According to World Net Daily and The American Vision blog, a man was pulled over in Louisiana for his “subversive” bumper sticker Don’t Tread on Me.
He was held and released after 30 minutes and warned by police that his bumper sticker sent a subversive message.Libertas
Subversive for who? Tyrants maybe?

There is a very good chance that the cop knows absolutely nothing about American history.
That flag was flown on every commissioned US Navy ship during the Bicentennial year of this once great country.

Just wondering. The officer is a knucklehead, either way. But if I find myself in his bailiwick any time soon, I’d like to have the correct flag available.

Apparently, the cop doesn't know what subversion is, and even if he did, it's hardly a matter of enforcement for county mounties.

I just shake my head sometimes.
All this makes me want to do is put one on my car. In fact, I have been wanting this flag for the front of our house.
This is insane.
You know something else,,, I drive a lot for my day job. Several hundred miles a day. I have noticed an increase in Obama bumper stickers. They seem to be everywhere now. I struck my mind that,,, well,, I am wondering if some people are putting them on their car out of fear. This would not surprise me. But I live central PA and have definitely noticed an increase in Obama stickers. More than I ever saw during the election.
Here’s my take on why this guy got pulled over. The police officers didn’t imagine a subversive message on their own, rather, I think they might have gotten some “Homeland Security training materials” from Washington, which would likely include a pictorial or video displaying those left-wing bureaucrat’s fantasies about what far-right potential terrorists use for identifying insignia. This is the type of material that the Feds have been sending for years to local, county and state police to educate them about street gangs and white supremacist groups.
That being said, the message of that flag is only subversive if you are a tyrant, or someone with tyrannical apsirations. I think that may really tell us something about the motives of the people calling this proud symbol of our heritage subversive.
I agree with you. That far out of Alexandria, the cops don’t have too much “continuing ed” requirements. Oh my! Totally not surprised about small town Louisiana cops acting like Jackie Gleason in Smokey & the Bandit. Stay away from Powhatan on LA 1!
I wonder how many of them actually understand the oath they took when they were sworn in. I suspect it was meaningless to a lot of them.
Got a little Don't Tread on Me on my yellow jeep ... looks pretty good, and when I get pulled over by Barako Fife ... it'll make a good picture.
