Sometimes it does make sense to throw the baby out with the bath water, at least that is what is being suggested by Allen Boyd, a "blue dog Democrat" from Florida. Actually the Idea was suggested by one of his constituents:
When a questioner, Ray Evans, said he believed the President wants to do too much at once and asked whether Boyd would "be willing to scrap everything" and start over to do pursue reform more incrementally, the congressman responded: "I think that is an excellent idea we may end up there."
In a later interview with CNN, he said the idea had been been floated with the congressional leadership. He said that with the strong emotions and heated opposition he is seeing, the idea of doing health reform in a more piecemeal fashion is something he is strongly considering.
Boyd held three town hall meetings today and was met by a contentious but polite crowd

There’s no such thing as a “blue dog Democrat” These are just corporatist Des similar to corporatist Repubs.
The Failed Obama Administration©
I agree with you. And, if we do have uninsured citizens that need and want medical insurance who cannot get or afford it, then let them decide if they want to enroll in medicaid. Just fix what needs to be fixed.
Republicans should insist that healthcare reform starts with TORT REFORM. This would be a very safe strategy since all the lawyers in Congress will never let that balloon fly.
Indeed. Especially if you're Planned Parenthood.
A much better idea is to throw out congress and start over.
It's coming, and they know it.
YES WE CAN
IMPRISON ALL THE LAWYERS
I have my fingers and toes crossed.
LOL! My Rep in Tennessee is getting some very spicy e-mails.
Hotlips: If you don't turn them over to the MPs, I'm going to resign my comission!
Colonel Blake: Well goddamnit, Hot Lips, resign your goddamn comission!
Hotlips: My comission... my comission...
Colonel Blake: Champagne, my dear?
One hell of a good idea.
No. There’s no starting over. They got the “Go to Jail” card. Go directly to jail. Do not pass go, do not collect $2T.
The Dims spent all their political capital on their craptastic fantasy and are now completely broke. They lose.
Better yet, toss out the entire administration and start over.
I like that better
No starting over ... the American people want you to totally keep your frickin’ hands off healthcare !!
“Boyd represents a conservative area in northern Florida. A fiscal conservative, he is part of the Blue Dog coalition.”
He’s just trying a major CYA. The conservative commercials for next year are already being formulated tying him (and many others) to “Nancy, Harry, Barry, National Health Care, Cap and Tax, Raising Taxes, etc”. This list is long, and the commercials should be merciless. If the Conservatives don’t bring a Howitzer to this “gun fight” we’ll have to go through this again and again.
