, all who do not achieve the highest degree of the Celestial Kingdom are damned, even though they are saved in some degree of glory."
