wow... where were these people back in November?

Looking for someone to support for President and finding no one presently available.

50% really don't even know what conservative means.

“By the way, for every 1 moderate vote we gain by going to the middle, 2 people from the base stay at home on election day.”

GOP repliess, “Who cares, we will get moderate democrats to vote for us and we’ll win anyway, won’t we?”

And yet they voted the Democrats absolute power. This word “conservative”, I do not think it means what you think it means.

I think the large conservative base was always there despite the moderates. When they sat out the last election becasue they were mad at bush, they gave us Obama. The city/ rural divide will always be there though with few exceptions, cities are liberal, rural areas are more conservative. Red state blue state ect. Those numbers are not going to change much, esp. with illegals moving in at record pace.

Conservatism is growing after having been out of favor for years.

New converts are being made by the half hour. Count on it! Hussein and the Congress are headed for the toilet bowl. Every social event that I’ve attended lately has included political discussions; shall we say heated. The consensus of everyone, Republicans and DemoRATs alike, was Vote Them All Out. All incumbents are despised and receiving justifiable blame for the mess the country is in.

Staying home on election day is not the way to get more conservatives elected. Duh!

Every conservative needs to make a commitment to go to the polls and elect the most conservative candidate running.

Ever since I read a poll in USA today that stated that 25% of atheists pray and believe that God answers their prayers, I have lost all confidence in polling. I don’t believe that Americans are smart enough to answer the questions.

The only ones who thought he was divisive was the Establishmedia Attack Machine.

Pray for America

True or not, that does not follow from these poll results.

I don't think the real damage when we move to the "center" comes from losing conservatives at the polls, I think it comes because these moves destroy the Republican brand. If we spend like Democrats, we can no longer appeal to fiscal responsibility (something very popular with many conservatives and moderates alike), which will cost us votes with both groups down the road.

Please.

Do you think Bush acted like a conservative, and deserved conservative support after TARP and the other bailouts?

I voted for McCain, and would have voted a million times for him if I had to, but I find it hard to blame why believers in smaller, less obtrusive government refused to vote Republican.

Like the OP said...turn left to appeal to one voter, you lose 2 of your base.

Bying into the hype. Wasn't there a poll recently that said something like 40% of so called republicans believed the Marxist pig in the WH could spend our money better than we could? Something like that.

Just goes to show just how impotent Juan McCain was as a “conservative”.
