It gets more difficult each day for Democrats to top themselves with saying something completely over the top. Alas, the latest of the nut cases is Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY). As pointed out on Little Green Footballs earlier this week, at a community meeting in Ithaca, NY, Hinchey entered into a diatribe about how the infamous Rathergate memos were actually planted by Karl Rove as part of a massive conspiracy.
In an audiotape recorded by a reader of Little Green Footballs at the townhall meeting, Hinchey first claimed to have direct evidence of Rove’s involvement, but then backtracked from this statement.
Audience Member: Do you have any evidence for that?
Congressman Hinchey: Yes I do. Once they did that —
Audience: [Murmuring]
Congressman Hinchey: ...once they did that, then it undermined everything else about Bush’s draft dodging. Once they were able to say, ‘This is false! These papers are not accurate, they’re, they’re, they’re false, they’ve been falsified.’ That had the effect of taking the whole issue away.
Audience Member: So you have evidence that the papers came from the Bush administration?
Congressman Hinchey: No. I — that’s my belief.
Hinchey’s lunacy continued on Hannity & Colmes last night when Hinchey again claimed he had evidence of Rove’s work.

Sean has been toying with and beating the ever living bejeesus out of Hinchey on his show today..
I had to turn it off, so offensive was the odious nature of this long time NY 'public servant' aka moron without a clue, who is oblivious to how ridiculous he sounds.
Every time these loonies open their mouths they deliver us another 10,000 votes.
I also heard the man. He really sounded loony, as in paranoid. He refused to either apologize, or substantiate his accusation against Karl Rove, just went on and on about Williams, and Jeff Gannon, and Hannity.

What I heard of Hannity's radio show today was priceless... Hinchey is certifiable! I hope Sean puts today's show into his audio archives.
Some guy just called up Hannity and admitted on the air that he voted for Hinchey. "Never again!" he said. Hmmm... Can Hinchey be impeached?
Is this kook Hinchey your congressman? If so you have my sincere sympathy!
I suspect he could actually be laughed out of office. No joke.
I would welcome a complete investigation on the false documents that cBS used, to try and unseat the President during war. They may start by investigating Bill Burkett's significant role, and his need to get in touch with the DNC which cBS did for him. His daughter, when the story broke, said she didn't believe the story her own father was shilling to cBS, and indicated he had a book coming out soon.

Why won't Sean play the tape which contains the threats that Hinchey made against him? If the situation were reversed, you'd bet that they would have NO qualms about playing it!

You should have heard the show. Sean kept asking him, "Did you make threats against me behind the scenes?". The congressman just kept sidestepping the question in typical liberal fashion. He told Sean that he would "hurt him publicly" (that's how Sean describes the gist of Hinchey's threat).
Wow! I missed that part completely!
Wait a minute. I think I am confused. Isn't there still an ongoing conversation over at DU that the documents are not fake? So now are they claiming that Rove gave "real" documents and then had someone call them fake to just get back at CBS? Next up, old Hinchey will be saying Rove is causing the weather to be bad on voting day.
He just would not stop, Sean was taping everything so he should have a lot of sound bites to play in the future.
Jeez, to think people like this are running ruining the government!
