This won’t be the first Hispanic on the SC. Judge Napolitano commented on it this morning.

Are you kidding? The republicans have become the masters of pander, and they sold their principles to Satan years ago.

Plus, they’re pussies.

They’ll fold like a cheap suit. Any talk of meaningful Republican opposition to the abortionist is nothing more than willful delusion.

Why does it matter if she’s the first Hispanic woman? Either she’s qualified for the position, both in terms of her background and her willingness to decide cases based on the words written in the Constitution of the United States, or she’s not qualified. The prejudice of affirmative action, where we use different standards because someone is a member of a “minority or disadvantaged” group needs to come to an end. We need to make these decisions based on the content of a person’s character and not on the color of their skin.

THe DNC totally trashed Clarence Thomas. The black voting block didn’t care. The RNC needs to vote based on principles, not race/gender.

This isn't a new scheme, remember, FDR succeeded in stacking the Supreme Court.

A set-up Propaganda Media Spot so that when the GOP does oppose her for her ideology then the foundation will have been set so they can pounce on Republican’s as being the typical Evil Racists that they are.

That will run their Media Cycle so they don’t have to cover the disassembly of our security and foreign policy with the new International Thugs Nuclear Weapons Salesmen, or the horrendous overspending, or the wretched jobs situation, etc.

All responsibilities of Obama but nothing they will hold him to account for - because, you know, its all about the RACISM!?

They won’t go after the nominee of a fellow Republicrat party member.

What the heck do they mean by "not take the bait"? Roll over and play dead?

This issue is being looked at the wrong way. She was a George H. W. Bush appointee who is rated by neutral parties as a centrist judge. She seems qualified from the perspective of education, performance, and experience; the question that remains is whether she'll be a good judge in terms of where she falls on the political spectrum.

Liberals care about the color of her skin. Conservatives do not. Would you rather liberals rally behind a centrist judge appointed to the Federal bench by a Republican President (because she happens to be a woman and a minority), or would you rather they lined up the votes behind a super-liberal white guy? Because that's what the left is trading here. They're giving up ground on the political spectrum in exchange for clearing race and gender hurdles. This actually could be the best possible outcome for conservatives, given the total lock on the elected branches of government that liberals currently have.

"Would Republicans Dare Vote Against The First Hispanic Woman?"

She's the first Hispanic women? Really? All those other Hispanic women I've met over the years were fakes?

Did the Democrat congress vote for Rodrigues? Linda Chavez?

If the Hispanic woman was a far-left baby-killing liberal mouthpiece, without a doubt. But that's just me. Who knows what that bunch of hacks in Washington will do?

They’d better oppose her! She’s wholly unqualified and, based upon her slime trail of horrible decisions (her judgements have been overturned like 80% of the time), she’s a danger to the bench. Affirmitive Action be damned! I don’t care if she’s green and from the Planet Xenon, she DOES NOT belong on the bench. She’s also admitted a penchant for legislating from the bench (although her supporters are saying that issue was mischaracterized - of course, sure!). This is just so telling of Zero’s agenda!

I’m hispanic, I’m a woman, and I’m telling the Republican Leadership right now: FIGHT HER AS HARD AS YOU CAN! SHE DOES NOT BELONG ON THE BENCH AND WILL HELP RUIN THIS COUNTRY! IF YOU THOUGHT SOUTER WAS BAD, YOU AIN’T SEEN NOTHIN’ YET!

They’d better grow a pair on this one. I’m sick of watching them wussifed into inaction or acquiescence!!! Stop trying to woo the hispanic vote - at this point they need to worry about getting the Repulican vote.

There, off my chest. I feel much better now. sarc/

Actually, Linda Chavez is kind of a fake. She’s just someone with a Spanish last name who has used it to make a career. Can’t speak a word of Spanish and she’s proud of it.

Herbert Walker Bush - no thanks, I don’t take that recommendation as useful.
