The time to challenge President-elect Obamas citizenship has long since passed. Based on long-standing principles of election law, opponents must raise defects in nominating petitions, including the eligibility of the candidate, at the time of the filing of the nominating petition. Petitions were filed in late 2007 and early 2008. There were no legal challenges And not for nothing: Dont you think that Senator Clinton would have raised this issue in order to keep BHO off the ballot? Citizenship will remain as a political issue, and may return as a legal issue in 2012.

You said — “I’m guessing that you don’t have one.”
I had no intention of offering you one. I said one can estimate it from the number of cases around the country. That’s just as good.
But, at that time I had no idea that you didn’t know how to estimate... LOL...
If you all are just going to make stuff up, why stop at $800,000 or $1M? Why not a billion? LOL!
I imagine next week it'll be $100 million.
And I can estimate too. I estimate he has spent $0 to keep his birth certificate sealed as Hawaii is doing that free of charge. I know, I know... It's just one big conspiracy!
You said — “If you all are just going to make stuff up, why stop at $800,000 or $1M? Why not a billion? LOL!”
Basically, because that wouldn’t be a good estimate.... :-)
You're someone who apparently can't take anyone having a differing opinion of you. Pushing BS is not "defending the U.S. Constitution" either.
What is it with the fringe elements and not having their party's guy in the White House that drives them so nuts? My whole life it has been like this. When Clinton was in power it was Vince Foster and some other stuff. Than Bush won and the left went bonkers for eight years with the aforementioned 9/11 "truther" crap among many other things. And now, before Obama is even sworn in, America is treated to birth certificate conspiracy theories (yeah, yeah, everyone always thinks their conspiracy theories aren't crazy and it is just the other ones that are.) Enough already.
This birth certificate thing is going nowhere. Anyone who thinks it will are probably the same people who thought McCain would win a week out of the election and that API was a day away from releasing the tape.
“No court should now reverse those elections and the choices of one hundred and twenty million people. To do so would be to invite legal and civil chaos. To do so would create a power vacuum which could be a national security threat.”
Charlie, recommend you consider coming clean with your handlers and telling them you didnt make it to first base on this site.
Let me add, there are no elections to reverse at the moment, despite your attempt to cower us into doing so.
Further, as others have pointed out, there is clear language in the 20th amendment that addresses this precise factual setting.
Finally, any legal and civil chaos that occurs will be caused by those who do not want to follow that clear language. You may have also noticed the general tone here is Bring it on!
Skipper18: Removing him would now require a literal military coup.
My response to both you and Charlie: I disagree but do believe there will be civil unrest by those who bought into the fraud.
Courage is the price of freedom (courtesy of Amelia Earhart).
Missnry: Every red blooded conservative should be storming the capitol at this point until the alleged American produces what is REQUIRED of him.
Actually, O, his handlers and his legal team have anticipated this scenario and are prepared to present all manner of misleading arguments and evidence in order to stall until after Jan 20.
I believe it would be far better that the Republicans prepare to demonstrate conclusively on Jan 8 that he is not natural born
STAND UP AMERICA! The presidential election is not over!
We voted for electors, not the individual candidates. The electors vote on or after December 15, 2009. The results are then presented to a joint session of Congress and objections may be heard on January 8, 2009 pursuant to the 20th amendment and Public Law 110-430. See the letter on my About page hand-delivered to the local offices of my Republican Senators and Representatives. I urge you to take similar action, even if it is simply faxing a one page letter to Washington, D.C.
If things don't work out for Barry, it's not necessarily the end of his political career. Maybe he can run for high office somewhere in Europe. They might be willing to suspend their qualifications to accomodate the Messiah.
Your #104 is the best post yet!
It's obvious to conservatives and not so much to fake conservatives like the article poster.
People who poo-poo this issue seem a little DU-esque to me. What we have is a man who couldn’t get a security clearance for a defense contractor, who is totally unvetted going to be President. IF THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE ISN’T A BIG DEAL, WHY DOESN’T HE JUST PRODUCE IT?
while I poo-pooed the birth certificate thing, I like you am wondering why he doesn’t just produce it. if it does not exist, he is in real trouble.
The U.S. Constitution will not be mocked or laughed at......while MO is a joke......the issue of a controlling legal authority determining the legality of Obama’s right to the presidency is legitimate. It may be that the SCOTUS will simply review the facts and confirm his legitimacy, but if he is not indeed legitimate I believe they will act.
Unrest probably encouraged, not so subtley, by Obama who no doubt would perceive any attempt to thwart his messianic aspirations as a case of lese-majesty.
Yeah..., some people just don’t have any common sense... :-)
According to you Section 1 of Article II of the Constitution
means nothing.
"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of
the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this
Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President;
neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who
shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years,
and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."
The founding fathers wrote this for a good reason of which you neither care about or understand.
So you call the People who want the constitution followed
conspiracy nuts.
Your new here.
We are here to fight the incursion of big do good (road to hell) government into our lives.
And we will fight by any means like our forefathers fought the British.
Nothing you can say, no names you can call will deter us from the pursuit of a
