VIDEO--The Liberty Sphere Report: Marx or Madison?
Conservative Examiner ^ | 2/21/2010 | Anthony G. Martin

This is a brief video examination of Glenn Beck's speech at the CPAC meeting this weekend in Washington, DC.

One of the more interesting statements Beck made during his speech is that the nation 'needs a lot less Marx and a lot more Madison.'

What, exactly, did he mean?

Karl Marx, of course, is the father of communism. James Madison was one of our greatest Presidents during the early days of this Republic. Normally it would be understood that in a free society Madison would be greatly preferred over Marx.

But is this still the case in America today?

This is what makes the Tea Party so dangerous. They understand the difference between Marx and Madison. There are a lot more people who understand the difference than BO and his minions may realize. The sleeping giant is about to awake. The Tea party movement isn’t enough. Everyone who understands the difference need to shout it from the street corners and rooftops. From city hall to the shopping malls. Teach your children well. Because if you won’t, someone else will.

When I read the suggestion Madison is dead because of Barack the Red I want to choke the crap out of the writer.

Returning to Constitution: We’ve got to be able to answer criticism such as this letter in San Jose Mercury News 2/21/10

“I am amused by those who want to go back to the ideas of America’s Founding Fathers (Letters, Feb. 13). By all means, let’s re-enslave any African-Americans who can’t prove their ancestors were free in 1865 (the current First Lady would have to be sold). Let’s take away the vote from women and most black people. Let’s run the federal government solely on the revenues from tariffs and land sales (which would eliminate almost the entire government, including the military of which they say they are so fond). Let’s do away wiht Social Security and Medicare, all child-labor laws, all financial and banking regulations, and all environmental laws.
I’m not sure that even those folks who say they embrace the original Constitution would be comfortable in such an 18th-centure world.”
Ronald G. Kirchem Los Altos

WEll, WHERE TO START?

LOL! Choke me? I hope not. I’m on your side.

I put that in there to be deliberately provocative. The citizens who are clearly disturbed over this government must get even more fired up than they have been in order to throw these bums out.

The ineptitude exhibited by this administration in Year 1, in conjunction with the regular gaffes of Old Joe Biden might lead some to wonder whether the Marx Brothers rather than Karl Marx have been its guiding inspiration.

I just didn’t make the connection between the writer and the poster. But if you were looking to stir someone up, it most certainly worked.

The place to START is to do no further harm. No more law inconsistent with the Constitution.

Kirchem has it backwards. It is because our roots are in the Natural Law that slavery was opposed and eventually eradicated. I ask him to defend giving the voting franchise to those who can vote for goodies from others.

As for child labor, minimum wage laws, etc, the states are fully competent to enact their standards consistent with their Constitutions.
