It looks like the Barack Obama citizenship issue will not die until he is inaugurated. It probably will not end even then.
Now the U.S. Supreme Court will discuss the matter in private because one justice decided it was worthy. Before fingering the member of our highest court, I will give a little background information on the case. If you do not think too hard about it, you can probably guess which Supreme Court Justice is responsible.
Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed suit against Nina Wells, the New Jersey Secretary of State, claiming that she had not performed her duty to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
Donofrio originally asked a state court to review the citizenship of Barack Obama, John McCain and Roger Calero. Calero was the Socialist Worker’s Party Presidential candidate. He was born in Venezuela. That is a cut and dry case.
John McCain was born in Panama but on an American military base. Legal scholars believe birth on an American military base qualifies as a “natural-born citizen.” A “natural-born citizen” is one of the requirements to be President.
For Obama, it is the old born in Kenya story again. Anyone who doubts that Obama was not born in Hawaii, please refer to Politifact and Factcheck investigations. Hawaii does not allow birth records to be publicly viewed. This is why no one can go in and see the certificate. It is not because Obama is hiding them, or they were never there. Read this article from Foolocracy if you want more information.
Anyway, after Donofrio’s case was rejected at the state level, he presented it to Supreme Court Justice David Souter who rejected it. Donofrio then presented it to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas who put it on the court docket for a conference on December 5. If four of the nine justices decide to hear the case, then full oral arguments will be scheduled.
Now it is possible Thomas wants to review Calero’s eligibility as a Presidential candidate. There are plenty of acceptable reasons for this. However, the timing, 10 days before the Electoral College meets, only gives hope and ammunition for those who believe Barack Obama has conspired to create the greatest hoax in world history — that he and his family have been hiding his Kenyan citizenship since he was a few days old so he could run for President.

By the way, for those still questioning Obama’s and McCain’s citizenship qualifications, al-Qaeda did fly planes into the Twin Towers, aliens have not abducted millions of people for medical experiments, and the moon is not made of cheese.

I do believe that the job would go to the sargent at arms of the Senate(or maybe the Congress). I do believe he is the only one who can arrest the president, and is duly appointed to do so.

Why Obama doesn’t just show his vault copy birth certificate is probably problematic for him. It’s not that it will show that he wasn’t born in Hawaii, it probably does. But that it shows some other information that would be very embarrassing for him.
My guess is that the fathers name listed on the birth certificate is ‘Frank Marshall Davis’, or ‘unknown’! And if the father is ‘unknown’ his name on the birth certificate is probably listed as Barry Dunham (his mothers maiden name).
If Davis is listed as the father, and since Davis is/was a U.S. citizen then Obama is, by natural law and Hawaiian law, a natural born citizen. If the fathers name is listed as unknown, and since natural born citizenship follows the father, it becomes very muddled as to whether or not he’s “natural born”. A U.S. citizen, probably. Natural born...doubtful.
Another fly in the ointment is that we know that he moved to Indonesia with his mother and was ‘adopted’ by Lolo Soetoro (his mothers second husband), and that he went to school there as Barry Soetoro. The question then becomes...When did he become Barack Hussein Obama II?
There would be some court record where he legally changed his name from Soetoro to Obama. If he didn’t legally change his name then America just voted in a fraud, someone who ran as both a Senator and as President under an assumed name. I think that’s a big no-no!
Also, being adopted by an Indonesian he would be an Indonesian citizen, and could only become a U.S. citizen through ‘naturalization’. And naturalized citizens can’t be President.
I know this is kind of convoluted, but I think something on this order has to be why he’s willing to spend hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of donated dollars to hide it.

How’s that. Biden would only “then the Vice President elect shall act as President until a President shall have qualified;”. It doesn’t say that the VP BECOMES President-Elect. Only that he ACTS as President until one who is qualified is elected.
I read that to mean that since Biden ran as a VP candidate, he can only BE a VP. Electors vote for both President and Vice President, not a ticket. It just happens that that’s the way they do it. The electors would have to vote for a candidate that ran as President. No?
We’d go back to a split party administration as the country started. The winner is President, and second place gets to be VP. Wouldn’t that be something...McCain as President, and Biden as VP.
I don’t think there will be “war”. There will be riots and a few streets will burn, certainly. But ... soon enough clearer heads on the other team will realize they have been duped by a small group of elitists who feel themselves above the law. Anger will be properly directed soon enough and, with luck, wrath will follow shortly thereafter. Guess we’ll see if the SCOTUS honors their purpose or not.

this has been my view all along.
Even if he was born in Hawaii (and in theory has nothing to hide), he may be deliberately withholding the BC so he can foment a Constitutional crisis - or at least develop the sentiment in the body politic that the Constitution is an out-of-date and flawed docuument.
If he really is unqualified for the Presidency, he and the Dem power players who failed to vet his candidacy should all go to jail.
This will get very messy if the Supremes find some red meat here!

I think though that it will not get to that because I truly believe that the justices will duck the issue. I've been wrong before though, so, as you say, we'll see.

I think we're seeing the first coup d'bureaucracy unfold. No one ever contemplated the notion that a foreigner would be so audacious as to run for president, and thus it was never put in anyone's job description to verify citizenship. A scenario of "Hey, I thought that was YOUR job!"
Candidates are put on the ballot state by state. When quizzed on who verifies a candidate's eligibility, the California Secretary of State answered, "The party." Well gee, we know we can depend on the Democrats to thoroughly vet all candidates, right?
As for the definition, seems a common-sense meaning would apply: A natural-born citizen is one who is born a citizen.
Gosh knows our constitution has in places been mangled beyond recognition, but if it's established that Obama is not a natural-born citizen (and I believe that to be the case), yet he is allowed to take office and/or remain in office, then the rule of law is really over for the USA. Rest assured the left will fight tooth and nail for exactly that.

Our Constitution in Article II Section 1 Paragraph 5 states “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President”.
Mr. Donofrio represents a considerable number of citizens noting the conspicuous failure of the presidential-designate to produce sufficient proof of compliance with the above constitutional requirement.
The work of Mr. Ron Polarik has shown all Certificates of Live Birth to date to have been forgeries.
Thank you for your consideration of this extremely critical matter.

Stop the Obama Constitutional Crisis
When you were first elected and as tradition requires you have sworn the oath: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me G-d.”
Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution reads: “No Person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of this constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.”
There are numerous questions as to Obama’s citizen status raising suspicion and doubt about Obama constitutional qualification to be president. To settle these questions Mr. Obama must produce proof of citizenship!
Documents that must be produced include;
(a) a certified copy of “vault” (original long version) birth certificate;
(b) certified copies of all reissued and sealed birth certificates in the names Barack Hussein Obama, Barry Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barack Dunham and Barry Dunham;
(c) a certified copy Certification of Citizenship;
(d) a certified copy Oath of Allegiance taken upon age of maturity;
(e) certified copies of admission forms for Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School; and
(f) certified copies of any court orders or legal documents changing his name from Barry Soetoro.
It is reasonable that these documents should be produced considering that his father is Kenyan, his adoptive father is Indonesian, and his grandmother claims to have been present at his birth in Kenya. If he is a natural born citizen then producing these documents should not be any problem.
These allegations will not go away until Mr. Obama produces proof to federal authorities and the public. If he will not do so voluntarily he must be compelled by every means available. You, as an employee of The People, have sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution.
We The People are demanding you to make every effort, both public and private, to resolve this fundamental Constitutional question before 20 January.

Now that I think of it, it would probably be Hillary.
I BellStar was born in a Army Hospital in Yokohama Japan where my dad a young Lt. in the U.S. Army and Mom were stationed when I was born. I was an American Citizen from day one. I do not have a birth certificate only U.S. States can issue them. I and otters like John McCain also a military dependent when he was born have a report of birth from the U.S. State Department. We are and always were American Citizens because both parents were. That is not the case with Mr. Obama if in fact it turns out he was born in Kenya.
It's the only logical explanation. Obama isn't dumb enough not to know the rules. We know he hangs out with far far far leftists whose stated aim is to "change" our form of government.
I think the language was mainly in case the president was not selected by the electoral college because of lack of majority and the House hadn't selected one yet. Even if Biden weren't president in that case he would act as president for the rest of the term. Similar confusion happened about what Tyler's official position was after Harrison died.

No. The electors can vote for whoever they darn well please. There have been a scattering of electors who make various protest votes, but none have ever affected an election. In 2004 one elector from Minnesota even voted for John Edwards for both president and vice president. Since the votes were secret they don't know who did it or why.
Sadly, I do not expect much out of this.
