Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Your behaviour on this forum disgusts me.

Yeah; I DO tend to act like an arrogant little bastard at times.

But what do you think of the THINGS that I post?

Can you point out the error in ANY of it?

wow some folks here just make me laugh. Show me where I said I prefer a person convert to Mormonism over anything else????

I said and I believe I said it in English, that I have never in my life known a Roman Catholic to convert to Mormonism, whereas I have known some to attend other denominations.

Was that really so hard for you? I’m sure it’s happened but there is not exactly a flood of people converting to Mormonism.

But to make it about religion makes you look like a bigot.

To EXCLUDE religion makes you look like a fool.

You think I shouldn’t vote for him because he is a Mormon.

Ol' Roy said THAT?

Where?

You know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I really can’t get all bothered with people who think Romney is Obama’s twin and then start ranting about an all Mormon Supreme Court. I guess you should just vote for Obama.

I mean really, I’m on Free Republic for 14 years and it’s got to the point where people are OFFENDED by the statement that my main issue is defeating Barack Hussein Obama, leftist socialist democrat and marxist.

But my main issue should be Mormonism. Gotcha.

You are, or have been a student of Robert L. Millett.

I feel like I have a sense of responsibility to be as, as gentle and kind and, in my case, Christian as possible. It's, to me, if you're, if you want to talk about Christianity or what it stands for, you have to look carefully at what it produces in people. My religion, for me, not only sets forth my theology, but it sets forth my practical, daily living in terms of how I treat other people and how I come to love them. And whether they feel the same way about ultimate and eternal things that I do or not.

You think that he suddenly reversed himself on almost every political position of his life, and that the almost stroke like transformation happened at almost age 60, instantly, and just as he was announcing for the presidency?

Nothing requires people to be so self delusional, and mindlessly cult like.

I'm on Free Republic for 11 years and I'll make a deal with you. I won't be offended by that if you won't be offended by my saying I want to replace Obama with a conservative.

Romney's religion is not an issue with me. Romney's liberalism/progressivism, on the other hand, is.

Let’s be real, FR has taken on an anti Mormonism trend and there is no flood of Mormons pushing their faith here. Not saying there are not a few.

Well then you are not aquainted of history here williams in spite of when you signed up. Over 5 years ago, mormon posters were all over the religion forum and about 5 years ago Christians began to counter their messages. The mormons even announced a campaign to 'hose the pigs' (refering to the Christians) to silence us. It failed. They then went to abusing the Caucus and Ecumenical tags to continue their attacks on Christianity. It reached such a point of abuse that JR abolished it for them.

The anti-mormonism bleat is commonly used by those who don't bother to really read the articles posted. If they did, they would see that those posts commonly cite mormon sources themselves. Essentially, mormon sources are the anti-mormonism.

As for Mormonism, I’m older than I wish and based on my whole life experience I cannot imagine worrying about Mormons.

It ain't about MORMONism.

It's about FALSE TEACHINGS...

'Worry' about that!

Acts 17:18-19
 18.  A group of Epicurean and Stoic philosophers began to dispute with him. Some of them asked, "What is this babbler trying to say?" Others remarked, "He seems to be advocating foreign gods." They said this because Paul was preaching the good news about Jesus and the resurrection.
 19.  Then they took him and brought him to a meeting of the Areopagus, where they said to him, "May we know what this new teaching is that you are presenting?

Acts 18:11
So Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God.

Romans 15:4
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Romans 16:17
I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.

1 Corinthians 4:17
For this reason I am sending to you Timothy, my son whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.

1 Corinthians 11:2
 2.  I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the teachings,  just as I passed them on to you.

Ephesians 4:14-15
 14.  Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.
 15.  Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:15
So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings  we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.

2 Thessalonians 3:6
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers, to keep away from every brother who is idle and does not live according to the teaching  you received from us.

1 Timothy 1:3-4
 3.  As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer
 4.  nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work--which is by faith.

1 Timothy 1:7
They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

1 Timothy 2:7
And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle--I am telling the truth, I am not lying--and a teacher of the true faith to the Gentiles.

1 Timothy 4:1-2
 1.  The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.
 2.  Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron.

1 Timothy 4:6
If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.

1 Timothy 4:11
  Command and teach these things.

1 Timothy 6:3-5
 3.  If anyone teaches false doctrines and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching,
 4.  he is conceited and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions
 5.  and constant friction between men of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain.

2 Timothy 1:13
What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus.

 2 Timothy 2:15-17
 15.  Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.
 16.  Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
 17.  Their teaching will spread like gangrene.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
 16.  All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
 17.  so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

 2 Timothy 4:3-4
  3.  For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
  4.  They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Titus 1:11
They must be silenced, because they are ruining whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach--and that for the sake of dishonest gain.

Titus 2:1
You must teach what is in accord with sound doctrine.

Titus 2:15
These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you.

 Hebrews 13:9
Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.

 2 Peter 2:1-3
 1.  But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.
 2.  Many will follow their shameful ways and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
 3.  In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

2 John 1:10
If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him.

Not interested ... I have no intention of engaging in a BS slinging contest with a deranged dairy cow.

For a time, I was amused by the sight of the heretics ranting against the apostates.

Then it became repetitive and boring ...

Now?

There are numerous legitimate reasons to oppose the socialist, abortionist, homosexualist gun-grabber. Your incessant drivel distracts from them.

Run along, now.

I shan't respond any further to your uninvited and undesired advances.

Oh, honey. What a sad and angry little woman you are.
I do not have an anti-Mormon bone in my body, that is your projecting on to me something you are feeling, apparently.
Tell me about your candidate, trumpet them, so I can learn who they are, rather than getting your panties in a twist because I said I don’t know who they are.
It would seem to be a better way to approach the subject of conservative senators.
I am really sorry that you are confusing exposure of Mormonism with your projection of anti-Mormon.
Are you sure your anti-Christian attitude isn’t the real issue.

The 7 are for non-Jews. As for the 613, I already explained.

If I were a Jew; I'd opt out!

So; which do YOU have to follow: the 7 or the 613?

I agree with you 100% It is my opinion Romney will govern as a conservative with some bouts of moderate. That’s my best hope and Romney is getting my vote. For lots of reasons like Supreme Court, US Attorneys. Obamacare, national defense.

Maybe you believe Romney will be liberal on all these, I don’t. Obama must go.

Are you referring to the following from the New York Times?

“After supporting embryonic stem cell research generally, Mr. Romney took a more specific stand against creating embryos for scientific experimentation. And when the State Legislature sent him a bill to expand access to emergency contraception, he vetoed it. He said a medical professional had advised him that the drug, known as the morning-after pill, would “terminate life after conception.”

As the N.Y.T. further explains, this was July 2005. Arguably the very moment he decided he wanted to run for the presidency. Read the whole article. It thoroughly defines Romney’s various positions on abortion and when he changed for political expediency.

N.Y.T. - “For Mr. Romney, that appears to have been a pivotal moment. He recently told the editorial board of The Des Moines Register that he realized then that he could not “just leave things the way they were,” as he had hoped. In July 2005, the day after his veto on the emergency contraception bill, he described himself in the Boston Globe opinion article as a “pro-life governor in a pro-choice state.”

Your link reposted to see what a despicable person Mitt Romney really is:

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/12/us/politics/romneys-path-to-pro-life-position-on-abortion.html?pagewanted=all

Remember, you posted the N.Y.T. link first. Did you think I wouldn’t read the whole thing?
