Episcopal Priest: God Rejoices in Abortion
Creative Minority Report ^ | 6-24-09 | Matt

Posted on 06/24/2009 7:01:39 AM PDT by marcbold

Episcopalian Priest, the Rev. Nina Churchman wrote a letter to Episcopal Life Online saying that women shouldn't have to ask for forgiveness for aborting a child. In fact, Rev. Churchman then goes one step further and says God rejoices in the woman's choice to abort. Here's the text in full:

After reading the 3 June article, "Pregnancy-loss Prayers", I found the text for Rachel's Tears online and was sickened to discover that the rite for abortion is couched wholly in terms of sin and transgression. The Episcopal Church, by resolution, has long held that women have the freedom to choose an abortion. It is not considered a sin. That this new rite begins with the words, "I seek God's forgiveness..." and includes "God rejoices that you have come seeking God's merciful forgiveness..." is contrary to the resolution. Women should be able to mourn the loss of an aborted fetus without having to confess anything. God, unlike what the liturgy states, also rejoices that women facing unplanned pregnancies have the freedom to carefully choose the best option - birth, adoption or abortion - for themselves and their families...

Humanism,Moral Relativism, and Liberation Theology have destroyed the Episcopalian church.

The insanity is spreading. Now the left has control of some of the Christian churches.

Next time read someone’s post in its entirety for its own intrinsic value before jumping to your own conclusions.
I’m sure there are websites for just such a thing as I thought Rachel’s Tears was. THere’s nothing I said that undermines anything anyone else says or feels about abortion, except the idiot and beside-the-point Episcopalians.

So God ‘rejoices’ when a woman chooses to abort and deny life to His creation. Now I’ve heard everything!

I don’t want to say the thoughts I have right now... I will not be reduced to this woman’s level. One day she will have to answer to God for why she led His people astray. I only feel bad for the people that are being brainwashed by this propaganda.

“There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.” (Proverbs 6:16-19)

Doesn’t get much more innocent than a baby.

"..they have real nice buildings."

"The Church" is a spiritual organism composed of scattered individuals in whom the Holy Spirit resides. As as such, it is invisible. The Church isn't a physical "building".

I believe that’s by design.

Communist Goals (1963)

27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with “social” religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.”

She and her ilk are modern day worshipers of Molech.

Offering their children to be burned in the Pagan worshipping fire.

Well, whatever. That's the Episcopals for ya'. (I bet you'd be aghast to find out what the Holy Rollers do!)

OK, back to the main stem of the thread ~ the crazy lady who may be a man but none of us really know ~ and I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Next time dont jump to the conclusion that I DIDNT read your entire post.

I only addressed one point you made, and I quoted it appropriately.

I did intend to point out that I agree with the points you made in your post. I was merely addressing your incorrect assumption.

the rite for abortion

Abortion is a RITE?!?!?

Not a "right", but a "rite", as in a ritual, a religious process that is special and sacred? A formal, solemn ceremony? What on Earth is going on in Western Civilization?

Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Y’know, the bible says that when St. Stephen was being martyred, he looked to heaven and saw the Lord STANDING (as opposed to sitting, as the Creed states) at the right hand of the Father.

We’ve been crawling through the Creed in my Catechumen class, and recently discussed that part of the Creed.

Many have wondered what the visual means (St. Stephen’s, that is)...was it an expression of the Lord’s outrage, was it an expression of solidarity (”...I am with you always...”).

Far be it for me to speak for the Lord, in my feeble sinfulness...but I’m pretty sure that what this woman speaks is vile, vile apostasy.

And I’d have to wonder if He was sitting or standing. Metaphorically, at least.

The Didache ( also referred to as The Teachings of the Twelve Apostles ), the oldest extant manual of church order, dating from the late first or early second century states: "You shall not kill the embryo by abortion and shall not cause the newborn to perish."

YHvH commanded us :
You shall not murder.
In Exodus and it is repeated in Deuteronomy.

Yah'shua repeats as is recorded in Matthew and Luke.

Paul repeats it in Romans.

Yah'shua's brother, James repeats the commandment again in his epistle.

This woman and her followers will have little ground
to stand on when they meet their maker and are judged.

In America we torture and murder 3500
innocent children each and every day.

Hence my AVOIDANCE of the word CHURCH. You will notice I said GROUP, not CHURCH.
