The people do not have a "sovereign right to govern". They have a right to govern themselves. Corporations are composed of people, and are both funded and governed by them who have a financial interest in them. Any restrictions imposed upon their expenditures for the free expression of ideas is instantly violative of the 1st Amendment, and also the powers granted to Congress under Article I Section 8 of the Constitution. Oh, and by the way: the US is not a "democracy"; it is a Republic composed of a federation of sovereign states. Other than those objections, I think the proposed amendment would pass Constitutional muster < snicker>.

“Our Communists Party (formally the Democratic Party) in action. America is finished.”

Get a life! Shame on you.

The fight for Liberty is only just getting started.

Conyers: an ignorant, racist, liberal moron. Oh, and dear wife Monica needs to go to prison for her corrupt tenure on the Detroit City Council.

Are corporations allowed to own the press?

I see Keith Olberman ranting and raving on this issue, but is he not himself an employee of a corporation, and given unlimited free speech? So, why should any other person, or corporation be denied the same???

GE owns MSNBC right, so why should they, or Comcast, be allowed rights that Ford, McDonalds, Boeing, or any other corporation are denied?

LOL ... the only time the Democrats need the Constitution is to limit something, limit freedoms or some other scheme they cooked up.

Hey how about we put in term limits while we are at it and repeal the 17th amendment.

If you’re a resident of one of these Congresspeople [term used loosely], please find and mail them a copy of the Constitution. You could even make a copy online and send it to them through the mail with a note “please read this before submitting any bills to Congress” or something similar.

My 86 year old Mother thanks you, my nearly 87 year old Father thanks you and I [65 yr old] thank you.

Fool in paradise...great post. Remember, the left only believes in the rules as they apply to conservatives. Anything they do is fair game.

Great quote

Here is another great quote.

Well that’s probably they’re only hope of getting around the ruling. Good luck getting the required number of states to ratify it.

I love to see how all of these liberal women step out and show their true colors.

Just maybe NY23 and the Mass. elections were statements that voters are tired of liberal women.

Perhaps the reelection of Boxer, Murray, Lincoln and Gillibrand are reflecting it?

This dingbat from Maryland is just one more example.

O’Reilly is an idiot and is only trying to get Obama to appear on his show. He’s a dumbass..

“Bill O’Reilly thought it was a bad decision by the Supreme Court...doesn’t feel powerful corporations should have that much influence.”

The problem is that, the corporations already have a powerful voice, one that circumvents the will of people. We call it the Washington lobby. The Poli’s know that the feeder tray is in danger of going back to the people. They know that the people will become more informed; always bad policy for a politician bent on destruction.

Both Edwards and Conyers are members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC). Members of the CPC are also card-carrying members of the Democratic Socialists of America.

Is your congress-critter a card-carrying socialist?

This bill will go nowhere.

The submission of it is simply to placate the looney left.

John Kerry is a strong supporter of the First Amendment when it’s about someone burning the flag but when it comes to groups of people banding together to oppose democrats he wants the Constitution changed. The idiot should have stayed in Vietnam, he’d fit right in there.
